Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 770 - 769 - Missed Connections

Chapter 770 - 769 - Missed Connections

Lind was happy to see Bren and more that he was a Sliver Tier.  His similarity to his father made a twinge of sadness pass through his heart.  So many friends had died while he was locked away in the Law Binding.

Solon was one of many but he was hardly surprised the man left an impression behind.  He was always one for adventure but clearly fatherhood had inspired him far beyond what Lind remembered.

He had only appeared on the teleportation pad a short while ago where a slim woman was panicking trying to figure out what was wrong.  It only took him a moment to figure out the time dilation was still in effect when he left.

A few moments to him transitioned to normal time and got a bit mixed up.

Where time passed faster for him before, he had to get slowed down enough and it took longer for him to be teleported out.

It was likely a safety feature but it seemed to have caused havoc.

He shortly learned his ride and 2 others were waiting for him.  Unlike anyone else, he just needed to know where he was going and he could find his way there far faster than anyone alive.

He actually flew through the corridors and the Guild Master must have had orders not to stop him as many a relieved functionary waved him on.

Now, he saw Soltara, who he was very happy to see, and Bren with Lian.  Guild Master Justine simply deflated by the bar but he needed to talk with her before he left.  He was confused why Lian was there, however.

"Lian, why are you here?  I was going to send a message when I was ready."  He spoke aloud for Justine's sake as it perked her up to know things had not been to his plan either.

"Apologies, my Emperor, but many issues have arisen in your short absence, not least of which are meetings with key figures in the Alliance."  He arched an eyebrow but Bren volunteered information.

"The spirit cursed Fiends have become more active.  Several Immortal battles have occurred and they still seem more powerful than before.  They are in desperate need of new weapons with your harmony at the core of it."  Lind sighed but nodded at his words.

"Senior Justine, may I impose on you a bit?"  The woman jumped up, happy to help as clearly she was grateful to have been saved.  He quickly tossed her a few items and everyone in the room was stunned he had them on hand.

The artifacts were a giant lens mounted on a bracket to swivel as needed with several hovering artifacts that could be imbued with air or earth to fly.  Air was better, but gravity manipulation would work in a pinch.

She quickly relayed them to her subordinates and retrieved Lind's property.

He was glad to have back the rest but began to guide Bren on his Immortal path.  The oddity of seeing a Sun Tier guide an Immortal was odd but considering who it was, most brushed it off.

[You have come far so quickly, Lind Frey.]  Soltara's voice appeared in his head but he did not get distracted.

"I see, that makes sense!"  Lind smiled as Bren consolidated his foundation and began to plan out his cultivation path going forward.

"Keep your siblings safe and give my love to your mother.  My spirit weapons love her."  It was the absolute truth.  No matter what he made, the spirits loved her.

She helped match people up to armor, weapons, and artifacts with spirits far better than anyone alive.

She lived in the Sanctuary Empire but was not part of it.  Lind respected her choices on that.

Bren joined the Divine Sword Sect as soon as he could hold a sword.  His father lived long enough to see that day.

Lind reviewed the list of requests and frowned.

"Why did the Molten Sect want to see me?  They are a support sect and my mother or other alchemists could help them."  The majority of requests were more political than practical but could be resolved with messages rather than meetings.

The Molten Sect, as the name implied, was situated in a volcano region and had both alchemists and refiners of very high quality but were only a high power.

They were nowhere near the Line but had been demanding contact with him.  It was at least 3 attempts too.

"I do not know but Empress Ethry stated you should meet with them as soon as possible."  Those words from Lian made him curious but he marked it and a few others as priority.

He had only been gone 3 months for the world but thousands of years for him.

"Senior–"  Soltara waved him off with a smile.

"No need for that between us.  You have come very far, do you have questions?"  He had many but it was not the time.

"Please come with us back to the Empire if you are able to."  She nodded but he finally turned to Justine.

"Guild Master, you have a Divine Inheritance in your control."  His words made all in the room jump in shock.  He relayed his experience with the spirit in part but not in total.  He did reveal the threshold was very strict and he accidentally met it.

He did not reveal but stated the spirit held the qualifications.

Justine understood they had to revise their access to the Inheritance a bit for security reasons as any Divine Inheritance was a resource of great importance to the entire Alliance.

"I will work with the Alliance to protect the Inheritance of Lost Knowledge."  Justine appreciated his notice as she bowed and left the room.  It was clear Lind had delivered his message on several levels.

He was nearing the next realm, had guidance, and connections even deeper than others knew.  It was his form of thanks to let her see it.

"Now, why are you here, Soltara?"  While he had wanted to see her, coming to him was not what he expected.  He had benefited superficially just then, but he had far to go.

"I have heard rumors about our exiles even in our isolation.  Ulta has apparently become something of a nuisance in very little time."  Lind frowned but Bren and Lian seemed to know nothing.

"What has she been doing?"  Lind had spared her life but with severe restrictions.  Exile was on top of all that.

"She still retains her knowledge of the ancestors and it is valuable.  She has also enticed more hunters than normal into the Forest of Gaia."  He pinched his nose and had a cup of strong ale float over.

It had a tart but pleasant taste to it.  The crystal mug also made the drink enhance his Qi.

The dark leather couch was comfortable but he was focused on what to do next.

"Do you have their location?"  Soltara nodded and actually frowned at that moment.

"The Molten Sect."  Lind did not find that a coincidence.  He brought up the request but there was no information yet the date coincided not long after Ulta was exiled.

"Uncle Frey, may I ask who Senior Soltara is?"  Bren spoke up and Lind smiled as he spoke of his time with the Elementals.  Bren lit up as telling stories was one of his favorite times.  His father had told many stories about Lind and now Lind told stories about his current adventures.

"Senior, it is a true pleasure to meet you!"  He bowed low and Soltara smiled at him.

"I sadly only know of your father but he seemed a good friend to Lind."  Lind sat back and Soltara answered many questions Bren had as well.  Lind had only been able to help with the Laws after his recent study session but he paid attention as some of what Soltara said helped him.

A few days passed before all of them flew back on the skyship to the Sanctuary Empire.  Lind already talked to his wives and was stunned that ll of them were Immortals now.  Not only that, but Hei and Zao had reached the Heaven Realm!

Miles was a bit behind but hardly slow by human standards.  Eldrian had been crying that he was not around and Cyntilla was well on her way with a new baby!

His mother and Firella had stern words for him leaving so soon but both congratulated him on his progress.

The skyship took a week to get back but he noticed something odd.

Bren was spending an inordinate amount of time with Soltara.  While at first it was just teaching, he began to just talk to her.  He was not flirting but he smirked as Soltara seemed to be showing signs of falling for him.

She was smiling far more than he was used to and she often forgot about others when talking to him.  He confirmed with Lian that Bren had no partners thus far as he was devoted to his cultivation.

He just sat back and let things unfold without interference.  It could take some time but after concentrating on the darkness of the war for so long, seeing such brightness made him happy.

The ship finally arrived home to find an envoy of the Molten Sect waiting.  Ulta had clearly been causing issues and the sect had come looking for him!
