Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 776 - 775 - Secret to Immortality

Chapter 776 - 775 - Secret to Immortality

Isabella had seen so many things, some horrifying and others awe inspiring but seeing that young man commanding Heaven and Earth like it was perfectly natural brought all she understood into question.  She had always prided herself on having all the true knowledge of the Heaven Realm lands at her fingertips but she felt like she knew nothing at that moment.

Before her sat someone that refused to accept his fate and had scraped all the pieces together on his own and from wherever he could find it.  She knew his story, most did, but no one really knew.

Only at that moment did she really grasp how little any of them knew.

"I have been plucking away at each level but Heaven Realm, surprisingly, had more secrets than I expected."  He then began to have more Qi flow out of him.  What shocked her was what she felt!

Demonic Qi danced around him with no sign of an artifact but also another kind of Qi that left her feeling terrified and awe stricken all at the same time.

What was that?!  He gave no explanation but his power was on par with an Immortal at that moment!

"Everyone thinks the Heaven Realm is about incorporating missing elements but that is not it at all.  Heaven Realm is the secret to Immortality plain and simple."  She did not argue with that interpretation but then he conjured a display for them.

"Body Refining Realm is as stated.  We all understand our bodies early on by instinct but the Qi takes it to the peak with some intentional techniques.  The real beginning is the Soul Realm.  Do you know how I became a Soul Realm?"  He looked at Isabella but she shrugged.  She had not cared to look into that as it was as old as time.

"It was an accident."  Shock flooded all 3 that time.  Even Soltara could not believe him.

"I have a Talent, Innate Cultivator, without it, I would have never become a true cultivator at all because I did not believe one whit what I was taught back then.  It was just the way it was, but when I contemplated each of the 6 elements separately, a core appeared in my dantian until all the power flooded my body and an emerald flame took up the center of my dantian."  His words were impossible.

No one could break through like that!  It was completely antithetical to all they knew!

"My point is that if I could do it by accident, even due to a Talent, it is all wrong from the ground up.  It took years for me to carefully figure out to temper my cores ahead of advancing after several warnings, but that was the beginning."  He had 6 faux cores floating in the air for them to see.

"I have many questions but what are you indicating exactly?"  Valkyrie was the one who spoke but they all agreed they wanted to know more.

"The Soul Realm is simple.  It is about the birth of elemental Qi within us.  We have to master it but that is also where the Heaven Realm begins."  That comment brought all of them up sharply.

"I have made similar mistakes but because of my complicated path, I got lucky.  I had to hold back and take tiny steps while others could explode forward.  I nearly died more times than I care to think about, but it all added up in the end."  As he spoke, the cores transformed into fonts, then the crystal shards all knew, but his words opened their eyes.

They saw it, they couldn't not see it.

The cores were seeds nurtured by comprehension and effort to burst forth like flowers to connect to the world around them but always with the intent to move forward.  The Sky Realm was actually building up power to leave the mortal shell behind but Immortality was not so easy to crack.

They finally saw all 6 elements interacting in ways never truly grasped before and it finally clicked.

Even though most cultivators were some combinations of elements, they always had to know how all 6 worked with and against each other.  The reason the Heaven Realm forced them to make secondary elements was because Immortality was not a partial or half step, but the whole package.

One could not become Immortal without grasping the totality of existence.  All the elements had to come together to unlock the door to Immortality!

How could they have been so blind?!  Everyone thought it was about balance or grasping their own elements better they already mastered with comprehension of the others, yet that was not the case at all!

They had gotten extremely lucky, but no wonder over 10 million candidates came from the Law Binding under his tutelage.  Lind truly understood more about how the Heaven Realm worked than anyone before.

"Every step a cultivator starts with is to build the foundation to Immortality but we are not always aware of it."  Lind dismissed the Qi and the power of Heaven like it was easy!  "We 6 elementals may struggle up the mountain of cultivation at the beginning but we benefit later because of it.  Our harmonies lead to Immortality so long as we can overcome that long hurdle put in front of us."

"It is not a bad statement but there is no 'secret' to Immortality in there."  Isabella spoke up after all that.  It was true that Lind had said several things that were very interesting and likely were being compiled into yet another set of jade slips he would ship out enmasse to as many as possible, but certainly none of it was a secret as he stated.

It would be more accurate to call it a clarification if nothing else but his smile told her he was not done.

"Ah but that is where you are wrong.  Tell me, why do you think 6 elementals skip the Star Tier entirely?"  Again, this was no longer a secret but it was something of a pointed discussion.

There was no exception that so long as a 6 elemental could take that step, they were automatic Moon Tiers.  The quality could vary like anyone else but none of them got stuck in the Star Tier.

"You already have all 6 elements, so what is the point of being in that tier?"  Isabella was getting irritated but asked anyway.

"I thought something similar but that did not fully account for the harmony.  That usually trips us up based on previous realms.  I thought perhaps since we tempered and comprehended all of it at once it might be enough, but that changed when I visited the Elementals."  Soltara sat up at his words.

The other 2 women also looked at her but did not understand what he was referring to.

"The short version is that Elementals do almost the opposite of what cultivators do.  They are already made up of elements and Qi but become more solid as they advance.  Yet, they cannot skip the tiers at all."  An interesting observation but what did that tell him?

"It was only when I had a rather unfortunate experience that I grasped the most important difference between Elementals and us.  They cannot stop their cultivation at any time.  They in fact have to restrict it or they could die far more easily than us.  In other words, the process occurs irrespective of their will."  He seemed to emphasize the last part but only Soltara gasped.

"What?  What is the big deal?"  Valkyrie asked but Soltara was the one that answered.

"Cultivators, by and large, have to struggle to advance because they need to get the elements to work smoothly together in whatever combination they have.  This leads to the need of pills, Qi stones, and generally massive resource investment but how would you describe most 6 elementals?"  Her question had a slowly dawning horror cross both women's faces.

It was true it took a lot more Qi for 6 elementals to advance but unlike other cultivators, they could usually become more efficient as they ascended!

While elixirs to help recover were downed like water compared to other cultivators, the actual cultivation progress could not be done that way!  An entire segment of cultivators moved forward regardless of their wishes!

They just need to step into a Realm and then it was simply a matter of time to reach the peak in the current age!

"By the spirits!  How has no one noticed this?"  Isabella understood!  The 6 elementals were the damned proof!  The Heaven Realm was the key to Immortality because it was where all cultivators could grasp all 6 elements!

The reason 6 elementals did not need the Star Tier was because in a sense they had cultivated the Star Tier their entire lives!  They had nothing more to learn and were ready to condense a moon instantly!

It was not skipping the Tier but simply finishing it!  It was not simply having the elements but grasping the balance of them to move forward!

The secret to Immortality was to understand all 6 elements as a whole, not simply aligning them to the previous path!

Once they saw it, they understood why so few Immortals were being born.  The vast majority of cultivators trusted the power they already had and simply sped through adding the secondary elements to make them stronger but not really grasp the balance of it all!

Those cultivators got stuck in the Star Tier or maybe the Moon Tier!  It was so simple but hard to teach at the same time!

It would be like telling all cultivators that to move forward, they had to be willing to discard possibly all the lessons of their entire lives if necessary!

All 3 turned to Lind and he shrugged.

"I made the same mistake and it slowed down my progress immensely.  It  was only when the Elementals opened my mind to other possibilities that my mind considered other alternatives.  Further, I have made many discoveries inside the Inheritance of Lost Knowledge.  The end result of which is I have a much clearer path forward.  Not that it helps."  He sipped at his tea as he saw the question marks over each of their heads.

"Understanding all I explained does not change the fact 6 elementals have never come this far.  While I have not figured it all out, there is one thing I have come to realize."  Lind now looked grim at that moment.  "A 4 sided sliver does not work for me.  I think I need more."

Now all 3 Immortals were of the same mind.  That was impossible!

"Boyo, all the rest I can begin to wrap my head around and even agree we need to have serious considerations about how we develop our next generations, but that is absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, impossible."  Her words made the other 2 nod but Lind then smirked as a new projection was put up.

It took a moment for them to figure out what they were seeing but slowly their jaws dropped open.

It was an ephemeral dragon snoozing below a vague shape slowly coming into focus.  The streams of energy were nascent Laws closing in around that shape left no doubt.it was his dantian.

The problem was, while the vague shape had no final shape, it already had 5 sides!

His proto-sliver was already more than 4 sides!

"Did you have any more questions?"  The smug smirk made 2 of them irritated but Soltara simply smiled wide back at him.  The man was a monster without question.  What else would someone be called that had that going on?!
