Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 777 - 776 - Agreements

Chapter 777 - 776 - Agreements

The conversation had not gone far from where he had wanted but he actually felt like it had helped him consolidate things he had only grasped on a subconscious level.

Even his little trick with Heavenly energy went far better than planned.  It was like he just knew it would comply in that way if he wanted it too.

He wanted to study it more but he could feel time slipping away.  Pressure was building faster and faster yet ye still had a bit of it left.

His sliver had yet to fully form.

"I feel we have gone afar from where we intended but while your curiosity had been answered, I would like some help modifying the truth."  All 3 looked confused but he shrugged as he scratched the side of his cheek.

"Am I to understand boyo, that you want us to cover that little issue of how you overcame those 3 Immortals?"  Isabella actually cracked a smile as information was her game after all but Lind shook his head.

"The inability to resonate with 6 elementals I want spread factually so that ability is understood in case of need in the future.  Afterall, I plan to reopen the ascension pools."  He simply let that bomb fall that made both Valkyrie and Isabella spit their tea out.

Soltara actually looked up hopefully and he nodded slowly.

"The closer I get to Immortality, the more I can feel what is wrong with those areas an ascension pool used to be.  It is like something clamped down to save us all."  His words just kept shocking them as they looked at him pointedly.

He then revealed the simple truth that if they were completely cut off, none of them would be alive to talk about it.

His revelations made hope bloom but Isabella frowned.

"How would hiding this information be helpful to that goal?"  Lind looked at her grimly.

"You tell me, what would anyone do if they learned that if they prodded me in the right way I could bring down the edict of Heaven and Earth?"  He left out the bit about Divine Karma as it no longer applied but it would not stop people from trying.

She immediately grasped his point and why it would be detrimental in the long run.  Heaven and Earth were fair.  If someone tried to abuse their indulgence, it could only lead to very bad things.

Divine bloodlines were protected for instance but some tried to intentionally steal them for themselves only to be punished severely by tribulation or the Wrath of Heaven.

Fools did not care about reality so long as they thought they could get an advantage.

"All right but what are you offering in concrete benefits?  A vague promise that may or may not happen is not enough."  Fair enough, Isabella simply was pragmatic which Lind easily accepted.

"Oh I think these will do."  He then proceeded to summon several jade slips that his quickly imprinted and gave to her.

Once she examined them, her skin actually went paler than before!

"Th–th–this is first edition comprehension to Laws!"  The main hurdle for most Heaven Realms was transforming their Laws but he just handed out a way to improve that process like it was candy to a child!

"I cannot safely distribute that as I have in the past.  I will teach my children and a few close ones, but after that, I think it would be better if someone stronger distributed that."  He was not wrong.

His previous revelations, even the most recent about 6 elementals and their slivers, were relatively tame and helpful to all, but comprehending Laws was desperately desired by Immortals and Sun Tiers alike!

They would actively demand Lind Frey teach them non-stop and the Alliance might actually allow it!

While they recently had an influx of millions of Immortals, they did not grow on trees.  Further, when the Fiend War started, they had far more than even the present yet they were now all dead!

It showed how terrifying the Fiends could be and they had only refined their techniques as time passed.

If Lind's knowledge could help recover that loss in the future, there is no power in the universe that would stop people from getting at it!

If Isabella held it, however, the Wangluo Syndicate was unassailable to other powers and had enough of its own strength to stop a stampede.

Besides, she could make a killing selling the information.

"HA HA HA HA HA HA!  I like how you think boy!  You just made this old woman's century!"  She would happily cover his secrets in return for the profits those jade slips would rake in.

"Senior Valkyrie, I also have a request."  He turned to her and she seemed to take on the mantle of her office but he simply smiled.

"Given my research, my tribulation will be problematic.  I request assistance to contain what can be contained."  That perked up all 3 but Valkyrie had many questions.

"I will need more concrete terms than that."  Lind nodded but then seemed to have to think about it.

"I am not sure of the quality I will face but that is irrelevant compared to these 2 facets:  Progenitor and 6 elemental."  Isabella nodded at the first but leaned forward on the latter.  "I suspect my unique situation will trigger a conflict due to being a divine dragon as well."

All 3 became grim at that certainty.  Heaven would celebrate him but also put him through a harsher trial than others.  How would that manifest?

A massive tribulation was indeed the most likely outcome.  The issue was which part would be where?

"Very well, I can understand that but would like to bring in the Hellfire and Divine Sword Sects as well."  He nodded as that made perfect sense.

"I will be going deeper into the Sands of Tribulation to be safe but doubt that will contain it any better than others."  All 3 nodded in agreement.

"Is there anything else?"  Lind looked at Soltara but did not answer right away.  They enjoyed the tea and the quiet.  They absorbed all they had covered but he finally sighed as there was one more subject.

"I do not like the lack of response from the Fiends after our clean up job.  I mean they attacked but then pulled back like it was no big deal.  It was a very big deal."  All 3 nodded but did not see his concern.

"You think they will plan something big?  This has been brought up at many meetings."  He shook his head and pointed at himself.

"What better way to nip the problem in the bud than to wipe out the source?  The best time to come after me is when no one can watch my back."  Understanding flooded them but Valkyrie sneered.

"They can try but we will stop them.  Since you have helped clean out the filth infesting all our powers, there should be no issues."  He heard her words but narrowed his eyes.

"I have no faith in certainties and expect the worst.  It is part of why I am still alive.  Just keep an eye open is all I ask."  Valkyrie nodded but still felt he was being too paranoid.

Of course, she recalled the drastic changes that came upon the Fiends out of the blue only a few decades ago that nearly wiped them all out.  In that light, it was perhaps wiser to indeed assume the worst.

The rest of the conversation was more of Lind explaining his most recent elemental theories and Soltara discussing the possibility of Elementals entering the Sanctuary Empire.

The fact she felt safe to bring it up in front of Isabella showed her trust in the old woman.  It also showed the 2 Immortals how much he had impressed the Elementals.

They all looked forward to the future with hope.

"Are you sure it was human?"  A cloaked figure slipped from one shadow to the next as another figure followed close behind.

They were in a small village but had received a report that brought larger attention.  A massive pool of blood that sizzled when touched by Qi.

"As sure as we can be.  Aether children also have red blood but are usually tinted by their elements from humans so it could be one of them."  The 2 figures finally came across a street vacant of any life.

No rats, cats, or anything came near it.  At the end of a small alley, was the very thing the report told them.

Liquid blood, that should have long dried, was everywhere.  Someone or something had been ripped apart but the lack of bestial noises and devastation made it seem likely it was human.

They produced a few vials with various liquids they tried on different areas.

It not only sizzled but vile black Qi made them back off quickly but nothing else happened.

"It is not a Fiend kill nor is it a thrall.  What is this?"  They stood over it and had no idea a third shadow slowly rose up behind them.

"Troublesome, but easily fixed now that you are here."  Neither could react as they were ripped apart.  Their blood was blue and revealed to be demons.  Their aura was peak Sun Tier but the shadow killed them like they were nothing.

The instant the demonic blood touched the human blood, it dissolved.

"Tck, when asking for a favor, should not be so messy covering their tracks.  I will kill the thorn in their side but for my own reasons."  The shadow vanished and nothing was left behind in the simple alley.

It was as if the night swallowed it all.
