Chapter 395 - 388: Who Are You Really
"Bai Chuan? How is it you!" Bai Yiran looked at him, astounded.
Bai Chuan gazed down at Bai Yiran’s face, still so beautiful. At this moment, he felt somewhat conflicted, unable to describe the emotions he should have toward Yiran.
He remained silent, his deep eyes sparkling with brilliance.
Bai Yiran lay her head on Bai Chuan’s chest, able to clearly hear his powerful heartbeat.
"What are you doing? Let me go!" Bai Yiran urgently struggled to break free from Bai Chuan’s grasp; this posture made her uncomfortable both physically and mentally.
Bai Chuan said nothing, but held Bai Yiran even tighter. The two began a struggle for dominance, obviously Bai Yiran was no match for Bai Chuan.
The strong grip caused Bai Yiran’s waist to ache, "Bai Chuan, let go of me! What the hell are you doing!"
Bai Yiran pressed her hands firmly against Bai Chuan’s chest, trying to create as much distance between their bodies as possible.
Seeing Bai Yiran’s intense reaction, Bai Chuan’s gaze darkened. He swiftly turned around and pushed her against the wall, one hand braced beside her ear, while the other hand still held her waist tightly.
Bai Yiran glanced at Bai Chuan’s palm beside her ear, reaching out to push it away, yet she couldn’t move him in the slightest.
"What exactly do you want?" Bai Yiran glared at him furiously, "If you don’t let go, I’ll scream! Then if people come, it won’t be good for either of us!"
Bai Chuan was startled then curled his lips into a wicked smile, "After so long, your temper is still this fiery? Sure enough, you never give me face!"
Bai Yiran looked up to see Bai Chuan’s familiar, deep eyes. In this moment, Bai Yiran became disoriented, "Who exactly are you? Bai Chuan or..."
Bai Chuan remained silent, just staring at Bai Yiran, waiting for her next words.
"Were all the flowers sent by you over the years?"
Bai Chuan finally nodded, "Yes, that’s right. But it seems you don’t like them, treating those flowers like you treat me."
Bai Yiran was stunned, looking at Bai Chuan without words, a name already formed in her mind yet she dared not speak it, dared not utter that unrealistic name.
"Bai Yiran..." Bai Chuan looked directly at Bai Yiran, with a hint of sadness at the corner of his mouth, "I miss you so much..."
"You really didn’t die!" Bai Yiran’s eyes widened in shock, "You’re Yin Tianshen!"
He looked at her, hoping to find even the slightest joy or longing for the news of his resurrection in her eyes. But in those beautiful eyes, aside from shock, there was none of the emotion he longed for.
He gradually released his hold, letting go of her body, standing a bit farther away, not knowing where his gaze should fall. He risked being discovered and even killed by Nawa’s men to come here, to tell her he was alive. He didn’t understand why he had to do this, nor what would happen if he saw the emotions he wanted in Bai Yiran’s eyes. He hadn’t considered the outcome at all, rashly running over, just wanting to see her once again before leaving. Just like before, he wanted nothing but to have her.
"Yin Tianshen, since you didn’t die, why not rightfully be yourself instead of degrading yourself in a place like Liu Fei?"
His body froze, then he put on a bitter smile, "What? Do you think I’m dirty?"
"You know that’s not what I mean!"
As the two were in a stalemate, Brother Zhou’s voice came from the stairwell outside, "Yiran, are you there?"
"Ah?" Bai Yiran was startled, looking at Bai Chuan, "Yes, I am!"
Bai Chuan suddenly embraced Bai Yiran, whispering softly in her ear, "Yin Tianshen will be back soon."
