Chapter 190: Mission Alert: Break a Lycanthrope
Chapter 190: Mission Alert: Break a Lycanthrope
Once the matches were concluded for the day, Kaiser slipped away without alerting anyone.
If he was right, tonight’s task would be a hassle.
Unlocking his phone, he sent a message to Kiera, then texted Maya too.
’She is alright now. That’s a relief.’
Confirming this from the message he had received, he pocketed his phone and headed straight to his room.
After taking a light shower, he prepared a meal for himself, ate his fill and took a quick nap.
Exactly eight o’clock in the night, his eyes snapped open.
Kaiser took another shower, got into a hoodie, then left his room.
He didn’t leave the dormitory immediately.
Instead, he took his phone and texted Kiera.
|Kaiser: Meet me at the lobby. And have you confirmed Logan’s room number?|
Her reply came a few seconds after.
|Kiera: Room 124. I’ll be at the lobby in the next five minutes.|
Nodding, Kaiser took the elevator and headed to the sixth floor of the dormitory.
To his surprise, Room 124 was directly before the elevator. It was convenient.
"Now then..."
He took a few steps forward, then knocked on the door.
At first, there was no response and no sign of movement in the room.
Kaiser paused, then knocked again—louder.
Finally, there was some movement and he heard Logan shout.
"The hell? Who the fuck is that?"
From the sound of his footsteps, Kaiser realized that the boy had stomped over to the door angrily, then yanked it open.
The moment he saw Kaiser under the hoodie, he froze.
All the curses he was about to throw died in his throat.
"W-what is it?" He asked cautiously, trying to remain composed.
Kaiser didn’t want to waste time, so he immediately activated his cursed voice.
"Get dressed in your least important clothes and follow me."
Logan’s eyes turned blank, though his expression twitched slightly. He complied, heading back into the room and donning a plain grey round-neck top with plain black trousers.
Once he was done, he came out of the room, then followed Kaiser into the elevator.
Kaiser didn’t say a word to him, and his expression remained blank.
When they got to the lobby, there were a few people there.
Kiera was easily distinguishable due to her silver hair, so Kaiser spotted her immediately.
The moment they came close, the girl turned sharply, an irritated scowl on her lips.
Her eyes went past Kaiser, landing on Logan who was behind him.
"What the hell? He stinks!"
Her nose was scrunched up in disgust.
Kaiser raised a hand for her to keep quiet, then glanced at Logan.
Just like Kiera, his lips were twitching, like his primal senses were aware of her presence.
’He’ll break free of my control soon.’
Kaiser realized. Frowning faintly, he added more cursed essence into his vocal chords and spoke.
"Follow me, Logan."
The twitching stopped, and he began following him like a puppet.
Their destination was the Training Facility. A private training room there, to be precise.
On their way there, Kiera’s expressions were a mix of caution, fear, disgust, and anger.
The first two were towards Kaiser, while the latter two were to Logan.
Kaiser noticed this and asked, his voice even.
"Why do you fear me?"
Kiera was startled, but bit her lip and answered.
"Because you’re really dangerous. And you can kill me."
The boy glanced at her. "Is that so... very well, I’ll accept that."
He said no more, continuing the journey in silence.
After some time, Kiera rubbed her arm nervously. She took a look at Logan, then at Kaiser.
"What are we doing with him? You’re not going to kill him, right?"
Kaiser didn’t pause, but he calmly answered her.
"No? Why would I kill him? He hasn’t done anything deserving of death from me."
The girl was secretly relieved, then asked. "So... what are we doing with him?"
Kaiser shook his head in disappointment. "Did you even study anything about your kind and some history? Look at the sky."
Kiera blinked, her cheeks turning red in shame. Kaiser was right. When she lived with her parents, she usually ignored studying and preferred drinking human blood.
Raising her head to look at the sky, she saw a full moon shining in the sky.
’It’s beautiful... wait!’
She halted abruptly, gazing at Logan with wide eyes.
’He’s transforming tonight?!’
Although she hadn’t studied, she remembered her mother always telling her to be careful at nights when the full moon was revealed.
When she had asked, her mother had replied in a grave tone.
’That’s because the full moon brings the worst enemies for we bloodlings.’
Her expression turned grim, as she finally understood what Kaiser wanted to do.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the Training Facility.
The place was desolate, with no student around. Only a few workers were present.
Approaching the counter, Kaiser passed a black card to the receptionist.
The young lady observed the card, then looked at the three of them suspiciously.
"A private training room?"
What were two boys and a girl trying to do in a private room, in the middle of the night?
Kaiser ignored the suspicion in her eyes and nodded.
Although skeptical, the lady remained professional and gave him the keys.
"114. Upstairs."
Kaiser nodded curtly, then headed to the elevator.
Barely a minute later, they arrived at the private training room.
Kiera glanced at Kaiser suspiciously, suddenly hesitating.
"Hey... it can’t be that I’m the one you’re after, right?"
Although Kaiser hadn’t said anything about how she had been cruel to Maya, she expected him to at least punish or scold her.
Instantly, several thoughts flooded her head and she was filled with insecurity.
"Don’t waste my time. Get over here."
Kaiser rolled his eyes, then unlocked the thick metal door.
He swung it open, then dragged Logan inside. Kiera followed behind them hesitantly.
The room wasn’t very bright, with only a dim bulb illuminating the center. There were various training tools and equipments scattered across the room, but they needed none.
Pushing Logan to the center, Kaiser closed the door shut, then released his control on Logan.
Instantly, the boy regained consciousness with a gasp.
