Chapter 773 - 772 - Heaven is Fair but the Emperor is not

The swift strike and removal of 3 Immortal Elementals shocked the Alliance as well as the Molten Sect.  They had hoped Lind could intervene and use politics where force had failed.

Yet, he instead just removed the people in question in less than a day without a single battle!

If he had his Immortals do it personally, it would be one thing, but according to all reports, it was 30,000 Heaven Realms!  It should have been impossible since their enemy was a Shard Tier.

Maybe, just maybe, with 30,000 Immortals and a lot of planning, it could be done, but Heaven Realms?!

The Sanctuary Empire already had a good feeling of belonging but pride was not something they had outside of their products.  There simply had been no major battles to take pride in exactly.

The fact their Emperor routed out many thralls and spies made them stand up straighter but now, they were swaggering.

So what if they faced Immortals, even the Heaven Realms of the Sanctuary Empire can take them down!

Naturally, this brought a swift response in the form of Valkyrie shattering space to get to the Empire immediately.

The capitol was as golden colored in the setting sun as always but the atmosphere was like a party just finding its second wind, not reaching the end of the day!  Taverns were full of laughter and even normally reserved cultivators were imbibing ale or wine in amounts that would make them legendary!

It was just that kind of event that made people happy to be part of something.  Doing the impossible, breaking the mold, it always made them feel alive!

Valkyrie suppressed her aura to the maximum but was bothered that no one stopped her. Normally, even for her, to come to another power unannounced was a violation of the Alliance rules.

She had come before and had an easy entrance usually but this time the guards did not even flicker at her presence!

Instead she received a message on par with her strength!

[Fellow Daoist, please join us at the imperial palace.]

Who was that?

There were no Shard Tiers yet in the Empire, so who was it that she did not recognize them?  The number of Shard Tiers on their side could be counted with 1 hand and she was the only one really active.

The others were just too old to put up a fight or were never combat oriented in the first place.

The Fiends Immortals were relatively fixed so it was an endurable situation but the future of the Sanctuary Empire actually gave them all a lot of hope.

Still, that was the future, not so soon!  Fey Frey of all of the Immortals was the most likely to advance, but that was still thousands if not hundreds of thousands of years away!

She arrived at the main hall but kept herself hidden, yet Lind Frey looked right at her!  He was still in the Sun Tier, she was sure, but her grade 7 formation was seen through instantly!

He also felt terrifying to her!  It was like looking at a Shard Tier, not a Sun Tier in that instant!  It was gone the next second but she felt a shiver in her soul.

A monster.  Lind Frey was a monster!

Shortly after she arrived, she recognized Gravis leading 2 divisions of their army through the main streets.  There was a carriage with enough restrictive and defensive weaving next to formations to make even her wonder if she could get free at all.

It was the entourage at the heart of the 2 divisions that made her frown but still nod with respect at the same time.

There was a voluptuous woman with shifting skin color that was hanging belly down with a wrap covering her upper body but loose robes on the lower one.  Her luxurious hair was ratty and splitting even to mortal eyes.  Her once fine face was tear stained as she clearly had been crying yet none of the soldiers were moved.

Of course, she was only a Sliver Tier so Valkyrie could easily capture her but the problem was the beings holding her were Heaven Realm.

The feeling of being without her Qi was still sharp in her mind but these ants could do what no one else could.  Why?

The other person trussed up in a similar fashion still had only her robes on but was not in a much better state.  Her face was also beautiful but full of impotent rage.  Her eyes were like golden daggers staring at the world.

The instant Valkyrie came in range, she felt her formation begin to break apart but then emerald light stopped it!  She snapped her head at Lind Frey only to see him smile at her.  Harmonies!

The Elementals could not stop harmonies at all!

Any 6 elemental could take them down because there was some restriction on their normal abilities?  How did he know that?!

The procession swiftly came to the main palace entrance on the parade ground.  It easily accommodated the 2 divisions as they shifted aside for the carriage.

Only when the dark lacquered wood door opened to reveal a third Elemental did Valkyrie realize one had surrendered.

"So, he gave that one dignity but stripped the other 2 of all illusions.  You have become colder, Lind Frey."  She had heard rumors he had suffered a heart demon but it seemed he still had changed from the kind scholar she once heard about.

Whether that was good or bad, she did not know.

"Uri, you seem to have done better than I expected since our last encounter.  Tell me, did you surrender out of the hassle of resisting or because of Melar?"  Valkyrie narrowed her eyes.  Lind knew these people?!

"It was not my idea to kill him but I was under no illusion how she viewed us after that.  Besides, I am not sure what plan she really had.  I just wanted a way out."  Lind clearly did not believe a word of it.

"Perhaps, but since you surrendered, you will be given to Senior Soltara to deal with.  I wash my hands of you."  Uri paled as another woman stepped forward.  A Shard Tier!

It was the one that messaged her!

The woman Uri was then picked up quite literally and floated over to her side.  Valkyrie took back keeping her dignity as all watched on in the hall.

"Now, as for you two…"  Lind sat on his throne with his emerald robes and he also had his hair left loose to frame his tanned face but it only leant gravitas in that instance.  His emerald eyes were cold and left no mercy in them.

The Heavens were fair, but an Emperor was not.

"ANT!  I will stomp on your life like the insect it is–" Emerald Qi sealed Ulta's mouth shut and there was nothing she could do.  Other cultivators felt their Qi blocked off but not a single 6 elemental noticed a thing.

"You will get your chance to rant mindlessly later.  Elara, your acts were not as dark as Ulta's but you still left a kind of devastation in your wake.  Why?"  Lind actually leaned forward as he was clearly curious but what was he talking about?

The woman, Elara, blushed but seemed to no longer care.

"I simply wanted a distraction.  You took away our abilities and our home.  I felt ripping those happy lives apart in my own way was revenge for me."  Valkyrie instantly understood and frowned deeply.

Lind joined her on that.

"While I will not hold you accountable for willing partners, there were confirmed reports of others you took despite their reluctance.  You inflicted pain and suffering that no elixir or pill can heal.  I will not let you off lightly for that."  He then turned to Ulta and his harmonic Qi vanished.

"What deal with the Fiends did you make?!  How are you defying the natural order?!  YOU ARE ANTS, ALL OF YOU!"  Lind sighed as he looked on but then waved his hand.  A demoness stepped forward.

"Tessa, you have wanted to know how far you've come.  I believe in you, so show her how weak she really is."  The chains binding her vanished and Ulta disappeared as her physical strength was far beyond anyone in the room, yet the expected assassination did not occur.

Poison or acid colored flame lined the ground and Ulta screamed.  Her body began to burn with horrific demonic Qi!  Elementals were of natural Qi so she was especially vulnerable.

Tessa then used a spear infused with all 6 demonic elements to slash and attack Ulta.  While the Elemental woman was powerful, she had no access to Qi abilities!  Further, she could not stop the demoness at all.

Valkyrie noted other demons were just as affected as other cultivators by the Elemental skill.  Why were 6 elementals able to use all their elements unhindered as well as their harmony?

"You can stop trying, Ulta.  Our elements and harmony are one.  You cannot stop a soul from working no matter how hard you try."  His words were for everyone and understanding flooded them all.

"LIES!  You are using Fiend Qi!  You must be!"  Everyone knew that was a blatant denial of reality but watching a Shard Tier be schooled by a Sun Tier was disturbing.  Ulta then glowed with an aura and tried to dominate by that alone.

The room became still as many Heaven Realms and below finally bowed to her power but a certain group did not.  Not a single 6 elemental reacted at all!

"Sigh, if the Seniors would be so kind as to protect the crowd, I would appreciate it.  Senior Valkyrie, please protect the ministers to my left and the esteemed senior from the Wangluo Syndicate please protect the rest."  Valkyrie snapped her head to the sky as an old woman appeared up there!

`She had felt nothing but the old crone had come!

"Heh, I suppose I am slipping in my old age."  Both complied with his requests but many questions were in Valkyrie's mind.  How was he able to sense them so easily!

"You think either of you weaklings can–"  Before any more words could come, Lind suddenly vanished and slammed Ulta into the ground.  The stone shattered under his power which spoke volumes about it.

Peak grade 6 stone should not shatter to a Heaven Realm strength.  Lind had exceeded that power!

"Now the fate of you both will be decided."  His words were cold as all looked on in shock.
