Chapter 674 - 673 - Physical Law vs Reality Law
Chapter 674 - 673 - Physical Law vs Reality Law
Lind was dripping in sweat and barely able to summon any Qi, but he could not spare a moment to recover as a spear came flying at him.
He almost felt like his body moved automatically but was just barely able to avoid the steel tip from cutting open his throat.
His sweat slicked hair felt like dead weight but he let it carry his body faster as he used his right hand to twist around even faster as Protean flared a broadsword blade at the last moment but then shattered as he thrust it out.
The azure scaled claw that closed over it left him hopeless but Lanbao smiled down at him.
"You lasted for nearly 4 days. That is a marked improvement." Lind had trained for most of his life controlling Qi and delving his professions but ever since the Relic that taught him Battlemaster Aura, he had felt like he needed to get stronger as a fighter.
He could lead, but Fiends were going to be in far greater numbers once he left. His simplistic fighting style was not enough and risking his life on the edge of a knife was not a sustainable process.
Lanbao, Keera, and others were now pushing him hard while the stone circle was worked on per his instructions.
Despite his Forging of the artifact, it still kept shutting down but Lind could not focus solely on that issue. The smaller versions worked perfectly fine so what was the issue?
As he lay on the ground recovering, his mind drifted on a sea of concept. The smaller versions had been fairly simple but they also were limited. He could not send his arm through for instance, only elixirs, artifacts, or other objects.
He had never wondered about it before but as he did not want to risk losing a limb on either side, he never tested it.
He suddenly heard George in his head for the first time in a long while.
"I am telling you it would work but I doubt it would be as simple as the show made it. I mean, stars move over time and using constellations was a bit of a stretch considering timelines and all that…" Lind smiled as he heard his old friend. It was at that moment, though, that a woman's voice came back to him.
"That friend of yours gets way too excited but trying to make an idea real from TV usually takes grasping reality. What was that show your father liked? The one with the Enterprise or was it something else?" Tears formed as he knew who it was. His mother from Earth!
"I am an idiot." Lind slowly sat up as Lanbao looked at him in curiosity. He then downed a few elixirs as his Qi flooded his dantian and his body recovered.
Qi flowed around him slowly at first but then he looked at the artifact and his Eyes could see a sort of distortion in the middle.
The gate was already working but it needed the other end to connect. In theory, a wormhole should work but Lind had overlooked something simple in the cultivation world considerations.
Laws.
There were Laws that touched on things science only touched on, but fiction actually opened his mind to look at what he wanted.
"I want what is 2 to be one." The reason the small scale ones worked was the intent behind the creator. They could grasp a transfer point but what he was trying to create was beyond their point of view.
Laws like Fire Law were too vague until comprehension led a cultivator down the path. Mastering Fire Law to the point that sitting in lava does nothing was possible or simply controlling fire like it was an extension of the body was on the spectrum of that Law.
What Lind was trying to do was make a physical law be replicated by the manipulation of Laws on a basic level.
His Qi began to solidify as a shape came into existence. It was a smaller version of the stone gate he had Forged.
Lanbao felt something odd as she looked on. Lind had clearly entered some kind of enlightenment but it also felt like he was a different person for a moment.
She could not pin down why she felt that, but for a brief moment, it was like he became fully human rather than a dragon.
Still, she suddenly felt the ground shake as she twisted to look at the giant stone gate as the inner ring spun on its own!
What was going on?!
A pressure began to build unlike any time before and before she could take off a massive shattering of the space inside the ring occurred as she saw something impossible!
Slowly, she turned back and saw Lind holding a smaller version of the ring that now looked out at the platform that was easily 20 kilometers away! He then put his hand through without any issue!
"So, I was right, the intent is the problem." Lind finally grasped the issue. The small scale worked because his counterparts in Forging and refining grasped the Laws instinctually of reality.
Teleportation arrays were not something the average cultivator had to grasp fully but tears in space were more common as a cultivator advanced into the Immortal Realm. The issue was that Reality Laws were not the same as Physical Laws.
Gravity, speed of light, and other things Lind took for granted were much harder for cultivators to grasp. Still, Lind smiled as he looked at the small gate he had quickly Forged.
"I think I have got it now, Lanbao." She slowly nodded as the giant stone gate showed a blown up version of Lind's chest as his hand was so tiny when it appeared!
The gate then shimmered and he yanked his hand back as the connection broke. Lind frowned as he did not know why that happened.
He sighed as he stood up and moved off to clean up and review what had suddenly caused the connection to sever but at least he had a lead!
The conflict of science might be his fault as he had a limited grasp of science at the higher levels.
Yet, he now saw it could be done with intent. His weapon intent and aura was about grasping the fundamental aspects of each movement and the result a cultivator imagined once they attacked.
The gate worked on a similar principle.
He finally found the teleportation array and moved to the Core Hall. Guards bowed as he swept by. A voice in his mind warned him not to be full of himself but he simply filed it away as he had promised to be an Emperor in fact since his declaration.
An Emperor was not cold if they were good, but they were always working towards the best results of their power.
Now, Lind found the jade stone he needed as he sunk his senses into it. It took a while for a response before Lysanna answered.
She looked exhausted and he felt worried as he looked at her.
"What happened?" Lysanna smiled at his worry as she relayed the latest attack. He was stunned at the effectiveness of his artifacts. They were little better than grenades in effect but why was his harmony so destructive?
He put it aside as he relayed his revelations but he saw her frown.
"I am not sure any explanation could get through to the Forgers. Intent is a personal comprehension and trying to get another to reach your level would be very difficult." Lind frowned as he agreed with her.
The Forgers at Moebius Sect were wonderful but they were grounded in a cultivator's perspective rather than his dual view of his old life to his current one.
It was his only way out but he needed a reincarnation to have any hope of getting out!
"What if I sent the small scale?" Lind thought of that but Lysanna shook her head.
"I know Wyndam often told me that he could not always follow you and he was the best at making the Arts you wanted a reality. If someone shared your vision, it might be possible but this…" Her voice trailed off and Lind felt frustrated.
He was so close! He wanted to be with his family!
Lind sat back and looked at the ceiling before a crazy idea came to him.
He looked at the small stone gate and up at Lysanna.
"What if I sent this model through and you set it in the place of the larger stone gate? I can connect to it and Forge the gate on your end." Lysanna thought for an eternity but slowly shook her head.
"You said it collapsed fairly quickly, do you know why?" Lind shook his head but he did not give up.
"If I can figure it out, it might work to complete the pair. I will work hard so be safe!" He saw her tired smile and was about to disconnect when the world tilted.
He fell over in pain as something was very wrong!
"Li….ong?" He could not hear Lysanna anymore as his dantian felt far away let alone his body. His eyes glossed over before Linghu came stumbling in and quickly touched his shoulder.
The instant the 2 of them were connected, the ill feeling faded.
"LIND!" He looked up and saw a panicking Lysanna so he smiled at her. He turned to Linghu but he shook his head. It was bad but not the time to talk about it.
"I have been training hard and not rested. I will do so now and reach out later. I think I am on to something." She looked hard at him but let him weasel out of explaining as they broke the connection.
"The Fiends are attacking the Law Binding but something has changed." Lind nodded and followed Linghu to the Core Room. What had happened to them? What was going on?!
