Chapter 192: Bloodling vs Lycanthrope
Chapter 192: Bloodling vs Lycanthrope
Kiera closed her eyes, then opened them abruptly.
They glowed fierce red in the darkness.
The next instant, she became a blur and dashed towards Logan.
The lycanthrope reacted swiftly, backing away and lashing out with his claws.
Kiera slipped past his claws and raked his chest, staining his silver fur with blood.
However, as if he didn’t even feel pain, Logan didn’t react to her attack.
Instead, his forearms grabbed her shoulders, claws sinking into her flesh.
He slammed her back to the ground, pinning her beneath him.
Kiera’s head rang, but she knew she couldn’t afford to be dazed. A fierce kick struck the lycanthrope’s stomach, making him wince slightly.
However, his grip on her didn’t budge.
Realizing that a kick was useless, Kiera endured the pain and grabbed his legs, trying to shove him off her.
It was futile. She had underestimated his strength, and she was even unable to do a thing.
Logan’s mouth parted to reveal rows of deadly fangs, and his jaws opened to bite her head off.
Kiera’s eyes widened, and she slammed her legs into his side instinctively, throwing him off balance.
His grip on her loosened, and she immediately took that opportunity to escape.
Standing some distance away, Kiera’s red eyes sharpened.
From her own bleeding injuries, she drew out some blood, using it to form a thick red spear.
’Oh?’
Watching this, Kaiser was intrigued. He didn’t move, and he wouldn’t move unless necessary—just like a spectator.
Holding the spear in her hand, Kiera dashed at the charging creature.
She ducked under his swipe, his silver claws narrowly missing her pale skin.
She stopped at his side, then stabbed the spear into his hide with all her strength.
The impact forced Logan back, but the spear didn’t pierce past his ribs.
Kiera immediately pulled back, avoiding a wild, retaliatory swing from him.
His blood spilled to the ground, but he showed no concern. Instead, the maddened glint in his eyes only grew.
"Grrr..."
Growling, he curled slightly, then leaped towards her.
Rather than blocking, Kiera dodged, letting him crash into several training equipment and tear them apart.
Crushing something beneath his feet, Logan turned his head and glared at her.
There was only hunger and the desire to kill in his expression—if he had one.
Then, the game of tag began.
Logan chased Kiera across the room, trying to snap his jaws shut on any of her limbs.
Thankfully, the bloodling was faster. Although Logan was far stronger than her, he still couldn’t match her blinding speed.
In just a few minutes, the whole room was scarred with scratch marks on the walls and even on the ceiling.
Kiera paused, staring at the destruction around them.
Logan tore apart everything on his way, his low growls bouncing off the tattered walls.
A trickle of sweat rolled down the side of Kiera’s head, her modest chest heaving as she observed the lycanthrope.
’I don’t think I can... haa...haa...’
Her vision blurred briefly.
She was getting exhausted. After all, it had been a while since she drank blood.
’Wait. Shouldn’t Kaiser have fed me before coming he—’
While she was thinking, Logan charged at her, abruptly cutting off her thoughts.
She immediately jumped to the side, letting him fly past her.
His claws dug into the ground as he forcefully halted his momentum, then chased after her.
To Kiera’s horror, he seemed to have grown faster, his thick paws barely touching the ground as he sped towards her.
’He’s almost—!’
Just as she prepared to turn, Logan stretched a leg, his claws grazing her thigh and leaving deep injuries.
Kiera stumbled, falling to the ground, and immediately rolling to get back up.
Logan was faster. His other foreleg dug into the ground hard, turning him towards her.
Before she could fully stand, he leaped on her, slamming her to the ground.
Kiera spat a mouthful of blood, her head ringing in pain.
The next moment, Logan bit hard on her shoulder. His long canines tore through her flesh, nearly meeting inside her flesh.
"Angh!"
Kiera screamed in pain, her face twisted in agony.
Just when she thought Logan might tear her shoulder off her body, something moved in her shadow.
A black tendril shot out, wrapping around Logan’s throat and constricting heavily.
His maw was forced to open, freeing her from his fiendish bite.
Another tendril of darkness wrapped around her limp body, dragging her into the darkness.
Logan choked, the dark tendril still constricting around his throat.
In a fit of rage, he attacked the tendril, shattering it and even injuring himself.
However, it was undeniable that he felt relieved. The choking was gone.
Now free, he turned his head to find his prey.
Sadly, he didn’t find her. It was someone else who stepped into the spotlight.
Kaiser was clad in the Nullweave Carapace, the Deathstalkers strapped by his waist.
Observing the wolf-like creature with an empty gaze, he said in a flat tone.
"How many times do I have to beat you before you fall unconscious?"
It was a rhetorical question. The lycanthrope couldn’t answer.
No one could.
Kaiser took a step... and appeared next to the large creature. His sharp yellow eyes turned to him immediately, but it was already too late.
Kaiser’s fist sank into his side, breaking a few bones and sending him skidding across the ground.
Regaining his balance by hooking his claws against the ground, Logan growled threateningly.
His maw dripped with saliva, his sharp canines stained with Kiera’s blood.
Roaring, he charged at Kaiser, his movements almost a blur.
Unsurprisingly, Kaiser grabbed onto his raised forelegs, stopping him in place.
Then, he turned around, lifted the lycanthrope, and smacked him to the ground.
Bang!
The whole room trembled from the weight of the creature, with some equipment even falling and clattering on the ground.
Unfazed, Logan rose to his feet, shaking his head to dispel the shock of the impact.
He glared at Kaiser again, hunching his back and preparing to spring forward. Suddenly, he lost sight of his prey.
His yellow eyes blinked twice in confusion, unable to understand the sudden disappearance.
Kaiser silently dropped from the ceiling above him, the Deathstalkers stabbing into the creature’s thick hide.
