Chapter 189: Tension

Chapter 189: Tension

Clang! Boom!

A student was sent flying, slamming into the wall of the arena.

Once again, the remaining students were stunned by the display of power.

Gaga stood confidently, observing his gloved hand with a curious expression.

The black glove had a small tear, and it was releasing smoke.

"Oh?"

He sounded surprised, then looked at the student he had sent flying.

The boy was already back on his feet, his face covered in his own blood.

However, the intensity of his red eyes remained chilling.

’He has such fierce determination to win. I admire that.’

Gaga smiled, waiting for the boy to approach him.

The break had already ended, and the special evaluation continued.

Instructor Natalie had called upon Logan, and when he picked his card, the opponent turned out to be Class-B’s monster—Gaga.

Now, a few minutes into the match, Logan was already battered and bruised.

Growling with gritted teeth, he clenched his fists and charged at Gaga.

Before reaching him, he jumped in the air and threw a punch, intending to use the force of gravity to amplify his attack.

Gaga took a step back, then threw a casual punch.

Bang! Crack!

Again, Logan was thrown back with so much force he slammed into the walls.

His gauntlet was already damaged, cracks running along its surface. Some parts had even began to chip off.

Logan blanked out for a few seconds, his eyes rolled up beneath his eyelids.

Regaining consciousness, his pupils constricted, and he immediately locked his sight on Gaga.

’I... have to... grrr... win.’

His thoughts burned with maddening stubbornness, and his eyes gradually turned yellow.

His bones shifted, with his hands becoming somewhat longer.

Detaching himself from the wall, Logan charged at Gaga again.

This time, he ran on all fours, like a gorilla leaping at its target.

The golden-eyed boy raised a brow, then prepared a heavy punch.

"If you’re this persistent, then I can’t be merciful."

As Logan drew close, his size increased slightly, and his eyes became predatory.

He leaped forward, left hand outstretched in a grabbing motion while his right hand also prepared a punch.

The next second, they clashed.

Logan’s left hand clamped shut on Gaga’s head, while his fist dug into the boy’s guts.

Meanwhile, Gaga’s punch directly hit Logan’s ribcage, completely shattering every bone present.

He stumbled back in slight pain from his stomach, expecting Logan to be sent flying like usual.

However, this didn’t happen.

Logan’s clawed hand stubbornly clung to his head, while his eyes had turned white—unconscious.

’Unbelievable.’

Gaga marveled, then carefully pried the boy’s hand off his head, avoiding being cut by the sharp claws of the gauntlet.

Logan’s body dropped to the ground, battered, bruised, and gravely injured.

Rubbing his stomach with a pained smile, he said.

"He needs medical attention."

Instructor Natalie immediately announced.

"Gaga wins this match! Hurray!"

Her voice wasn’t as enthusiastic as usual though. Gaga’s strength alarmed her. He was definitely a danger to the class she supervised—Class-A.

Immediately after her declaration, medical staffs came to carry Logan away for treatment.

In her seat, Hazel shifted in unease.

"This guy... not even his full strength, and Logan was crushed like that?"

Ariel’s green eyes also studied Gaga solemnly.

"I’m a bit skeptical if it’s actually his ability or a physique. This level of strength is off charts."

He turned to Kaiser, his gaze plain.

"Do you think you’re stronger than him?"

Kaiser blinked, his gaze shifting from someone else to Gaga.

"Him? I have no idea."

He shrugged casually, uninterested in the question of who was stronger.

This time, Hazel’s voice was grave.

"I hope you can be honest, Kaiser. If you both got to face each other, can you handle him?"

Kaiser paused, then said in a detached tone.

"Obviously."

Although Hazel was skeptical, the tone with which he spoke reassured her.

’I have to get him to fully support the class. Somehow.’

Meanwhile, Kaiser closed his eyes, a thought forming in his mind as he remembered President Anthony’s words.

’Hmm. Logan’s transformation has been coming frequently since yesterday. In that case, his first full transformation should be on the night of the full moon, which is...’

His eyes snapped open.

’—tonight?’

.........

The matches continued, with losses, wins, and draws being witnessed one after the other.

By the time the day ended, there were only five matches left.

The scoreboard turned on, displaying the current scores of each class.

Class-A - 68 pts

Class-B - 97 pts

Class-C - 69 pts

Class-D - 39 pts

Class-E - 41 pts

It was obvious that Class-B had already taken first place. The second place would be a struggle between Class-A and Class-C, and the last place was also a struggle between Class-D and Class-E.

"Ahem!"

Instructor Natalie cleared her throat, a bright smile on her beautiful face.

"The five matches remaining would surely be very exciting. Why? Because each participant is from a different class!"

Several eyes widened, and everyone began searching for the last person among the twenty selected in their class, who hadn’t fought.

Ignoring the commotion, Instructor Natalie continued.

"This will greatly determine if your class gains three points, loses one, or gains one. The rankings is up to you all~"

After her announcement, the woman walked away with the other instructors who had remained as silent as ghosts since the evaluation began.

Hazel immediately sent a message to the group, trying to confirm the last participant from the class.

After some minutes, an answer came in.

It was Kim.

Hazel’s expression darkened immediately.

’No, this won’t work.’

The girl was the weakest in the entire Class-E, with poor combat skills and had an ability not suited for combat.

Even Ysabella was better. Although her ability could not help her during her battle, she had at least won by using her strength and skills with a staff.

Unfortunately, Kim wasn’t like her. The girl was always too lazy to train, and believed she was useless—which was right.

’So we’re losing one point tomorrow...’ She sighed, ’If Class-D can get a win tomorrow, then we’re definitely going to be dead last.’

The future of Class-E was grim.
