Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 999 - 998 - Resistance Plans

Chapter 999 - 998 - Resistance Plans

Tsunade felt like her world was turned on its head. That Maester Cord was a True Lord was acceptable as the rise of such a being had been the hope of all beast races with the Law Bindings combating the Corruption.

Yet, not a single one had arisen in over a million years. Even in the worst times of history, at least one could be born as if Heaven and Earth would not allow the beasts to fall into extinction.

Now, she realized that the being in front of her had somehow risen to their layer after a million years of being trapped inside it!

The reason she knew he did not come from above was the fact a Radiant would have sent a well supported envoy or at least the ability to widen any breach of whatever isolated the layers since the Corruption arose.

Also, the Shandor Syndicate had branches in the 3rd layer.

Their actions were known to an extent even if it had not been so aggressive in the past. Their backers and allies made it hard to wipe them out as it would invite a disaster like Kun City and Ogros Kingdom just suffered.

"You idiot! You brought this on us all!" Seras was not berated as Min seemed to want to pile on but both were stunned when rather than anger, the man nodded at them.

"Ignorance is not an excuse but even if I knew in advance the price, I would have acted the same to free the girls. The only difference is I would have ensured the slavers would not have survived to inflict more pain." His words sounded naive to the other 2 but she knew he was dead serious.

If anyone could act with immunity to the Shandor Syndicate, it would be a True Lord. Heaven and Earth were fair but if attacked first, there was nothing anyone could do against the Wrath of Heaven.

If the Shandor Syndicate knew what Maester Cord was, they would have accepted the loss and done nothing to him ever. They had seen what happened when anyone tried to punish a True Lord that acted in self defense.

It was one of the few instances even the most idiotic, self indulgent, and narcissistic young master would actually bend over backwards to accommodate a True Lord in the most sincere way possible.

It was a given that Heaven did not favor a being easily and True Lords were not just favored but could give edicts with its authority! They paid a price for it few would, but that kept abuse in check.

Now, a True Lord accepted his culpability in the current tragedy! Tsunade suddenly felt light headed as she began to giggle uncontrollably. She could not help it.

The room stared at her in confusion and annoyance in a few cases but Taren Cord smirked back at her. He understood the source of her amusement.

"Something you care to share with us you useless bird?" She was so tickled she let Seras' derogatory comment slide.

"It is just amusing that you don't seem to grasp something basic. This man, a Triple Maester, not only returned to Kun City without being detected or injured, but breached my defenses without a whisper as well. A defense created by a Radiant Tier." Her words slowly began to sink into them all and looked at Seras and Min almost in pity.

"That is not all." His voice suddenly drew them over as he produced several jade slips he then tossed over to them.

The 3 sank in their senses to them but Tsunade felt giddy all over again.

It was battle plans! Concise, direct, and well thought out about how to reconquer Kun City! They had also noticed the layout of the damaged areas of the city were highly detailed.

"How far can your aura reach?!" Min was very high pitched when she asked as she noticed a few areas she had fought in before being safely walled off in the inn.

"I am unimpeded. My record is a little over 5000 kilometer radius if there is no resistance. The current world cuts it down a bit with the Law Bindings everywhere but otherwise, I am good." All 3 stared at him.

That kind of distance was impossible! It would mean a single cultivator could cover several small countries if he could go undetected. No one could escape his sight!

"You are telling me your aura exceeds a Sovereign Tier?!" Seras's question made him look over at Tsunade who nodded but he looked at them confused.

"I hate to tell you this but I know beings that far exceed my range. They are only Shard Tiers. Keep in mind, if the normal protections are in place, my aura is as limited as anyone else." He seemed to be truly confused and also holding something back but now it was their turn to stare at him.

"Do you have a name?" Tsunade asked but he seemed to consider for a moment before nodding to himself.

"I know of one that is dead that was called Valkyrie. Her aura at the shard tier was easily close to 10,000 kilometers before even reaching the peak of the mid tier." He seemed to consider something for a bit before looking a bit sad. "She was a brave woman who died protecting her sect."

"Such a woman would be known to us. What sect could raise such a monster?" Seras seemed incensed but then all 3 were shocked when a token appeared in his hands and he tossed it over.

The golden woman with a white background was known to them instantly. Further, the token was known as well. Guest Elder?!

"Y-y-y-your from the Heavenly Maiden Sect?!" Seras looked pale and even Min was now looking afraid. His confusion at their reaction only made them even more terrified. How good was his relationship that he could not conceive of how terrifying those women were?!

Tsunade was the only one that knew the full truth but even she was shocked.

"It is not the time for that. I have to take responsibility as you stated. I hope that assures you I am speaking from experience. Time is of the essence as the city is too damaged to hold at the moment. It is the best time to strike." His confidence was infectious.

"You have experience fighting against superior forces?" The instant she asked, the aura around him changed. The affable and kindly Maester of healing was replaced with a battle hardened warrior. More, Tsunade felt the familiarity of a leader who accepted the weight of sending people to their death to win.

"Far more than I care to." The words were heavy. Tsunade felt it and saw the others did too.

"Let us go somewhere to begin to plan then." She tried to move from the interrogation to the planning stage but Taren Cord held up his hand.

"The plans we could come up with all fail in one aspect. We need experienced fighters but no one I have seen here is. Instead, I suggest chopping off the head. How many Crystal Tier cultivators do they have? Also, how many weavers do they have?" His first question was basic.

In their current circumstances, the number of Crystal Tiers dictated how the rest of their plans would go. The other question made them confused. Why would the number of weavers matter?

He looked at them in pity for some reason.

"The damage to those 2 girls was a rather inept attempt to refine their souls via weaving. I have seen far more powerful experts but the quantity could make up for the quality." His words made them shiver as they truly grasped what the Eternal Flame Sect had become.

"There are several weavers but the only one that is a threat to us is the Eternal Flame Sect Master. He is an expert at the peak of high grade 7 and likely a Law Maester." He nodded as if he already knew that. It was the first time he knew something they did!

"Even so, assume even a Sliver Tier weaver could be a threat. It is not as restricted by cultivation as other professions. If they reached the 7th circle, it would be able to affect us easily." He then began to outline a crazy battle plan.

They covered what they knew of their enemies but all agreed there could be hidden dangers. The only advantage they had was the need to keep the bastions of resources secure and required dividing their forces.

There was also the real threat of Midas Throne appealing to local powers to come and restore Kun City to its glory.

If they could unseat them at that time, it would be ideal.

Life was hardly fair so waiting for that scenario was not acceptable.

"There is one problem. You are not a recognized power, Maester Cord. Even with that token, you have no authority to rule a city." It was a political point but a valid one from Seras. She was not being vindictive at all, just truthful.

Even if they took over, he had no authority other powers would recognize to allow him to hold it together. They could in fact invite more issues.

He seemed to consider the point before a small smile spread on his face.

"Senior Min, do you recall one of your disciples that left with her Elder a few years ago?" Min looked confused but then slowly nodded. She did not seem to understand his line of reasoning.

"Do you recall her status?" Shock slowly spread but then she shook her head.

"It would not work. A beast Clan is an acknowledged power and they are the closest currently, but she is alone. A single dragon princess could not claim Kun City as her own." He then turned to Tsunade and smiled wide at her.

She slowly nodded as she understood.

"The Jin Clan will recognize her right to claim a territory she has lived in for the last 50 years." Min smiled wide suddenly.

"As a former Sect Master, I certify the Lost Princess of the Blessed Amber Scale Clan has the lineage to rule." Seras stared at them but then nodded.

"If you can get her hear–" She had not even finished when the man vanished. He suddenly returned with 3 people in tow!

All recognized the woman that was his assistant but Seras stared at her in shock. Tsunade noted it but said nothing.

The last saw the stunned look of the young woman with amber eyes now in vertical slits. Her aura was also much more profound!

"Here is the new leader of our resistance, Teegan Amber Scale!" Maester Cord seemed to be like a proud father as the girl suddenly panicked and screamed something unintelligible while the rest of his party just stared at him in shock.

As the start of the Resistance of Kun City, it was not exactly awe inspiring.
