Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 826 - 825 - Dragon vs Dragon

Chapter 826 - 825 - Dragon vs Dragon

Humans use Arts, skill, and weapons to fight.  Demons are much the same but could also expand that to the effects of their Qi like poison or acid.

Aether children had their special skills so it was a mixed bag if they followed the human path or had a devastating attack inherent to themselves that few could plan for.

Aether beasts, like any animal, used their natural gifts but as they advanced in cultivation, that could expand to their natural Arts their race memories awoke in them.

Still, essentially, tooth and claw were the most essential weapons of most aether beasts.  Tails and wings as they were available also could be included but there were several bloodlines of terrifying power.

Divine bloodlines were not like the rest.  Nature was at their command, Heaven itself could become involved, and worse, few if any, beasts could do a thing to stop them.

Thus, there had been reasonable rules and practices to ensure 2 Divine Beasts did not unleash their full power in battle ever.

No such rules existed anymore.

LInd and Wen flew at each other.  She unleashed her fire once more but his body easily cork screwed his body to avoid it.  Further, his claws glowed with emerald Qi as he pushed off of thin air on cubes that appeared at his command.

His mane flared before launching like needles at her.  It caught her off guard as he rarely used it.  It would neither kill nor really harm her unless it got her eyes, but it made her back off a bit to his advantage.

All 6 of his natural elements flared around his 2 horns before a storm gathered around them.

Unlike Wen, he did not start as a dragon and retained his human dantian structure rather than becoming a beast core.

Crimson clouds condensed around them as lightning of darkness and earth appeared to the shock of anyone able to sense it.

What was that storm?

It had actually been one of his children that gave him the idea.  The opposing forces and magnifying forces between elements could be used to create imbalances like a storm.  Isolde often had deep thoughts about many subjects like that.

The Burning Storm used fire, earth, and darkness to create a magnified effect.  It was devastatingly effective due to Lind having to use all 6 elements in all his Arts.  The trace amounts of their counterparts cause the whole thing to work as making lightning out of anything other than light and fire Qi was normally difficult.

Fire was the base and made the clouds while the other 5 elements helped to make darkness and earth lightning Qi.

Before Wen could process if it was a threat, she was struck by massive bolts in quick succession.  As if it was spent, the clouds broke up which revealed the weakness of that Storm Art.

Wyndam's Storm Arts could be sustained so long as Qi was fed into them but the Burning Storm and its ilk were intentionally created imbalances that dispersed once balance was restored.

It was the trade off for its devastating power.

Wen was smoldering but no blood or damage seemed apparent.  Still, she now looked warily at Lind.

[You have strength, but it is not enough!]  She blurred and vanished.  Lind did not panic and simply let his Immortal Eyes find his target.  His tail whipped and caused her to appear early.

Unfortunately, her longer mid body proved a saving grace as she caused her torso to flex into a u-shape to avoid his tail, but the shockwave still sent her tumbling backwards.

He did not give her a chance to recover as his claws grew longer before he snapped to his full length to catch up to her!  His eyes never looked away but before he could slash his claws into her, gold red flames shot out once more.

She had ensnared him!

He was going way too fast to dodge in time even with his reflexes.  Using his weaving or other methods to push himself out of the way were too slow as well.

He recalled the warning but sneered as he brought forth all 18 elements around his body for a second.

His body glowed like a star that blinded all looking at the battle but if they could see, they would be shocked to see the flames shatter like glass!

The Qi was shredded instantly but Lind paid a steep price.  Like Laws, he could not recover Celestial Qi so easily, but he took no chances.  Still, it gave him enough information to study her fire.

It was devastating.  It did not simply burn what it hit, it completely disintegrated it!

That was not something he had ever heard of before but knowledge on dragons was limited.

Sunfire Clan may be a reference to a fire as strong as the sun?!

[Try this then!]  His own fire built up but he felt Wen sneer at him but he only smiled inside his mind as a blast of emerald lightning came out!

He could change his harmonic Qi into any shape or state he wanted.  Flames were powerful but slow.  Lightning was obviously not always expected, but Wen stunningly easily dodge his attack, at first.

The lightning curved after her like it was locked onto her!

She moved faster and away but he suddenly cut off the lightning and looked happy.

Wen did not understand until the sky changed color from blue to virulently green!  Poison Qi?!  How?!

Despiste surviving her attack, Wen did not perceive how Lind did it, only that it failed.

So when demonic Qi showed up, she was caught off guard entirely.  Her rich experience included fighting demons but she had to grasp that such an attack could come up.  A formation or artifact was a source she could react to, but this field of poison just appeared suddenly!

She tried to burn it away but the poison could resist!  Immortal Poison Qi!  How?!

She felt her scales were fine but her throat was itching and her eyes were watering.  Despite moving beyond the need for sleep and food, breathing was ingrained into all living beings.

She had not inhaled enough to truly harm her yet but if she could not escape it, she would die!

Her body suddenly began to shimmer and Lind felt a threat unlike ever before.

Wen's clan was not named because of their flames the could attack with, but because their entire body could become like the sun!

Streams of fire and light Qi ignited across her scales and caused an explosion that made his previous flare look like a puny flicker!

He was blinded!

Still, he did not panic as his aura senses worked just fine.  He also used his Immortal Touch to feel her closing in on him.  He had trained and survived very harsh situations that killed most people.

His tail snapped out which caught Wen by surprise but that was not all, blades of emerald Qi suddenly tried to attack her as if he was not blinded at all!  How sharp were his aura senses?!

Scythes, swords, spears, and various shapes started to come at her at massive sizes but that was not the only problem, how much Qi did Lind have?!

She was a peak Sliver Tier but she had used far more than expected.  Yet, a junior was going strong as if he had Qi to burn forever!

"ROOOAAAARRRR!!!"  She switched up tactics and snapped at his neck but he easily evaded her despite clearly being unable to use his eyes.  He could still see her with his aura sense so accurately?!

She finally went for make or break as golden orbs began to appear around her.

[You have pushed me to this point, junior.  Consider it an honor.]  His head turned right at her but it was too late as crimson Qi touched one of the orbs near her and started a cascade effect.

Lighting far more powerful than any aside from tribulation exploded to each orb and built power.  It all condensed into 4 strikes from above, below, front, and back at once.  There was no chance to dodge but strangely he did not move.

[You have lost, senior.]  His voice suddenly came to her and the lighting slammed into his body.  It raced across his scales but did not damage at all!

Instead, it gathered between his 2 horns on his head and then shot back at her!

She was too shocked to do anything as her own attack slammed into her body.  For anyone else, it would have killed them instantly, but she was made of that Qi.  She hurt, but not lethally hurt.

Still, she had burned up too much Qi.  Her body was exhausted, yet her opponent looked hardly winded!

Lind was tired, but the surprise of her last attack made him smirk.  It was like handing him a recharge for free!  He needed Qi and Laws to recover and she handed over lightning of all things!

She may as well have surrendered.  Her flames and other attacks were dangerous but pure lighting was understood by him far better than she did.  Laws were only part of it as all he had to do was make a grounding to keep the lighting from entering his body.

He then could take the pure lightning for his own and send it right back!

[Shall we continue?]  He had recovered but he could tell she was nearly empty.

[You will not win any respect like that, junior.  You will comply or more will come.]  Lind was about to lose his temper when he finally sighed and turned back into a human.

"Haro."  He spoke a name and the spirit appeared.  The instant he solidified, Wen laid her head low and fear came off her body.

"You could have saved considerable time if you had started with me, Master."  He looked much better but still pale compared to before.

"You needed to rest and I can stand up for myself but this insanity can only endanger the innocent.  I assume you have far more authority than me with her?"  Her reaction was not entirely out of his imagination.  His ring was from a place made by a Divine and was taught to be important to him but a dragon soul.

Haro was superior to Lind in Realm and knowledge by far but his true power was at that moment.  He had the power to acknowledge Lind for what he was.

"Hello, Daughter of Sunfire.  I am glad to see a branch of an honorable clan still alive in this wasteland.  Tell me, do you know who I am?"  Haro was no longer carefree and relaxed.  He stood with his hands behind his back and his aura made even Lind feel small.

"Great Spirit!  I am sorry!  We were not sure and had to test–"  Haro's dark eyes were merciless as he caused a thunderclap!

"Answer me, do you know who I am?"  She raised her head meekly and nodded.

"You are the harbinger of the Divine Progenitor.  You choose the candidates.  You are the arbiter of the trials."  Haro nodded and smiled gently.

"You know what to do then, yes?"  She nodded and shot off into the distance.

Haro shrugged and disappeared back inside the ring.  Lind floated upward as they both had to recover as best they could before returning to the surface.

He looked down and despite how high up they were, he saw the crumbling in the distance had accelerated massively.  It slowed visibly to his vision that finally returned and he frowned as the empty expanse where the seed was buried held on but seemed to be weaker now.

He sighed as he assumed a lotus position in midair and began to recover as he could.  He awaited the next round of battle or negotiation.  He doubted he would be lucky to have peace anymore.
