Chapter 326: Grounded
Chapter 326: Grounded
When she woke up, Nora Northwood was covered in cold sweat. The sky was completely bright, and the person beside her was gone.
Her gaze was slightly dazed, fixed on the time displayed on her phone screen, and it took a long while for her mind to reboot.
She got up to wash in the bathroom and discovered that before Jasper Sinclair left, he had already squeezed out the toothpaste, which was now quietly resting on the mouthwash cup.
While brushing her teeth, Nora took a moment to observe herself in the mirror.
Her pale fingers touched the scratch marks, gently caressing them. Fortunately, the wound wasn’t deep enough to scar.
After dawdling for a bit longer, Nora finally went to the wardrobe to find appropriate clothes.
Compared to the calm years here, the Lockwood Family was in another scene entirely.
The entire villa was turned upside down by Jade Lockwood.
"Why should I apologize? I didn’t do anything wrong!"
Her actions from the day before had already reached Zane Lockwood’s ears, and the Lockwood Family’s stocks were already in a freefall.
"Because your capriciousness threatens to destroy the Lockwood’s century-old legacy, and you dare say you did nothing?"
Zane clutched his chest, pointing at Jade’s nose, his face full of disappointment.
"It’s that little bitch, Nora. If it weren’t for her, our Lockwood Family wouldn’t be in this state." To this day, Jade still failed to see her own mistakes, insisting on blaming everything on Nora.
Zane wanted her to apologize and make amends, but she refused adamantly, "You want me to apologize to her? I’d rather die!"
"You!"
After all, she was his own daughter, spoiled since childhood, Zane was helpless and could only storm out.
However, before leaving, he left a word: "Take the young miss back to her room, and without my permission, no one is to let her out."
A form of house arrest.
"You can’t lock me up. I still have to find Jasper Sinclair and seek justice..." Jade screamed after him.
After leaving, Zane rummaged through the warehouse and picked out a few valuable items.
With these things in hand, he went alone to The Sinclair Group.
Seventeenth floor, the President’s office.
Jasper Sinclair was tidying his tie, his fingertips following the fabric’s texture from top to bottom.
The front desk called, "President Sinclair, the Lockwood Family wants to see you."
Jasper’s response was a cold two words, "Not meeting." He wasn’t one for expressive faces, and lately, his brow often furrowed.
The company’s subordinates all knew the president hadn’t been in a good mood lately, making everyone more cautious in their work, careful not to get into trouble.
Zane didn’t leave just because Jasper refused to see him; he kept waiting at the elevator door.
Approaching noon, Jasper came down from upstairs, and the two ran into each other.
"President Sinclair, please, give me a few minutes. I’ve already reprimanded my daughter for her actions. She deeply realizes her mistakes. Today I’ve come to offer apologies to you and your wife."
Jasper walked ahead with large strides, while Zane circled around him from side to side.
"The involved party didn’t show up; it seems the Lockwood Family isn’t sincere." The man’s tone was light, as if the apology didn’t concern him much.
After all, the incident had happened, and even an apology couldn’t change it.
Before they knew it, they arrived at the parking lot.
Zane’s mouth kept moving, his words echoing.
Louis Hayes pressed the unlock button on the vehicle and was about to open the rear door, "Mr. Lockwood, please step aside."
