Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 654 - 653 - Meeting of Immortals

Chapter 654 - 653 - Meeting of Immortals

While many would think Immortal Realms would be directing the war efforts between the Fiends and the Alliance, the truth was most of the work was shouldered by Sun Tiers.

Immortals were normally busy trying to increase their power or fighting enemy Immortals to keep them out of the fight.

For the Fiends, however, they were researching ways to increase their power at all times. Their insatiable appetites were getting harder and harder to satisfy even with the capture of enemies.

The problem was quantity did not outmatch quality for their cultivation. They had been stuck at the Sliver Tier for generations but despite extending their lives, they saw diminishing returns as time passed.

The sudden shifts in an old experiment meant to resolve the issue followed by the Heaven Realm being partially repaired had dealt them inexcusable setbacks to their resources. Thus an unusual request for a meeting was made.

Many would expect the long lives of Fiends would mean there were far more of them compared to the Alliance yet there were only 100. It was not randomly at such a round number either.

They had calculated that was all that could be sustained. While some were more powerful and had built factions, there were 3 that could be said to rule over all. They were the only peak Sliver Tiers in the entire race.

The difference between a low Sliver Tier and a mid Sliver Tier was massive compared to all previous realms. As the cultivation realms advanced, the difference inside a tier became more extreme.

Thus a peak tier became a much larger power house compared to before.

Zerod was a peak Immortal Sliver Tier Fiend that had been alive since before the Cataclysm. He had lived for possibly 5 million years but no one was entirely sure. His slim body belied his fearsome strength.

He could shatter mortal realms with his power but there were Immortals just as powerful as him on the other side. Valkyrie was one for instance.

Zerod had sharp angular features on his face and his white hair was cut short, but he looked barely into his mid twenties. He had on fine robes of the purest arachne silk.

He had eyes that could break a soul with a glance but his cruel handsome visage would steal hearts equally.

He sat at a raised table overlooking the gathering of other Immortals as all hushed when a dark beauty entered the hall.

She had shoulder length hair as her ash gray skin shone like a fresh faced teenager, but her eyes were cold even to other Fiends. She had a voluptuous figure and her fine robes failed to hide any of it.

She was known only by the title Widow. She was the 2nd oldest Immortal but Zerod knew far more about her compared to most. She had been basically an enchantress in how she seduced many fools to fuel her cultivation in a short period of time.

He did not judge her as it worked but after she became a peak Immortal, she actively killed rivals to ensure none would look at anyone but her. He did find that wasteful but she only bothered those that were truly ineffective.

Zerod did not mind Widow's work but her title did not come from her elimination of her rivals, but the consumption of her preferred targets. She preferred to consume male halves of Dao Companion bonds.

None knew the why, but the pattern was clear.

She took a seat at Zerod's right side when all the crowd below suddenly parted like a sea of lower realm cultivators as another woman arrived. She had a deep hood but her nearly comically large chest was hard to miss.

Only a suicidal fool would make a comment about it as she was quite vindictive but Zerod knew the cause. Her body was not her original but a result of several thralls being merged to save her life long ago.

Of the 3 of them, she was the only peak Immortal that rose after the Cataclysm. Widow had been active shortly before, roughly a million years before it happened.

None of them know what happened, but all of their superiors vanished all at once when the Cataclysm occurred.

Zerod had ruled since then. Their progress had cemented his rule as well in the war of the Heaven Realm. The programs to conquer the mortal realms also came from him.

It resolved many of their resource issues but it was now nearly wiped away so far as all the Immortal Realms were concerned.

The farms they set up had too low of a quality but the mortal realms allowed for higher quality resources to be raised and sent up to the Heaven Realm to continue to be nurtured.

"Mycea, you are late." Zerod spoke coldly to the last arrival, but she simply bowed before sitting on his left. There was no friendship between them but they were united in staying alive.

The crowd slowly grew quiet as their meeting began.

"I have reviewed the reports and whatever restored the power of not only the Heaven Realm but many mortal realms, came from the old Law Binding experiment." Zerod's voice was clear and many nodded as they too had already confirmed the same.

His voice made the other Fiends shiver. Their voices were already vile to other cultivators. To affect another Fiend showed how terrifying that being was.

"Originally, it was to be an oasis for us that the Alliance could not breach but that useless fool let a weak Immortal welp outsmart him." Widow spoke up. It was a scar on their planning that they were fooled by a pill bought Immortal.

None of them knew for certain what happened but they at least knew the human tool they procured was conquered in the end. A Fiend had activated a signal that could reach outside the Law Binding so they let it be.

The original plan had been to always replace Suzen, but after the betrayal, it became even more important. They wanted to know how that incompetent fool had modified their Law Core and Law Arrays from the original intention.

SInce a Fiend had signaled, they had chosen to wait but then it all fell apart 500 years ago.

Now, something else had happened and Zerod no longer wanted to put it off.

"We shall breach the Law Binding without combined–" He was about to lay out the plan but one of the crowd raised their hand. She was just as impossibly beautiful as any Fiend but currently looked very timid.

"S-seniors, I am afraid we can no longer damage the Law Binding." Zerod's eyes narrowed but Mycea held up her hand. She wanted to hear more.

"Continue." Her voice was just as seductive as the rest of her.

The slim Fiend bowed and continued.

"When the Law Binding changed 500 years ago, the guards were killed instantly. Their bodies were fine but they were dead." Her words caused a stir as few were unaware of that. "After we examined them, it was found that all the Qi in their dantian and meridians had been converted to natural Qi."

Zerod now stood up to his full height. That was impossible! How could a Fiend have their Qi forcibly converted back to natural Qi inside their own bodies?!

"Continue." The calming voice of Mycea snapped him out of his shock.

"Yes, um, we then tried using artifacts and some weavings but they all failed. Anything with Fiend Qi is instantly purified as soon as it touches the surface." She finished her report but instead of a withering gaze, Zerod looked thoughtful.

"Is there an emerald coloring to the Law Binding?" She nodded quickly before a pill suddenly appeared! Its fragrance to anyone else would be vile and twisted but to Fiends it was the best kind of item!

Zerod's other identity was very precious. He was a Fiend Alchemist! They were damned rare for 2 reasons. One was that it required the secret techniques to convert herbs to their Qi and the other was quite difficult to achieve.

The peak of the Sliver Tier.

Zerod maintained his power mostly by that method. Fiend Alchemy was barely holding on only due to his efforts.

As such, handing out a pill was not a small thing at all!

The slim Fiend girl bowed very low.

"The recent reaction from Heaven and Earth also had an emerald dragon of lightning. We all recall the massive attack that came from Immortal level power. It devastated all the way to the front at that time." Many heads nodded. Few could forget the terror of that attack.

"It was due to that annoying ant with 6 elements, correct?" Widow spoke up. Although she usually would not care at all, that loss of a mortal realm combined with a ravaging of their forces was impossible to ignore.

"Correct. The one that broke the curse of the 6 elementals. The one that saved his own mortal realm as well. We believed he was locked safely away inside that lost realm as well. It seemed he was not." A few were confused why Zerod was speaking about an ant. If the cultivator was not stuck inside a mortal realm, they were still beneath all of them present.

"What level of being would it take to change a Law Binding?" His question made them all freeze. Without question, the only beings that could affect a Law Core and Law Arrays was at their level.

"A 6 elemental Immortal Realm?!" Widow was the first to speak as even she felt shocked. Those cultivators were legendarily useless. If they could advance, however, the level of Qi at their disposal would be terrifying in the same realm.

"We also know more about him. He has family in the Heaven Realm. He has the Moebius Sect." Zerod's words finally made sense. Smiles spread in the hall but none of them were kind.

Mycea slowly nodded as Widow sneered. If an ant became a dragon, then it was time to gather a party to bring him low. It was time to remind all of the cultivators why they feared Fiends.
