Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 754 - 753 - Shatter the Rainbow

Chapter 754 - 753 - Shatter the Rainbow

It had been half a year since Cyntilla became an Immortal and a massive new area had been cordoned off as yet another bride of Lind Frey was going to advance.

The desert had yet to be explored but the current member was far less troublesome.

Ethry was going to break through.  A Divine Dragon was very different from other aether beasts and cultivators.  Even so, every precaution was being taken just in case things got as crazy as last time.

Triple the poles created a complex array of barriers to withstand any pressure to protect the immediate area as well as an entire phalanx of Immortal soldiers positioned to create a low grade 7 formation ward if needed.

"You both seem confident this will be enough."  Cyntilla was there too but now her armor had been fully upgraded.  She was also pregnant.  She was damned happy about it too.

Lind smirked but then flinched as she stared hard at him.  Despite the fact he was 'punished' her pregnancy was his fault somehow.  He took full credit but she was not amused when he did that.

Still, both were happy.  He also heard it was actually much harder to get pregnant as an Immortal but he would bet a lot his draconic body was the cause.  He would need more data and well, why not?

Ethry was being carried over as she was restraining her breakthrough until she was in position.  It had come on suddenly as she felt her Laws not only fall into place but her race memory expanded.

It was the key sign for an aether beast that a new realm was imminent.

The rumble of thunder told them she was nearly there.  Fey and Qing were the ones that brought her over but Hei was not far behind.

He was concerned about his mother but Lind waved him over.

"It will be fine.  Remember your own tribulations?  It should be similar."  Like his parents, Hei was a Divine Dragon as well.  Unlike what he had been taught, his tribulations were a breeze.

His siblings were the same.  They all had a divine bloodline in them even if it was mixed with other races.  They were the first generation and benefited from it.  In a way, Lind wished they had a bit more adversity as their own children would not have such a benefit.

Hei was a possible exception along with Zao.  If they found another Divine aether beast bloodline they would follow a similar path as Lind.  The odds were heavily against it.

Qing and Fey flew back to them and looked relieved.

"She made it and will be starting soon.  When will you erect the barrier?"  The pylons were silent but Lind looked up and waited.  The truth would soon be revealed.

The pressure of Heaven descended but not a single person felt threatened.  Instead, they felt giddy!  It was like they were being uplifted at that moment.

Only 2 were unaffected.  Lind and Cyntilla looked up in awe at the boiling black clouds gathered yet the tribulation felt nothing like the last one.  The last one was simply terrifying and quickly increased in power, but the one above them spanned far beyond the limits of the marked off area.

It was easily over 100 kilometers!

Yet, no threat was felt and many Immortals had begun to appear.  Like any tribulation, it should still have started with blue lightning but that was not what happened at all.

The 9 bolts of lightning appeared all at once and were quickly followed by the next 5 directly but they did not strike her directly.

Instead, they collected right above her where pressure began to build.  Aside from Lind, very few would recognize the pressure that was building.

It was far above Immortal Realm!  It was a Divine Realm pressure!

"She said her bloodline had broken through but that much?"  Lind mumbled as the lighting danced in joy as a tear slowly began to open in the sky.

A mighty roar came from the tiny tear in the sky but he realized only he could hear it as no one else reacted.  The lightning strained from what his senses could tell but that was not the part that made him frown.

The power on the other side of the tear was clearly Divine but there was no sentience behind it.  What had Ethry tapped into?

Before he could try to probe the area, a blinding light blasted it open!  Streams of Qi that terrified all that felt them ripped space as they struck into Ethry's body.  The lightning that had been ripping open the sky followed all at once!

Many panicked but Lind smirked.  That lighting was not going to harm Ethry at all, but the flows of Qi were a different story.  He saw all colors that represented Qi yet he dared not use his talents as all his instincts warned him it would be the last thing he did.

"Trial by Qi or Laws of Qi?"  He murmured but none heard him as the Qi slammed into Ethry who roared in defiance as her skin lit up as brightly as a sun.

Her own Qi combated the stream slamming into her as the lightning joined in.  Her battered body was suddenly brimming with vitality as the clouds broiled with more lightning!

Compared to Cyntilla's, Ethry's tribulation had blown all expectations out of proportion but nothing was being damaged aside from Ethry herself.  She was fighting the stream of powerful Qi and he felt like her body was being transformed.

Her size increased and she now stretched far beyond 50 kilometers and the power she was putting out felt far beyond a simple Immortal.  Lind began to understand that quality made that big of a difference but also that Ethry was getting a 7th round!

Lighting the same spectrum of colors as the Qi started to appear and he felt awe at the heft and profound feeling of each bolt.  Laws he had only touched on began to become clearer but he dared not press his luck.

He would not survive Ethry's tribulation if he drew its attention.  Heaven could be very petty even in a relatively passive tribulation.

The lightning joined with the stream of Qi and Ethry faced a tribulation head on as blood exploded out of her eyes, ears, and mouth.  Scales shattered but she did not bow.  Her prismatic eyes shone with denial of being made to kneel.

Her elements came together to create her own projection!  It was a very different shape of her normal sinuous form.

She had larger legs, 4 horns equally surrounding her head, her mane getting longer, and finally her tail splitting in 2!

"By the spirits!  What kind of power is that?!"  Cyntilla was barely standing and Lind realized there was a terrifying pressure on all but him.  He was confused but then understood his progenitor dragon soul was far stronger than what was happening.

"She has reached back into her bloodline for a stronger form.  She likely wants to be stronger in body as well as cultivation."  He had created his form for his legacy but Ethry was actually recovering old features from her ancestors.

It could be considered an active choice to be atavistic.  Her original body was powerful but had limits of physical power she had come to loathe.

She had to use her Qi and flames far more which made her attacks predictable but her new features would make her even more terrifying.

Yet, he felt like she was being constrained by the stream of Qi.  Why?

Her eyes bled more as she flexed her new body which broke even more scales before a bolt of pure spiritual Qi slammed out of the tear.

The sky ripped open for just a moment and Lind's eyes burned.  He was not sure what he saw but it looked like mountains floating in nothing!  He thought he saw something floating in the air but the instant he tried to keep watching, his vision went dark!

The pain was awful but a quick elixir and focusing on his own healing restored his vision.  The sky was back to just clouds but Ethry was shattering the chains around her.

Her body did not look good but then several streams of light pierced the clouds and Lind saw her look up in defiance as the offer of Heaven.

Rainbows came with the storms but Ethry launched herself up with stunning strength before slicing up the sky!

The clouds were scattered and the rainbows were shattered!  He was shocked.  They were made of Qi too!

It was not simply moisture, but actual Qi!

The loose shards were taken in as Ethry roared over the sky.  The air rippled under her newly minted Immortal power!  Lind felt his soul stir in response and transformed before he realized what he was doing.

He was barely a kilometer long now but he flew up and went around her as she looked at him in affection.  She let him bump her head with his own while avoiding his own horns.

She had reached her full size.  Of that he was sure, but it mattered little as his emerald Qi began to flow over her and soothe her wounds.

His wife had made the next step and more were to follow.  He doubted any would be as kind as Ethry's but he had to speed up preparations.

The 2 dragons roared and all aether beasts in all directions knelt in fealty.  Even those like rocs could not resist at that moment as the world welcomed a supreme Divine Immortal Dragon.
