Chapter 774 - 773 - Power of Harmony vs Elementals
Chapter 774 - 773 - Power of Harmony vs Elementals
Lind had already known resonance would not work on a single 6 elemental but Tessa had proven beyond a shadow of a doubt how devastating they could be.
Ulta had no access to her regular abilities so she could not fend off even a basic attack like spreading her harmony along the floor.
She seemed happy with her results and Lind nodded at her as Ulta tried to suppress the room but again, 6 elementals were not affected at all.
It only confirmed how limited Ulta had become but Lind was not pleased. After asking the Shard Tiers observing to protect the innocent and weak cultivators, he went into action.
Unlike the rest, he began to grasp that he had changed even more than expected.
Incorporating his professions into his soul had made his strength explode. He felt like a great weight had been lifted from his body and it was the easiest thing to slam Ulta into the ground.
The stone cracked which made him wince. The refining and Forger guilds would give him hell about that.
Ulta stared daggers at him but he did not care.
"Tessa, you have done well. Truly." He saw her smile wide as she seemed to finally believe him. After her near comatose state and recovery, she had doubts about her own path and cultivation. She had awakened with an entirely new dantian and body in a way.
Now, she truly knew she had mastered her new path.
Kal was in the crowd and was tearing up in happiness. Despite how far he had come, he was still the little brother to Tessa.
"I–will–kill–" Lind shifted his arm to scales and claws which drew energy from her body. She did not have blood in a real sense. Solid though their bodies were, they were not like other beings.
Energy leaked instead which actually seemed to finally get through to her.
"I spared your life but you used that chance to hurt others. I am responsible and will take care of them but this ends now." His voice made several shiver but his family and friends smiled wide.
The 2 divisions also seemed pumped by his words.
Ulta struggled but she found her physical body not up to the task. With Qi, Lind was far stronger than her.
"Since you are slow, I will explain better. We 6 elementals from the very beginning of the Soul Realm must not only master but incorporate the elements into our harmony. In other words, we are one with the elements themselves. You can affect the base elements in the world but 6 elementals are a world unto themselves." His words actually made her stop and stare at him in horror.
Only as she felt his power and saw no action to defend the division members in the hall did she grasp the terror of 6 elementals.
"Ulta, for your crimes and offenses, I am afraid I must imprison you for the rest of your life. You will never see the light of day ever again after this. I would kill you but death is a release from your punishment. I am not so kind." He then bound her in even more terrifying chains than before.
Gravis pulled her aside as he turned to Elara.
Ulta had killed and conquered many before the Alliance power scared her into more tame ideas. Still, she had made far too many suffer!
She wanted to resist but the new chains left her with no strength at all!
"Take her away." There were 3 soldiers that bowed and took her from the room.
Elara looked terrified despite her disheveled state, she was still a beauty to behold, but Lind only felt anger.
Ulta at least was open and clear about her enmity but Elara simply passed time destroying lives.
The reports were horrific to him. Some willingly joined her and he had no pity for them but many others could not say no and simply allowed her to do what she wished.
Families had been destroyed as if it was no big deal to her.
"Speak, it is your last chance." Lind returned to his throne and sat in judgment of her.
Elara felt control return to her but the cold eyes of Lind made her kneel in fear. She was far weaker than Ulta and Lind Frey had thrashed her like a child!
"Merciful Lord! I simply wanted to indulge and meant no harm–" She felt his aura slam into her and it was like an Immortal far above her!
How was he so strong?!
Lind did not care for her mood or excuses. He was, in fact, quite tired of the political games people played.
He had seen many vile people slip away from justice because of their realm or power, but he was done being nice.
"Elara, you will be serving a very different sentence from Elara. Instead of being locked away, you will instead attend to the sick and injured as an assistant to the guilds under my Empire. You will not be able to complain nor escape your fate." Elara looked like all the life had been sucked out of her.
Further, she had 3 of the 6 elementals assigned to her to keep her in line! With that restriction, she had no hope of escaping!
"If there are no further–" Lind was about to dismiss the current audience when Soltara stood up in her tan robes.
"Emperor Frey, while I can appreciate your need to punish these 3 even further due to their crimes, can you not show mercy to them at all?" Lind found her attitude confusing but then recalled how Elementals worked.
Their Soul Cores were of the utmost importance to them!
Still, he did not think Soltara was simply asking because she wanted those nor being kind. She looked detached as if his answer had no bearing on her at all.
Soltara was fully in support of his exile and punishment back in the village but that was a cut and dried matter compared to the current one.
Lind sat on his throne and let his full aura flare for all to see for the first time. It was still in the Heaven Realm but many trembled at its might. A ghost of a dragon shape rose from him in his emerald Qi as well!
Ulta, Uri, and Elara reacted unlike anyone else in the room. Many were left in awe or worries of the future balance of power, but those 3 felt terror in the very depths of their souls!
"You three knew you had been banished and punished because you tried to consume me in your village. An act all of your kind abhors yet you had no problem keeping senior Soltara and others at bay while luring me in with one of your own children." Any sympathy some might have had for their good looks was wiped away in that instant.
Cultivators are a greedy bunch but the war with the Fiends had made hard lines in the sand none would cross.
Many powerful cultivators had witnessed far weaker men and women sacrifice their lives to save children or strangers with families too many times not to be moved.
Any that willingly used them as bait or shields were scum not worth keeping alive. Lind was already being merciful to let them have their lives.
Soltara nodded slightly but only he noticed. He sighed internally. Honestly, who would want to be emperor if they always have to put on such shows.
"Oh ho! So you did get access to the Elemental village? It was worth coming just for that tidbit alone!" The old woman in the air was heard by all but Lind looked up and frowned.
"Esteemed senior, please join me in the Golden Pavilion later to discuss compensation for your help." The old woman frowned but Valkyrie smirked. It was a polite and more than expected invitation but it was also a command that the old crone could not refute!
"Senior Valkyrie, if you are so inclined, please join us." Now she frowned. He was not telling her to come but she could if she wanted?! How rude!
The old crone actually smirked at that and the tension building vanished.
Lind turned back to the crowd and suppressed his aura back inside his body.
"As I said before, death is a release for these 3. They have power that could be put to better use in some cases while others clearly have no desire to admit their wrongdoing." He then looked hard at the room. "Anyone that has a problem with my punishments is free to come 'discuss' it with me."
His tone left no room for imagination and not a single person had the slightest thought to question him on the matter further.
"Good, then take them away! This event is now over." He stood up and left. He ignored Shoti smirking at him while Cyntilla and Qing were shaking their shoulders in a very suspicious way!
He did not like acting like that at all but it worked damn it! He might have left faster than he planned to but he left to prepare to receive his guests.
He was damned tired of putting on a show but next he had to face an unknown. For all the Wangluo Syndicate held most information in the Alliance, very little was known about the woman that had come to his Empire.
He was glad things had gone to plan but the reports made it clear that 30,000 was barely enough to handle the mess those 3 had created. Gravis' solution also helped the Molten Sect focus on rebuilding without having to worry about resources for a year.
It was more than enough and he knew they would be wise enough not to abuse it after his little show.
Death was a mercy stance that made people really think if it was worth crossing you. Lind was right afterall. Death was an end to suffering one way or the other. If he only used it as a mercy, then his punishments would be terrifying to contemplate.
The fact he did not really have that many ready to go was not something his enemies needed to know.
