Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 733 - 732 - Threshold

Chapter 733 - 732 - Threshold

Lind was digesting while he stabilized his newly advanced foundation.  Each step in the Heaven Realm, even the tiny steps within a tier, were difficult for him.  Compared to just 6 elements he had planned long ago to deal with, he had increased the complexity by adding demonic Qi and connecting it all with Celestial Qi.

Qing and Cyntilla had been impressed by his sun, but his other wives worried he was pursuing a dead end.  Even Ethry, who knew how dominating dragons could be, felt he was risking his path forward by adding so much to his plate.

Still, Lind had delved so much and worked with all 3 elemental systems that he felt confident enough to try.  With what Soltara had shown him had sparked new ideas to make his sun even better!

He could never follow the Elemental Path for obvious reasons but the blending of spiritual and elemental Qi seemed to work well with the grasp he had on his Living Law.

So, as he sat there, he slowly began to even further fuse the elements into his sun and was stunned at how happy his sun was to do that!  It actually began to consume more Qi than he could take in but he slowed it down before he was drained dry.

He had not expected success so easily but it was almost as if his harmony had been preparing for him to blend his Qi even more.

He also grasped something he had not understood about harmonies.  Not all of them were Laws.  The way his harmony worked made it clear that the different harmonies were something else.

The way some were focused on aspects of the cultivator's point of view had always frustrated him as they seemed to understand how their harmony worked exactly.  They could take his elemental theories and sprint away as if that was all they were missing.

Conversely, Kexin was a good example of being similar to him.  Her black flames were just as much of a struggle as the elemental balance for her.  He suspected she also had a Law but its type was far easier to grasp.

Domination of All.  It always tried to crush all opposition when she used it in her weapons or Arts.

[Harmonies are Laws and aspects of cultivators.  It is the doorway to deeper truths on personal and large scale levels.]

The thought came to him and something shifted.  His sun began to spin faster and faster while pulling in Qi like a dry sponge!  How was it going so fast?!  What was it doing?!

Lind felt his body was suddenly fragile like glass.  It felt too small, as if he had exceeded its capacity.

He was falling into the swirl of Qi and thought before he reached a place he had never seen before.  He felt like he was beyond everything for just a moment and if he wanted, he could know everything.

He saw tiny lights dancing around him but they were not stars.  What were those?

[A new one?  No, something dangerous.  You should go back.  You are far from ready to be here.]

[How can he still be alive?  He should burst into nothing yet is holding on?]

[Little junior brother, whatever brought you here, go back.  You will be completely destroyed if you stay.]

He heard many voices but they made his body creak as he barely withstood them.  What kind of beings could do that?!

Emerald light flared around him suddenly and he heard a faint roar as all the voices cried out in surprise but then he was falling again.  His senses were somewhat dull but he knew he had touched on something.

He wanted to hold onto the feeling but it was being taken away.

[So, this is when it happened.  You have stepped on the path but you are still able to change things.  It is up to you what you become, but I will not miss this chance myself.  We worry too much but that is a good thing even now.]

A voice he recognized echoed in his mind but Lind was too weak to do anything as a foggy vision of Soltara appeared and he felt warmth in his heart.  It was gratitude, sadness, and a wish at the heart of all the emotions.

{Live.}

Qi flowed in strange ways as his dantian tried to keep up but it was drained dry before the feeling fell away.

[Do not worry about paradoxes.  I am beyond that.  I can still be avoided but my actions in the past cannot be changed.  Good luck, you will need it.]

The presence was leaving but then paused.  It seemed to consider something for what seemed forever but then it sighed before it spoke of something impossible.

[She is dead but still in danger.  Only you can save her, but the price will be high.  Choose wisely.]

The presence left then and Lind was exhausted but his sun seemed to be on automatic as it recovered Qi.  He slowly felt better and took back control when the process stopped.

He could not recall everything but he was more than familiar with what had happened.  It was his voice.  A future version of himself, a hell of a lot more powerful version, had saved him.

He also suspected that version was why it happened anyway.  What was that place?  Where had he gone and what had he done to trigger it?

He suddenly realized his knowledge of harmonies had become clearer.  His own was a Living Law, Kexin's was a Supreme Law, and even Tessa had a Greater Dao behind hers!  That last one shocked him.

An entire Dao was a harmony?!  Had he done that?!

He also understood harmonies could change.  His had always been a Living Law because he stumbled on it but others could become Laws with the right conditions.  His own harmony was on its way to being a Dao but its level was unknown.

Essentially he now grasped a fundamental aspect of each of them.

Most harmonies were personal aspects of the balance between all elements that could grow into Laws and then later Daos.  The level and process were all up to the cultivator like everything else.

It would make a revolution in the progress of all 6 elementals.  If they succeeded in transforming their harmonies, it  would make absorbing elements and balancing them much easier.

No wonder it was so damned hard to advance in the Soul Realm and World Realm!  It was like grasping in the dark to understand the harmonies depending on what they were.  Some geniuses could jump to Laws or partially grasped laws which no Soul or World Realm could ever truly grasp.

More powerful cultivators could guide them just as elders did in any sect!

Lind felt joy well up in him as a major roadblock to his advancement fell away.  His sun expanded like a balloon but it was rock solid.  He reached the peak of high Sun Tier but only just.  He had much to learn about his Living Law before he could advance.

Not only that, he started to feel a lot more Law traces in his dantian unlike ever before.

He was stunned as Lanbao and others had told him having a handful was normal but he seemed to have a storm of Laws.  How did he have so many?!

One thought came to him and he tried parsing them a bit.  Sure enough, many were close to his production skills.  There were still large sections dealing with none of them at all but he at least had a starting point.

How long would it take to grasp all those laws?!  Did he have to do them one at a time?

He took a deep breath mentally as he recalled his journey.  He had struggled holding back his foundation as he slowly tempered his cores.  He had barely been able to survive inside a Relic before he broke through to the World Realm.

Each step of his journey was never easy and it seemed overwhelming, but he could make it.  The end was not where he was going next, but the very simple things he could do.

His mind settled and instantly one of the traces got much longer and bigger.  He began to see it was the Law of Composition.  Making a whole from many parts to bring out a result.  The perfect balance did not exist but the rules under that Law were what made it possible.

As if waiting to understand that, the Laws of Essence, Smelting, and Sigils quickly completed and he was enlightened.

Just as each discovery led to grasping associated concepts, the same would happen with the Laws.  The newly completed strips of power inside him were strange.  They were of no element yet they existed.

They also felt stronger than him but then he saw them slowly encircle his sun.  He felt stronger but he did not increase his realm.

He realized he was already starting on the path to the Immortal Realm but he only stood at the threshold.  He had a long journey ahead before he made it there.  He also doubted he would get such an easy grouping again.

He concentrated on what he could but he also felt his mind was tired from just those few Laws.  It was very different from simply being exhausted.  He actually worried he would hurt if he kept pushing.

Lind quietly went back to recovering and normal cultivation as his dantian had become quite crowded but more profound.  He was moving ahead at long last and wondered when he could catch up to his family once again!
