Chapter 374: Two Million
Chapter 374: Two Million
While speaking, Jasper Sinclair’s deep eyes lingered on Nora Northwood’s nose and eyebrows, looking at her with utmost seriousness.
Just as Nora was pondering what to do in the afternoon, the doorbell rang.
It was the meal delivery service Bailey had ordered, arriving just a second before her stomach started rumbling.
For several consecutive days, Nora hadn’t eaten well.
Holding the soup bowl, she drank two bowls of ginseng soup, which helped her regain some strength, no longer feeling as frail as when she had just gotten up.
They had lunch together, and then Jasper hurriedly left to attend more tedious meetings and dinners.
The spacious presidential suite was left with just Nora and Bailey.
Bailey remembered the daunting task Director Sinclair had left her: to make madam feel at home.
So, she brought up a casual topic: "Madam, others say the chairman is the most unsympathetic person, but I think he’s truly considerate towards you."
"We’ve been married for a year now," Nora smiled.
If Jasper had indeed been "truly considerate," then what kind of existence was Peach Bell?
Of course, she wouldn’t discuss it with an outsider nor wished to be the subject of idle gossip.
Two young women gathered together, with plenty of topics to chat about. Nora shifted the conversation and asked, "Are there any other activities to pass the time this afternoon?"
She added, "I’m not accustomed to the taste of the afternoon tea here."
Her implication: please do not arrange afternoon tea.
Bailey was perceptive, otherwise she wouldn’t have been assigned here by Jasper Sinclair.
She earnestly said, "I’ve made an appointment with a sales representative for you, in the mall downstairs, and the models are ready."
The two of them moved to the high-end mall downstairs, only to find that Jasper Sinclair had booked the entire mall.
Nora retracted her surprised expression, not wanting anyone to think she was inexperienced, and certainly not wanting to embarrass Jasper Sinclair.
She asked in a very low voice, "How much does it cost to book the entire venue for a day?"
"Based on the mall’s foot traffic and sales estimates, it’s roughly this amount."
Bailey gestured a "V" sign.
Nora silently calculated in her mind: twenty thousand, two hundred thousand, two million... Initially, she estimated the amount at two hundred thousand, until she saw the actual scene and began calculating how many zeros were in two million.
Various custom luxury dresses appeared, many of which she had only seen in fashion magazines, now displayed in front of her one by one.
Not only so.
Also displayed were all kinds of dazzling jewelry in the jewelry boxes, allowing her to choose freely.
On the first anniversary of their marriage, she realized Jasper Sinclair was more wealthy than she had imagined, so gifting her an entire building for her to transform into a brand company was hardly worth mentioning.
Bailey introduced, "Madam, this is the first store. The mall features fifty international brands for you to choose from."
Nora feigned calmness, "Okay."
"If there’s a style you like, you can have the model try it on for your reference; you don’t need to try it on yourself. Director Sinclair specifically instructed that everything should prioritize your happiness. If you like it, you can take everything home."
Nora hesitated briefly, then made a decision: "Let’s see the effect on the model first."
The soreness in her body hadn’t entirely subsided, and trying on hundreds of clothes was too tiring for her. Besides, she didn’t have the energy for the hassle.
She thought about it and guessed she wouldn’t take many items with her. Even if she transported them back to her home country, she wouldn’t have many occasions to wear them since she spent most of her time in the fragrance lab. A lab coat was more practical.
