Chapter 827 - 826 - Haro's Power
Chapter 827 - 826 - Haro's Power
Haro was in a limitless void. There was some debate on where spirits resided in weapons and artifacts but technically it would not be right to call it a place at all. Did a human explain where they resided in their body afterall?
It was all pointless as many times a spirit was not aware of the passage of time until the outside world demanded its attention.
Haro was a little different. He had been alive for a very long time. The secret was that his body was much more than his current master was completely aware but Lind Frey was smart.
It seemed he had put pieces together and understood that Haro was far more than just a massive storage ring. Haro also had abilities that made no sense for a storage ring to have, yet he was unsure how much Lind had put together.
Lind currently floated in midair just in range of rich Qi and Laws. Haro was curious how such a wonderful area could still exist but he was grateful Lind channeled Qi and Laws into his ring.
[What will she do, Haro?] Lind's voice came into the place Haro rested. He was unsure how to answer as the restrictions he operated under currently were directly related to the information.
[I am unsure, Master. I do not know where she came from for sure and the current realm is not in a state I can be sure of anything really.] Haro answered as honestly as he could but considering Wen's reaction, Haro had some guesses where she came from.
Its exact name he did not know, but the kind of place he was certain of.
Silence followed but he had a good reading of his current master. Lind had not liked his answer.
[Grade 8 artifact that caused a peak Sliver Tier to kowtow without much effort. You were in a Divine Inheritance and a dragon soul reacted in a similar way. I have wondered but you are not just a ring but a symbol. A very important one.] His words made Haro smirk.
Intelligent masters were always better at his way of thinking.
[Is there a question, Master?] Haro felt his essence recover nearly back to the level of before when he felt shocked at the next words.
[Are there more of you?] That particular question was not forbidden but it came close to a likely train of questions Haro could not currently answer.
[Yes.] He answered truthfully but waited to see if Lind would delve deeper.
Instead, he simply felt Lind nod before silence ensued. Haro could try to sense what he was thinking but it was likely Lind would feel it at his current realm.
Immortals were far more in tune with their mind and souls. Reading them was no longer something easily done.
[What would happen if a Shard Tier dragon came?] A logical question and one Haro could answer.
[I can pull off a similar effect but I would not expect me to face more than one in our current circumstances.] If Haro had full access to his powers, even a Sovereign Tier Immortal would be nothing to him. Sadly, he had been dormant a long time inside that Inheritance.
Most of his power was either sealed by restrictions or used up recently to keep Lind stable. The current Celestial Fields were harmful to him.
[Do you have the authority to command them?] Haro froze in place at that question. It was very close to forbidden information.
[My authority has limits. I am only a spirit after all.] It was not really an answer. The displeasure from Lind was clear but Haro could not answer any more than that.
Both of them finally recovered but Lind looked up in frustration at the sky. Haro knew what was bothering him.
His flight ability combined with his draconic skill let him get just high enough to feel what the world should be.
"A dome or simply a limit to its reach. The wall of Qi is at the limit and the denser Qi falls from above." Haro could hear his spoken words if he wished. It cost him next to nothing and he was truly curious as Lind flew towards the wall slowly.
The ground was so tiny, even the once towering trees were just shrubs at their current height.
They came to the wall of falling Qi and both Haro and Lind could tell the upper regions continued but they were too low to explore it!
[Haro, could I make a sky ship out of the resources here?] The spirit felt Lind already knew the answer.
[Based on what I have observed, no. The materials would suffer from the same impurity as all the cultivators. You would be lucky to get a stable flow of Qi.] If it was just an artifact he might be able to get it work, but the complex sky ships were very different.
They were composed of several artifacts and ingenious use of Qi cores made of crystals. It was not something done before and only 6 elementals could really build them if they had the skills.
Lind nodded but explored as best he could. Elementals were in his range but Haro suspected they were Soul or World Realms at best.
Even if it felt more complete up there, it likely was not that much better after a million years.
"I need to get up there to find the cause of all this." Lind spoke aloud but then flew away back to the mountains. He would likely consult with Yue and the others on his next moves but Haro had to say something before then.
[Master, do not mention how you won. You should not reveal–] Lind stopped and his aura flared.
{You are restricted from telling me things and that is fine, but there is a limit to how much I will hide your existence from my allies. I know Gel and the others are not like my family or other close friends. I am alone aside from you. So either be my ally or our arrangement will be distinctly less cordial going forward.] His anger was clear and Haro was surprised to feel worried at losing Lind's respect.
Haro had several masters but few were like Lind and many did not survive long.
[You are a candidate, Master. That is as much as I can say. The rules are very strict.] Haro pushed the limit but did feel a shift in Lind's aura.
[Not good enough. That dragon attacked me, and threatened Yue and the others if I refused. Ethry and Lanbao taught me many things, but that was the most un-dragonlike thing I have ever encountered. Explain it to me or we are done.] Haro sighed. It was not unreasonable as Lind did not know.
Ethry, despite her access to race memory, had never lived in a dragon clan either. Lanbao likely suspected but followed the rules. She could have said more and then Haro would be free to speak more, but that was not the case.
[My guess, Master, is that your actions in the Starbreaker Empire drew their eye. Little Wen was sent to test you. There could be no discussion about it either. A coward would be killed and all that knew him as well. It is the rules we live by.] Lind frowned deeply and Haro knew why.
Such a rule made no sense and went against his Dao. Haro wished he could explain but that was the limit of his power.
[Senior dragon soul was more than just a guardian for an Inheritance, wasn't she?] Haro shook at the leap Lind just took. Haro knew that he had explored Ruins, Relics, and Inheritances and had a good idea of what happens when they start to decay.
In all of the knowledge he studied, the Ruin housing that dragon soul was the only one that had dragons come to retrieve her. Haro understood that needed an explanation.
[I cannot say much more than this. That Ruin was from a Sovereign Tier Inheritance. It was supposed to be drawn to qualified candidates but the conditions are harsh. I do not know specifics beyond that as I am not from this realm. I am from the Divine Lands.] Lind finally calmed down.
[Thank you, Haro.] Lind flew on and Haro contemplated where things were going. If the other 2 trials survived, which was more than possible, it seemed likely the dragons would be desperate to get to Lind.
He could not tell him that but Haro concentrated on a specific section of his arrays. It was weak, but he got a response!
They were there!
He could not locate them but it did not take much to guess. The odds of them being on the fringes of the Celestial Fields was next to 0 so they could only have survived somehow beyond what they had seen.
The so-called Sacred Paths held the answers and they had to go there one way or the other.

Wen barely fell into the Sacred Paths. The pleasant feeling of Laws and Qi washed over her exhausted body as she collapsed onto the stone path. The light of day was long behind her but she had to rest.
Still, she had finally reached a safe place.
[Grandfather, he has the ring!] She only sent a short message but it was enough. She then passed out from exhaustion and let herself recover. The glow of Qi was in veins all around her.
Immortal Qi, not Heaven Realm like the surface, surrounded her. The world above was dying but the world below survived!
