Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 649 - 648 - Radical Foundation

Chapter 649 - 648 - Radical Foundation

While Lind was put under some restrictions from his experiments, Lanbao still answered his questions about Laws.  Many would wonder why he was not focusing on the Sun Tier, it was because no one could help him.

Lind had been inspired a bit by his weaving 6th Circle.  It was composed of all 3 sets of elements so he had wondered if he could do something interesting.

The key to making the step to the Sun Tier was relatively easy to understand.  Once the moon was nurtured to the peak, the connections between the craters that made up each element must be brought together.

The fusion of those elements would ignite the moon and consume it until a sun was born.

The theory was simple, but doing it was not easy.  Fusing 2 elements, especially complementary ones, was simple to do.  Cultivators did it all the time with Arts, conjurings, and just simple comprehensions.

The constellations were a reflection of how far each element was grasped by a cultivator.  The unification on the surface of the moon meant all 6 elements now worked together, and the final step was true fusion of all the elements into a single core.

The sun was a kind of cauldron that would combine all the comprehensions a cultivator had until it could be unified with their soul.

Lind was a bit different already.  The 6 elementals skipped the Star Tier as they already had a full grasp of their elements but then had to work hard to progress in the Moon Tier.  Lind's fortunate encounters and horrific battles had pushed him ahead in that regard.

Still, he already had his soul involved.  His harmony and soul were already one.  He had to combine his elements still so that was the same but it gave him an idea.  Why could he not understand all of it at long last?

He had been studying the relationship between all 3 sets of elements ever since he learned of them back in the Lotus Academy.  At first it had been making artifacts to refine or generate the necessary elemental Qi for him to manipulate with his Heavenly Touch Talent.

His Heavenly Eyes let him see how much success he had while seeing how they worked together.  It had led to many discoveries and over the thousand years since he had finally begun to manipulate his Qi directly to generate demonic Qi.

It was far weaker than his current realm but he wondered if he could resolve that issue.  The Celestial Qi was a pipe dream he deeply understood as he was simply too weak.  Still, he included his comprehensions in the fusion connections he had been building in the last 500 years.

As he studied Laws under Lanbao, he saw he barely scratched the depths of cultivation.  Elements were in everything but behind them were the Laws that drove the existence of the universe.

It was similar to how water was made of 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen atom but the atomic law behind why those atoms came together at all was far more profound than the components themselves.

Lind could only grasp the very basics that Laws existed but much like the elements, his talent and ability to comprehend were key to his progress.  If the Laws remained opaque, a cultivator could never advance beyond the Sun Tier.

Based on his success with his profession, the Sliver Tier was feasible, but first he had to reach the last part of the Heaven Realm.

When he looked at the surface of his moon, he could see metal Qi between fire and earth with shadow between earth and darkness and so on.  It was finally nearing the peak of the Moon Tier as he had hoped.

There were faint lines glowing with weak Qi as well of Celestial Qi comprehension but that was all it was, ideas.

Lind had already been told by Lanbao that what he was doing was far beyond her.  She had never heard of any cultivator that could incorporate other Qi elemental sets into their dantian as he had.

He would argue he had not done that at all.  What he had done was understand how those demonic elements came to be.  He would never be a demon, but he understood that all the elements existed in Heaven and Earth.

They could not, by definition, be alien to each other.  It was simply nature, nurture, and comprehension that held people back.  He did understand if any other cultivator attempted it without 6 primary elements, they would run into major issues.

He was refining his moon when a knock came to his door.

"Come in, Gravis."  The handsome man came in looking haggard.  He had been busy in the last few months.

"Sorry for not warning you, but things moved fairly swiftly.  How bad is it?"  Lind waved to a chair next to a table.  He served tea to Gravis who gratefully drank it.

"Actually, it is more how you exposed how easily darkness could return.  We all thought it was gone forever, but new forms have cropped up.  The generations that have come after are not the sole source either, but those that lived through the horrible times back then."  Lind nodded.

He had expected some things.  He was not a god and could not control every individual.  He had no desire to.  In exchange for freedom, there would be the trade off of people being greedy, vile, and everything that could be.

All he could do was set laws and systems to support them.  After that, it would be a question of what could be found.

"The failure was all around.  Once the Emerald Souls began looking in earnest, it was found so easily.  So, we all failed to keep an eye out.  The more time passes, the more clever it will become."  Lind knew that very well.

The Kingdom of Altair, the Blood Empire, the Saint Kingdom, and so many other powers let horrific crimes pass under their watch but it was not possible to ever stop it all.  Lind at least planned to restrict it.

"Anyway, after most of the dust settled, a few changes were suggested but most of it is impossible to enforce.  It would require a dedicated and incorruptible force to make it possible."  Gravis looked exhausted.  Lind nodded in understanding.

"Such a reaction is normal but there may be ideas that can inspire something practical.  We need to let heads cool before deciding is the key.  Making snap choices after such tragedy or revelations can make things far worse in the long run."  Pick any world Lind had lived in and that fact was irrefutable.

"Benny said something similar but in a more…colorful…way."  Lind smirked at his words as they relaxed.  He saw Gravis slowly droop as sleep claimed him.

The man likely had pushed himself hard to make his body demand sleep.

He touched a part of his bracelet and a new servant appeared in front of him.  He was not too surprised to see one of the girls he had saved.  They refused to leave the Core Hall and he gave them purpose as they healed.

"Please get some help and take Lord Gravis to a chamber to rest.  No one is to disturb him."  She bowed low and quickly left to get help.  She was still skittish around many people but they had wept openly when they awoke safe in the Core Hall.

The technique Elder Jin had been using was found by accident in an old record.  Lind had ordered a harsh review of all texts that many happily complied with.  The Heavenly Maiden Sect had found a few references but it was simply a description of what to look for.

He let them keep those.

Gravis was carefully taken away.  It was clear he was exhausted but Lind knew most of what the man faced for him.

The Forge of Stars Sect was livid about the Emperor airing their dirty laundry so publicly and without any chance to quietly resolve the issue.

If not for the darker revelations, Lind would not have minded handling it a bit quieter but he would have insisted on revealing the fake bandits as examples of what happened when defying his edicts.

"The world is both one and disparate at the same time.  The dance between all that we wish to be true and what is reality will never stop."  Lind suddenly felt a jolt in his dantain.

Pain spread at first but then it settled quickly.

Lind examined his moon quickly and was shocked!  The demonic Qi bonds were now at the peak of the Moon Tier!  Further, he felt the connections flowing through all 6 crater systems perfectly with his emerald harmony shimmering even brighter.

"I am finally ready."  Lind realized he had benefited greatly from his recent battle and its fallout.  It had pushed his mind down the path he needed to finally consolidate his fusion preparation.

Lind summoned Linghu and Lanbao.  They would have to prepare a few things but mostly, he needed a place to go.  While normally there was no tribulation to face, Lind suspected his unique existence might prompt some kind of reaction.

It was just a feeling, but he trusted it.

His breakthrough to the Sun Tier would be his first true trial since ascending into the Heaven Realm.  He also hoped it might enlighten him on the mystery of how he arrived.

He was sipping at the tea when he felt something else in the room with him.  He slowly turned around and found a smoky humanoid form barely floating in his doorway to the outside.

How had the Elemental gotten inside the Core Hall?!

"Progenitor.  Your trial of dawn has come.  Please return to our final resting place to break through.  We await you."  Lind was shocked as the Elemental vanished.  He did not even have time to look with his Eyes to see what he could but swallowed his saliva as the pair he summoned appeared.

He informed them of the invitation and they made plans.  Lind also decided to inform the Heavenly Maiden Sect.  They had successfully negotiated to help guard the Desolate Song, so they had to know he was coming.

Lind began to prepare several things but he had honestly been getting ready for over 2 centuries now.  He looked out at the false sun in the false sky and wondered if his next step would be able to solve his other issue.

He wanted to leave, he wanted to be with his family, and he wanted to safeguard the people here.  He sighed and pushed all that aside as he had to focus.  The breakthrough was what he had to focus on and nothing else.
