Chapter 653 - 652 - Suzen's Blessing

Glenda was supremely unimpressed by the 3 Sky Realms in front of her.  It was not unheard of for the arrogant ascenders to die early deaths because they had become too used to being supreme.

Heaven Realms varied from mortal realm to mortal realm, but based on the fact only Sky Realms ascended, either the Star Tiers hid in safety or there were none in that particular realm.

"Lady Glenda, as we mentioned, we all felt a strange increase in Qi density and quality.  It was most welcome but no Imperial envoy is left below to answer our questions.  They all died for some reason 500 years ago."  Eldrin was trying to look imposing but he was an ant to Glenda.

"Those were likely thralls.  Did they ever leave indoors?"  Her question seemed odd but the aether child's eyes narrowed.  She seemed to have a good head on her shoulders.

"Suzen's Blessing could be blocked by simple buildings?"  Her question made Glenda nearly furious.  Suzen was known for many things, but a blessing was not on the list!

"If you are referring to his betrayal of the Fiends that helped him, then likely yes.  Heaven and Earth can only find a Fiend when they are exposed and thralls can hide so long as the connection is weak or blocked."  Due to being sealed away in the Core Hall, Xing had been extremely restricted by using the thrall technique.

She could not leave them with free will so had increased her control.  Hence all those beings essentially became puppets by result.  The main difference being that instead of an actual puppet technique, Xing invaded their souls and assumed control.

They were literal extensions of her.  At the Sun Tier that was very feasible.

All 3 envoys' eyes narrowed at the derogatory tone Glenda used.

"Surely due respect should be given to the supreme Immortal Suzen."  Palor was stern but not too far with her, yet Glenda smirked at him.

"That pathetic coward was used like a glorified Qi stone in a formation and is now dead.  The Law Binding is held by Lord Linghu at the command of Emperor Lind Frey.  The Lady Lanbao is also at the Emperor's side.  If you want to thank anyone for your freedom, thank the Emperor and all who died to free us."  Her freezing tone seemed to shock the 3 Sky Realms.

Galatia also became intrigued by several revelations.

The aether child seemed to want to ask more but did not want to let her companions go off on tangents for days.

"Now, we have only recently become settled down after rebuilding and re-educating what was lost over the last million years.  Per the Emperor's command, I am to give you these."  Glenda summoned a small pile of jade slips.

It was a lot of copies but there were 4 sets she gave each before organizing a few storage pouches for the rest.

"What are these, exactly?"  Eldrin looked at them but did not sink his senses into any of them.  Palor briefly examined them but then sneered openly at whatever he saw.  Only Galatia felt her heart freeze as she examined each slip.

One slip was devoted to elemental theory.  It seemed basic until she really took it in and realized it resolved some issues she had even at the Sky Realm!  She also saw that demonic Qi was covered in the same slip!

It was elegant and easy to grasp.  She could see it would have immediate results as it covered how to address the various combinations of elements a cultivator might have!

Who had done all this work when the commonly accepted practices worked just fine but the next slip left her jaw open.  It was a clear path for 6 elementals!  It would allow them to cultivate their cores through the Soul Ream and breakthrough to the World Realm!

It spoke of harmonies and various insights.  She had many old friends that could have used this knowledge!  She was only able to test the elemental theory with light and fire Qi but she saw a marked improvement with just what she grasped!

The last 2 slips covered the World Realm and Sky Realm!

With these slips, a revolution could unfold in their mortal realm.  She looked up and waited for the catch.  Nothing was free.

"I see you have a question, but let me say this.  My Emperor has only 1 request.  Spread this knowledge freely.  Let all who can benefit from it and do not hoard it or make them pay for it."  Galatia slowly nodded but the other 2 were confused at her solemn attitude.

It was just basic stuff, why did she treat it like gold?

"That is a steep price, but acceptable.  I will do so.  Please convey my heartfelt thanks to your Emperor."  Glenda felt pleased at her words as the other 2 began to examine the slips more closely.

Eldrin's previous question became moot as shock crossed his face.

"How can we give this away for nothing?!"  Palor was shocked but then the aura of Glenda covered the room once more.  Her human face seemed terrifyingly fierce at that moment as a ghost of her previous form seemed to flicker around her.

They felt so small in front of her!

"O-of course we will do so!"  Eldrin spoke but Galatia looked on calmly.

"Do you have any questions then?"  Glenda had covered her business, now she would answer what she could for them.

"What has happened in the last few days?"  Galatia asked but Glenda actually became reluctant.  She closed her eyes and they wondered what she was doing.

The air suddenly split open as a woman with azure hair and robes emerged!  They felt shocked as they had never seen such a skill!  No teleportation array at all, just space ripped asunder!

"Emperor Frey had a recent breakthrough that caused an opportunity.  The gist I am allowed to pass on is that Heaven and Earth reinvigorated everywhere in all directions, even the mortal realms.  That is all."  Eldrin seemed about to speak when the woman's eyes shifted to vertical slits and her aura nearly crushed him into jelly!

"This is Lady Lanbao, the other Immortal of our Two Rivers Alliance."  Galatia instantly shot up and bowed low but the gorgeous woman simply smiled at her.

"The Emperor asked me to tell you that the aether children have been freed here.  If they wish to come, he would be happy to greet them.  His wife is one of your kind and he misses her deeply."  Galatia was shocked at such an invitation.

While aether children were sought after, it was usually not so warm.  She also was stunned at the next words.

"I swear by Heaven and Earth, no harm or loss of freedom will happen to them if they meet the Emperor."  The sky rumbled as all 3 envoys were shocked.

"I–ah, um–I have to go back and talk to my people.  We have much to discuss but there is no longer a restriction on ascension?"  Glenda and Lanbao looked confused and both closed their eyes.  She now knew that meant they were communicating with someone.

A voice suddenly boomed in her head.

[Please explain that statement.]

It was a powerful voice but they all felt a pressure as someone was clearly looking at them now.  Lanbao put a hand to her head as if she was frustrated by whoever sent that message.

"Please answer him, speaking aloud is enough."  Galatia swallowed but Eldrin beat her to it.

"The Imperial Messengers only let a small handful ascend each year.  Tributes and favors were given like a waterfall to pull it off.  Anyone that tried to break through to the Star Tier was executed."  Silence descended before Lanbao let out a long sigh.

"Please wait a moment."  The tear was then opened once more before a ring was tossed through.  She caught it and looked sternly at whoever was on the other side.  She then sealed it off before looking back at them.

"The restriction on Star Tiers, to be sure, is to stop ascension at the Moon Tier?"  They all looked shocked at such a question from the woman.

"Um, it was because the Imperial messengers were only at the peak of the Sky Realm.  No one could be above them.  I think the old records state the Sun Tier was when a person would ascend in our realm."  Lanbao nodded before summoning whatever was in the ring.

They were vials, artifacts, and finally more jade slips.

"These are some examples for professions to examine and review as well as more theories on crafting up through grade 6."  Shock flooded all 3 of them that time!  Compared to the previous slips, the various sects, and merchant groups would sell their souls for anything that was on that table so easily!

"W–what expert granted us such a boon?"  Galatia was the first to recover her ability to speak.  Lanbao merely smiled when a voice once more answered.

[The legacy would take centuries to recover or more.  I want all cultivators to have a chance to move forward.  If resources have been set aside for tribute, return them to their owners to use as they see fit.  We await any that wish to join us.]

Tears formed in her eyes.  Galatia nearly fell over before gentle hands caught her.  She looked up to see the smiling face of Glenda.

"Emperor Frey is a bit eccentric but he is not a bad man at all.  He has a bottom line that none should cross, yet he is not a tyrant that enforces his will on all every moment of everyday."  Galatia slowly nodded as a decision formed in her heart.

The moment she was done dispersing all the gifts from that Emperor, she would ascend!  She wanted to be in the Heaven Realm and live under that Emperor!  As if sensing her choice, Lanbao actually smiled widely at her and nodded before flying up into the sky.

A massive flood dragon appeared and roared as she flew off to somewhere beyond their senses.  The 2 men shivered as any rebellious thoughts vanished entirely.  They would not hoard the knowledge nor the gifts.

The 3 envoys swiftly returned to the ascension pools and went back to their realm.  The world was changing once more and hopefully for the better.
