Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 650 - 649 - Birth of a Sun

Chapter 650 - 649 - Birth of a Sun

Lanbao stared at the hallowed ground in front of her.  There were many things that were foggy in her race memory but one fact was clear to all.

When young dragons had once been hunted by Fiends so long ago that numbers became meaningless, a single race stepped forth to save them.  An entire village had died to save the young dragons that had been on the brink of death.

She had no idea why that particular memory was so clear but the corpses left behind were burned into her.  The floating crystals she now saw in the vast glittering expanse in front of her.

She knew of the Desolate Song as the closest graveyard of the Elementals but it was rather small compared to some.  Outside of the Law Binding, such places were left alone for more reason than respect.

If Lind had not stopped the fools from robbing it, things would have been far worse than any could imagine.  Even Lind did not know.

Now, they invited him to breakthrough in the midst of their dead.  She wondered about why but the description he gave was accurate of a World Realm Elemental.

A Sky Realm would be a more enduring phantom but she had yet to see any.  Most of the corpses she could sense were at the World Realm.

She suspected several reasons for that but stayed silent.  It was not her place to guess or pry.

"How long will they make us wait?"  Benny spoke up suddenly.  Shi had stayed behind to help Linghu but Benny insisted on coming to the point Lanbao felt pity for all those ministers and envoys that dealt with the human.

She was a very good looking young woman but she insisted on dressing like a man with no makeup nor anything traditionally known to be associated with current fashions.  Instead she wore simple robes and finely cut vests with pants.

They were often trimmed in gold with blue for the vests, black pants, and base white robes with fine sigils engraved onto them.

Her sandy colored hair was tied back in a simple ponytail.

Lanbao had heard the color was not natural but Benny got irritated when anyone asked anything about her appearance.

"Emperor Frey may have been invited but this place is not simply another location to enter freely.  Would you like it if we trampled your grave?"  Benny tilted her head to the side before she shrugged.

"I would be dead, so why would I care?"  Lanbao felt she was not joking.  It actually broadened her horizons that not all viewed what they left behind as something important.  She actually felt her sliver stir inside her core!

The Heaven Realm was where aether beasts and cultivators became closer to the same path moving forward.  While the Sky Cores cultivators created were similar to beast cores, it still had vast differences.

The Star Tier was true unification and now in the Immortal Realm, a sliver floated inside her beast core.

"Elementals revere their dead.  They manifest in death while they are phantoms in life.  Thus it leaves proof for all to see they lived."  Lanbao spoke of what she knew and saw Benny nod instantly.

"I get why this place is off limits, I am just curious why we are made to wait when we were invited."  Lanbao repressed a sigh but then froze as she felt a change in the air.

Humanoid shapes began to form of various colors.  Some were massive but very thin while others were nearly average but much more solid.

Her eyes narrowed as one in particular became a living cloud in human shape.

It was a Sky Realm!

"You did not presume, despite invite.  Wise."  The voice was barely discernible.  Technically speaking it was pure intent as none of those beings had vocal capacity.

"I value those that came before.  I would not want their resting places disturbed even if I invited someone to join me in remembering them."  Lind finally spoke and his voice felt odd.  It was like he was speaking a fact of life that could not be denied.

The various shapes bowed and tension seemed to dwindle.  Benny looked fascinated but hardly bothered.  Lanbao had to remember she had survived horrifying things during the war.  Such moments left a strong will behind if one survived.

"You come, no other."  Lind bowed and looked at the small group before he raised his voice.

"None may follow.  Do not enter this place!"  He was not speaking to them, but to the groups that had slowly gathered in the woods around them.  Lanbao was there for the very purpose of keeping them out if she had to.

[Good luck, Lord Frey.]  She sent her well wishes.  If he was what she thought, the breakthrough would not be like others.  It would be a spectacle to behold.  It would also decide her fate!

Lind moved into the crystal sands and floating elemental crystals.  He kept walking until he could no longer be seen or felt!  The sudden loss did not surprise Lanbao but others became disturbed.

She sneered.  They thought to steal from those closest to Heaven and Earth?  Only complete idiots would march to such a death.

Lind felt like he had entered a special realm.  The forest was gone but he was not in a fog or anything else.  What surprised him more was the dim orb in the sky!

A sphere was just hanging in the sky and Lind realized it was moving ever so slightly.  He recalled the time of day and was stunned to see the orb was roughly in the place a sun would be!

Where was he?!

"Welcome to the Shade, Progenitor."  A voice suddenly spoke up as a humanoid stood up from behind larger crystals floating in midair.  Lind realized the quality was much higher than the Desolate Song!  He felt Sky Realms, Heaven Realms, and even the oppressive Immortal Realm!

The crystals were massive in size but he then realized how little the Desolate Song needed his protection.

The being in front of him was still not fully solid but like a living storm of Qi.  At the heart of it, Lind could see a field of stars far larger than his dantain had ever made.

There was something else odd but he could not grasp it without prying deeper.  He refused to be that rude.

"I am grateful for seeing something new but I am afraid I have no reference for what I am seeing."  Lind bowed low despite technically being a higher tier than the Elemental speaking to him.

"You have not really gone anywhere, but we can shift your perspective to see the realms from our side."  Lind realized he was not in a special realm but in some kind of perception of the world!

He carefully stretched out his aura but it was a scrambled mess.  He slowly let his Eyes and Touch align his aura to the new point of view.  Eventually he could barely make out his own world once more and the Shade as the Elemental called it.

"So you all are always there but also not…"  Lind felt like that was close to quantum mechanics' basic definition.  Only the observer changes what is observed but it always gave him a headache to think about that little interaction.

"Qi reaches to all realms but the source is not always apparent.  The Divine Lands breaches into the Celestial Fields and finally to what you now call the Heaven Realm.  That reaches all the mortal realms with the quality and density dropping each time."  Lind slowly nodded as he had grasped parts of that already.

Still, it was nice to have confirmation.

"May I ask why I was invited here for my breakthrough?"  Lind was holding it back easily before but now that he was here, it was getting harder for some reason.  He was trying to grasp why but the being seemed to make their hand more distinct before they pointed up.

Lind looked up and saw the dim orb floating in the sky.

"An opportunity has come to repair damage to the Heaven Realm.  The war with the Broken Ones has caused severe damage.  The Heaven Realm needs to be repaired or it will start to collapse before the next epoch."  Lind felt his heart still as he realized how serious the war had become.

"May I ask how you know that?"  The Elemental seemed to ponder for a moment and then Lind felt a massive headache for some reason as his ears began to bleed.  What just happened?!

"Apologies, we are not used to interacting with cultivators anymore.  It is allowed to reveal that a Heaven Realm has collapsed before due to such damage."  Lind was about to ask many questions but the pain made him reconsider.

He was touching on the secrets of reality.  Much like the 2 women he met at his rebirth, there was only so much he could perceive and pushing beyond that could kill him again.

Lind nodded and filed it away for research later.

"What can my breakthrough do to help then?"  Lind hoped that information would not hurt but the Elemental being seemed to relax at his question.

"You are a progenitor and entering the Sun Tier.  You are also creating a new foundation.  Heaven and Earth will respond to that.  Far more energy will be there than any other time before.  You are also a Divine Dragon.  Please implore the energy to reignite the sun and repair the sky."  Lind had expected a lot of answers but he had not expected such an insane set of revelations and requests!

"Let me see if I have this correct.  I will cause a massive reaction from Heaven and Earth when I break through and you want me to use it to…fix the Heaven Realm sky?"  The Elemental nodded and Lind felt like it was surreal.

A Heaven Realm, no matter how powerful they got, were still at the mercy of Heaven and Earth.  He might have a slight effect on tribulations but he had never imagined he would be asked to fix a massive part of a realm!

He pondered it but then realized he had no choice.  Time was at a limit and maybe it would help with the war.  It also may be how the Fiends were avoiding punishment from Heaven and Earth.

Still, he also had loved ones in mortal realms as well as the Heaven Realm.  He could not leave things as they were if he could help.

"Count me in."  Lind chose and he felt happiness all around him before he was led deeper into the Desolate Song and came to a massive crystal alter larger than any before!  It made him feel very uncomfortable until he realized what it had to be.

A Shard Tier Immortal Realm!  It was the most powerful being that could exist in the Heaven Realm!

"Breakthrough here.  The rest is up to you."  Lind nodded and began to prepare to become a Sun Tier.
