Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 769 - 768 - Slight Disaster

Chapter 769 - 768 - Slight Disaster

"What do you mean the Inheritance is still active?"  Justine felt a vein throb on her forehead as her Moon Tier assistant knelt in fear.  She was very attractive but usually more serious so she came off cold to others.

Right now, her violet hair was plastered to her face as she had run all the way through the maze of corridors to give the report.  The communication stones could be intercepted and they would not want the news spreading.

"Per protocol, all 99 returned participants have been accounted for but the formation is still running and 1 is missing!"  The words made Justine now break out in a very cold sweat.  Lind Frey was still inside!

If all 99 others were accounted for, then he was somehow still inside.  Combined with the earlier report, it was not good at all!  Had something gone wrong?!  He had been very cooperative and had 0 reason to try and overstay his welcome.

On top of that, he even left all but a single spatial treasure behind.  It was bound to him so it could not leave but also it was examined with his permission!

Basically, there were no holes in their security so what had gone wrong?!

"Double check–"  Before she finished speaking, a jade stone lit up.  Not just any stone either, one given to her by Emperor Lind Frey!

[Helion Trading Guild, this is General Lian.  We are enroute to secure the Emperor, please respond.]

That was too fast!

What was wrong with powers being so on time?!  Emperor Frey was not a child, he could arrange his own transport!

Justine knew it was simply bad timing but the efficiency of the Sanctuary Empire was actually quite annoying at that particular moment!

"I want everything checked and I am heading somewhere quickly to buy time.  Find him, I do not care how!"  She then sent out more standard orders via her own jade stone communications.

Emperor Frey was not the only person being picked up!  The small chaos actually gave a good excuse for most of the time but now a supreme power!

[Guild Master, an envoy from the Divine Sword Sect has come to meet with Emperor Frey.  They are happy to wait for the incoming sky ship.]

As if there was not enough going on, another supreme power added to the mix!  It did not matter why they were there, if she could not find Emperor Frey, she was royally screwed!

She swiftly made her way to the port set aside for the incoming sky ship.  Just as the seed shaped object got close, yet another message came through.

[Guild Master, a Shard Tier Immortal has arrived to also meet with Emperor Frey.  She stated she is fine waiting for him with the other envoy as well.]

By policy, no names were given with Shard Tiers as not all were well known or more likely were highly sought after.  Yet Justine felt like her dantian was going to suffer Qi deviation.

How many more people were coming for that man?!

[LIZ!  Have you got an update?!]  She sent a message and did not care who heard but only a single pulse came back.  It was negative!

By the spirits, where was Emperor Frey?!

She was snapped back as a thud showed the ship had arrived!  A gorgeous woman with black hair appeared in fine robes and her aura was in the middle of the Sliver Tier.  Another spirits' cursed Immortal!

She wanted to cry!

"Helion Trading Guild greats you, General Lian.  May I give you–"  A flared aura was all the warning she got as Lian's cold eyes looked around in clear displeasure.

"Where is my Emperor?"  Justine broke out in a deep cold sweat.  She at least had a delaying tactic.

"After I got your message, 2 envoys, including a Shard Tier, asked to meet with him.  I have their location if you want to follow me."  The words mollified Lian but she simply nodded.  Justine outranked her normally but in the current circumstance she did not dare to be overbearing.

They went into the complex maze of their corridors.  She confirmed where the guests were and began praying to any spirit that would listen to show her some small mercy.

It took a whole morning to get to the room and there were peak Sun Tier guards with other formations and artifacts to defend the room.

"Any issues?"  Justine asked before knocking.  She prayed very hard that she would be told a discussion was in progress and could not be interrupted but the smile told her all her hopes were for naught.

"No issues Guild Master.  However, the Shard Tier is..odd."  His face showed his struggle with finding words but most Shard Tiers were odd in one way or another.

Immortals always changed drastically from the previous realms as mortality hung over them all until then.  Plans begin to shift to accommodate the longer timescale as well as other things.

She sighed before knocking and then opening the cherry lacquered doors.  It revealed a comfortable lounge with a full range of drinks behind a small bar.  A young girl was happily chatting with the gray robed man that had a plain broadsword at his hip.

The aura of a newly minted Sliver Tier spoke volumes but his rugged good looks and strong vitality showed he had been born in the Heaven Realm.

His dark hair framed his stubbled square jaw and pale steel eyes.  Justine felt her heart skip a beat as Lian suddenly smiled.

"Bren!  You ascended!"  Hope bloomed as the man smiled at Lian and bowed low.

"Senior, it is all thanks to the generosity of Uncle Lind.  He told me to come find him once I broke through too but did not say when.  Mother sends her regards.  I also stopped by my father's memorial before coming.  I wished he could see today."  Justine quickly went through notable connections and felt a shock in her mind.

"The Helion Trading Guild warmly welcomes the son of Solon the Indomitable.  His single handed battle against an army is not only legendary, but saved the lives of my own people as well."  There was no sophistry in her words.  She meant everyone.

Solon had barely come to the Heaven Realm when the horrific battles broke out.  His children were already born and he carved out a legend but died all too soon.

The Moebius Sect actually gave all elixirs and healing they could but far too many died in those days.

Solon stood out because he grasped something about his sword aura that allowed him to jump an entire realm in strength at the cost of his life.  The entire Fiend army could only die at his blade!

When Lind Frey returned, he moved all resources to his old friends he could find or their families.

Bren was one of them.

It was said he took after his father in looks but not in temper.  He was, however, a rising star.

"Guild Master Justine, I am honored."  Justine hoped to converse but Lian was staring at the other guest.  It was a voluptuous woman in a cloak that did nothing to hide her figure but her hands were what entranced the room.

They were shifting colors!

An aether child?

"I am not known to your kind.  We have been gone for some time, but I am called Soltara."  She pulled back her hood to reveal a face that made even Justine skip a beat!

Justine did not recognize her race but General Lian bowed low.

"Junior greets honored senior.  Emperor Frey spoke highly of you and fellow daoist Balgorn."  Soltara smiled which only made her more mesmerizing but Justine felt her body shiver once more.

The Sanctuary Empire had close ties to another Shard Tier!  This was a massive piece of news!  It also made her desperately wish someone would tell her Lind Frey had been found!

"May I know why you have left your home, senior?"  Lian asked a question that could buy time but Justine saw Soltara look right at her and smirk.  She knew!

"I know the purpose of his journey and wish to be of aid if he needs it.  If he has made progress, he should be quite close to reaching the Immortal Realm."  Her words were like a bombshell.

General Lian smiled with pride, Bren felt shocked and happy, while Justine simply felt her knees almost giving out.  Her very considerations were coming to pass too quickly!  No one was ready!

"Where is Emperor Frey?"  Lian's question made Justine actually whimper.  All 3 heads turned to her and she knew she could not hide it anymore.  She was about to speak when the doors swung open.

"My apologies, I got distracted when I returned."  Lind Frey swept into the room.  Justine was ready to kiss him right there!

Lian knelt while Bren ran forward smiling.  Soltara merely stood up and bowed low.

Lind looked over them all and smiled but then sent a message to Justine.

[There was a slight time delay in my return.  No issues remain but I need to talk to you before I leave.]

Justine bowed low and happily took a seat at the bar.  She had already had too long of a day and did not want to deal with anything else!
