Chapter 825 - 824 - Discovery Above

Lind was able to fully recover in less than a month.  Using Qi was actually quite safe; it just was a question of condensing to a quality he could incorporate into his dantian.

Still, he noticed that if he moved towards where the Empire had once been, the speed of recovery jumped massively.  His Eyes showed Qi was quickly condensing there to Immortal Realm level!

The traces of Laws were growing as well!  They were in the air!  Compared to being contained in all the life and resources around him, it was much closer to the way it should be.

The Laws of gravity, air flow, and so forth were easier to grasp but they were still only traces.

"Master Lind?"  A voice broke his study of the rich Law area and he had to blink before the mountain came back into focus.

Gel was standing behind him but now looked just like a normal demoness.  She had not advanced in cultivation, yet she had mastered her physique even better than Kal had!

The tribulation may have come with more benefits than the slow slog Kal had to do through each realm.

"I was just studying a few things.  What is going on?"  She then charged her Qi and her wings, tail, and claws appeared smoothly before she easily retracted them.

"Well done!  You still need time but–"  He was about to give advice when all the hairs on his body stood on end!  He whipped his head to the west and his face became fearsome.

"Go to Yue and activate all defenses now!"  He then launched into the air.  As he rose, his skin shimmered with emerald but he did not transform yet.  He had only felt something like his current situation once before.

He had been in the Barren Realm and the 3 dragons were coming to him.  In that case, he felt recognition but his blood flared with a desire to fight.  It had been friendly, so nothing came from it, but now he felt a challenge.

A visceral reaction was roaring in his heart but he took command of it.  He was not a slave to his instincts, yet he knew it meant an enemy was coming and it was one of his race.

A dragon.

His Eyes pierced the distance and saw a massive dragon that had crimson scales but shone with gold.  The massive wingspan would blot out the sun without much trouble.  It had horns swept back from the top of the skull above each eye.

The main was not hair but leathery spikes of very dark gold like the claws he could see.  The tail was barbed and the eyes shimmered with molten gold that looked right at him!

It was a western style dragon that would have fit in any medieval fantasy story but it was massive!  It easily matched his own size in kilometers but then his eyes narrowed.  Its body was a bit longer between the fore and hind legs to make him think it was more flexible than what he expected but it was hard to see.

Fortunately, he had seen a variety of dragons in visions, real life, and historical documents.  It told him not to underestimate the reach of the incoming dragon.

He finally confirmed it was a peak Sliver Tier which actually worried him greatly.  The aura was not withered nor as pitiful as the ones he had seen thus far since his ascension.

[Senior.  I have not done anything to my knowledge to justify your anger.  Are you willing to explain?]  Lind kept his calm but he could feel the desire to transform rise in him.

[Fight or die.]

A simple ultimatum came back and his anger rose.  Still, he quickly summoned several peak Heaven grade 6 formation plates.  They fell from his hands after being infused with Qi

Massive domes quickly covered the entire mountain range as he knew anything the Starbreaker Empire left behind was too pathetic.  Annabelle's defensive formations would be far more effective.

He then shot up higher to be safe and the dragon accommodated him that much as it came in normal sight range.

[Lord Frey!  That is a dragon from the Sunfire Clan!  Do not face her fire head on!]

Yue's voice came to him but he did not know how she knew any of that.  His bloodline had no race memory yet as he was a progenitor, but he filed it away.  Despite the warning, he had some ideas as his Eyes noticed the dragon was a Quad-elemental with 4 primary elements easily apparent.

She had light, fire, water, and air as her primary elements.  It would make a terrifying level of power with that combination.

He finally felt a sudden shift in density of Qi and felt his pores open up.  It was Immortal Qi!

The dragon did not seem surprised at all and kept closing in.

Lind did not transform as he knew things would get out of hand if he did.  He was about to prepare a Storm Art when a shocking feeling entered his body.  Laws!  There were Laws in the range of his aura sense!

He shot up like a bolt that even the dragon coming in was shocked that they could not keep up!

He felt his ability as a dragon to fly reaching a limit but his aura flared as his comprehension of Law of Flight took over easily as the sound of thunder was suddenly heard.

Elementals!  Laws!  He could feel it all but despite how high he could fly, it was still beyond him, yet a smile crossed his face.

[Thank you senior.  You have helped me immensely!]  His honest gratitude actually finally stopped the dragon in place for a moment.

[Do not run away, fight or we will hunt you and your associates to extinction!]

He now grasped it was a female dragon, but her words broke the joy of his discovery.  Did she understand what she was saying?  The world was dying and she had come to fight him?!

For what?!  Why?!

[Am I to understand you just want to fight because I defy your orders?  You refused to help and actively ignore the issues out here.  Have I missed anything?]  His voice was cold but she hardly seemed impressed.

Her snout opened wide and red gold flames shot out almost like a beam.  Its power was insane but he stayed in the air above and watched as it slowed and fell apart before ever reaching him.

She could not reach him!

[COWARD!  FIGHT ME!}  She whipped her tail and her eyes were like daggers but he did not care.

[Answer my questions.]  Instead of answering, however, she looked down and shot down.  Lind extended his hand and emerald lighting sparked before an ephemeral claw ensnared her with ease.

Shock was clear in her eyes as she tried to break free but there was nothing physical to fight!

He was a low Sliver Tier, how was he so strong?!

She stopped holding back but once more she could not escape, it was only then she saw the golden sigils inside the emerald Qi around her.

A weaving!  She had been warned but it was a grade 7 weaving!  How?!

She looked up and saw a storm of Laws and Qi flowing into him!  Only then did she understand why he kept flying upward!

He was in range of that last natural source of Immortal Qi and Laws!

She then had a golden band light up and shatter his weaving like it was so much glass!

Lind did not underestimate his foe but that band was far more powerful than his remote skills.

Their deadlock did not last long as he knew she would attack his friends below.

He canceled his flight entirely to fall like a stone.  He had fully recovered from what he could reach far above.  He channeled as much as he could to Haro and felt the gratitude of his ring spirit.

The massive dragon loomed over him but he felt no fear.

[You dare to face me as a puny human form?!]  Her anger was apparent but he sneered back at her.

"You started it by not talking.  I respect those that offer at least basic respect to me and others.  It is a small thing but the most important to separate us from the Fiends.  They see us as resources and to be farmed like crops.  That is how you have treated me."  He was cold and calm but the dragon had smoke curling from her snout.

Anger was clear but then she paused as he wrapped up.

She then backed up and looked down at him vastly different from before.

[It has been a long time since I met a dragon not from the temple.  Your words are not wrong, junior.  I am called Suneater by the world but my actual name is Wen Sunfire.]  She bowed her neck low.

Lind returned the bow.

"I am Lind Frey, dragon soul, progenitor, and Divine Dragon."  His words actually shocked Wen.  She narrowed her eyes but then he transformed and he was a sinuous powerhouse!

His massive mane of emerald hair down his back to his powerful limbs and horns pointed towards her showed he was a true Divine Dragon!

[Now, we fight!]

Roars filled the air and all that could hear it knelt in awe as the lords of the sky fought above them!
