Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 808 - 807 - Venting Steam

Chapter 808 - 807 - Venting Steam

Lind had thought about several points of attack if he had to start it against the Starbreaker Empire.  He had been forced due to first Gel then the force that came looking for her.

The moment he killed that first thrall, his path was set.  He had spent the last 2 years causing havoc with a purpose.  He watched and evaluated those that came to investigate for thralls, strength, and other factors.

Thus, when he had to start attacking, it was systematic and without mercy.  Every village had a few thralls and he killed them all.  It was simply as all he had to do was lace the air with his harmony.

No one even saw what happened until the first thralls burst into flames.  Further, any Fiend traps, weavings, and all artifacts fractured in less than a quarter of a day.  Chaos was unleashed and strangely, he felt better than he had in a very long time.

He slowly understood what it was.  He had been restricted for so long and had to consider the ramifications of his actions that could reach his family and friends but at the current moment, there was nothing.

He had no one to worry about and no one to hold him back.  He smiled as his body elongated and became covered in scales as he assumed his dragon form.  His weaving was already in place to stop any communication and cut all contact to thralls outside the Empire.

He was now close to 3 kilometers long but the wall in front of him was still massive.  It showed how impressive the construction was but for the being facing them, the demons and Fiends felt fear.

The reason was because many defenses were automatic in the presence of an attack.  Lind had unleashed plenty of simple flame attacks that were not stopped at all!  In fact, the traps and other defenses made them bigger!

There was no need for complicated Storm Arts or other techniques, his harmony alone was the answer to all his needs.  The reliance on Fiend materials and Qi now came back to haunt the Starbreaker Empire.

"Attack!"  A Moon Tier Fiend shouted from the top of the wall that was open to the air.  It was a simple affair but slots opened lower down to reveal artifacts to launch black fireballs at him.

He sneered as he used his claws alone to shatter all attacks before he shrugged and simply let them hit him.  Demonic attacks were never considered as, rightly so, Fiend attacks were considered stronger.

To anyone else, they were lethal in ways no one could stop or hope to survive, but Lind simply sat there and floated unaffected in the sky!

Blood drained from demon and Fiend alike as he opened his maw wide to blast open the main gate like tinder.  The once imposing double door gate with interlocked metal grating to reinforce it was completely wiped out in an eyeblink!

Lind snapped forward in a blur as his claws dug into the dark brick of the wall.  Unlike what the defenders hoped, his claws shredded it like it was paper instead of weaving reinforced grade 6 material!

He also noticed 2 things of interest.

First, his flames were not going out.  Before, the traps were simply consumed and attacks shattered before it was all neutralized, but now the wall was actually catching fire!  Stone was burning!

Second, he had been too used to the terrifying level of planning the Fiends did in the Heaven Realm lands.  The current Fiends had been part of an Empire and were not fools but they were not at constant war.

Their soldiers were weak and relied too much on the demons to make up their numbers.  They also fled at the first sign of resistance to their techniques.

Lind recalled how terrified the Fiends had been after his first true attack against them.  He went from a World Realm ant they cared little for to someone worthy of killing at all costs.

These Fiends had no idea what he was at all and could not deal with him!  He did not let it go to his head and methodically ripped apart any weavings and broke up any sign of organized resistance.

The demons, despite being more numerous, ran as fast as the Fiends that were turned to ash in front of them.  It did not help that some of their fellows suffered similar fates.  Emerald flames would engulf a demon and leave behind a perfect corpse.

Thralls were littered everywhere and Lind used his abilities to the best effect.

While all focused on his breath attacks, his claws glowed as sigils were swiftly woven into powerful grade 7 weavings that held their strength.  Unlike anything else, his weavings came from his soul and seemed to retain their strength in weaving alone.

He could only guess that the Laws that were part of him were safe so long as his soul power was used to make it.  That, or like everything else, a single use would rip out all the Laws at once.

He planned for the latter and made several dense layers of weavings behind him.  They were simple but sinister things that would turn demonic Arts and artifacts into bombs by disrupting them.

That was the thing no one knew yet either, was his ability to use all 3 sets of Qi!

Demonic Qi was as stable as ever so it made a safer bet than natural Qi.  In his current circumstances, it would also draw the least attention.

The sun rose to its peak before he felt something coming at him.  It was not a Fiend, but a demon.  An Immortal Demon.

The man was heavily corrupted and had trouble moving his limbs that seemed far more twisted than they should be.

"So, the tiny wyrms reveal their true face at last?"  His voice was odd.  It was like the demon was speaking through an oscillation filter or something.  Liquid in his lungs maybe?

Lind's eyes flashed and anger filled him.

The demon was an Immortal but not because of demonic Qi, but Fiend Qi!  The Fiends had made him a puppet!  It was not the demon speaking, but a Fiend!

"Scared to face me, Fiend?  What did you promise this demon, to become an Immortal despite the lack of Laws?"  Fiends only needed to consume Immortals to advance but demons would still need Laws to comprehend to advance no matter how stable their cultivation foundations were.

"Afraid?  Of a single cowardly wyrm?  Hardly!"  Lind's eyes narrowed but in amusement, not anger.  They were trying to get a reaction out of him with that kind of insult.

His body began to shake as a booming laugh came out that seemed to catch the demon off guard.  Other fleeing demons and Fiends turned back in curiosity to see what got their attacker to laugh so much.

"I am sorry, you think I am insulted by such apparent baiting?  I am not attacking you because of any dragon race up here.  I am attacking you because I am ascended and I owe your race a great deal of payback for all you have killed!"  Lind's voice became laced with rage.

He had not been an idiot before.  He knew the limits of his power but he had lost friends and just as close as family people from his life to those monsters.  They came to take life as their resource as if they deserved to have all of existence bow to them for that reason alone!

The large shadow also loomed over them all and treated an entire reality as food for his cultivation.  How could he not be angry?  How could he not be swallowing the frustration and dealing with it as many had to?

"An ascender?  You think such transparent lies–"  Emerald flames exploded where the demon was but only air was caught!  The demon appeared far to the right yet shock was on its face.

"What was that?!"  It did not recognize that Qi Art at all!

"I do not recall saying I will explain it all.  I am here to kill you.  Whether it is right now or at sunset is up to you."  His words reached all nearby and before anyone could start running, all the Fiends and thralls burst into emerald light!

The thralls left behind perfect corpses but the Fiends were just gone!

The puppet in the air lost all its light in its eyes as emerald lightning ripped it apart!

[To all the residents of the Starbreaker Empire!  I have come to pay back the karma that is long overdue!  You have killed my family and friends for millennia!  I am here for you all!]

Lind grew in size to his full length of 5 kilometers and a massive weaving activated.  An emerald sheen now covered the entire Empire before anyone realized it was there!

All the demonic weavings had not just been about offense and defense, but turning the existing demonic wards into his own tools!

It took time and a Fiend had been kind enough to buy some for him.  How could he not thank them properly for that consideration?

Lind suddenly felt something shift in the sky and looked up in shock.  Black clouds gathered but not in simple anger.  It was almost like joy and happiness.

It was also very weak!  Compared to what he had experienced in the Heaven Realm land, the Wrath of Heaven here was barely at the level of the Sky Realm!

He welcomed the flow of energy and the power of Laws just barely got stronger in his weaving!  It was all it could do for him before the clouds dispersed.

[Heaven has spoken, the Empire falls today.]

The roar of a dragon marked the death of the Starbreaker Empire as the now more terrifying dome of emerald Qi struck down with bolts of lightning as a dragon burned down walls, and palaces like they were nothing but kindling!

All the power they held seemed like nothing compared to a single Immortal Dragon.
