Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 639 - 638 - 2 Empires with 1 Stone

Chapter 639 - 638 - 2 Empires with 1 Stone

Lind looked at the withered corpse of Xing but he had no time to gloat or deal with it.  He was simply examining her few storage treasures but only found some things that were useless to normal cultivators.

He did find the pills she used and they were indeed Fiend pills.  It made him curious about them as he had never seen such before but likely it was like the Law Binding, an experiment that succeeded.

He finally found a few jade slips and scrolls that had what he wanted.

"Here."  He handed the scrolls to Linghu who still had Shi clinging to him.  Neither man felt like stopping her as life and death had been threadbare for a while there.  As Linghu read the scrolls, Lind had to use an artifact to generate the Celestial Qi he needed.

At that moment he felt odd.  It was as if the struggle he once had with Celestial Qi had vanished.  He could never generate it on his own like demonic Qi under the right circumstances, but he could now control it as easily as his own.

He let it go for later study as he sunk his senses into the slips.  It fractured them a bit but he was still able to review information he had desperately wanted.

He knew how the Law Binding worked a bit better but the key thing had been his greatest concern, fuel.  No formation or weaving worked ad infinitum without some kind of energy source.

Xing had adapted it to use souls as they could be produced indefinitely as she regulated the 6 empires.  The key word was 'adapted.'

"Emperor Frey, do you understand this?"  Linghu held out a scroll that Lind immediately lit up at seeing.

"I do!  It will solve a major problem!  Come!"  They quickly headed back to Law Core room as Lind would need to use direct control compared to the limited kind the Seals gave.

Once they were there, all 3 froze as a wizened old man was now in the floor where Suzen had been.  He had been normal before but now he seemed to have lost all his vitality.

"Of course, we broke him free of the Law Binding.  It was sustaining him."  Without the flow of souls combined with the connection to the Law Binding, Suzen was finally allowed to die.

Even as they stood there, the body began to crumble and even the soul dispersed.  The man had been a living corpse for who knew how long but Xing had wrung all she could out of him.

Linghu then stood at the Core while Shi had to stay behind Lind at that point.  The Law Core would hurt her if she stayed attached to Linghu.

"We will be stopping the war faster than I realized, but it will be bloody."  Lind frowned but he needed to stop the loss of life as much as he could.

"Connect me to the jade stones across the empires we still reach."  Linghu nodded as a profound feeling filled the room.  Lind finally felt pain in his eyes so looked away until it went away.

The Law Core was clearly his limit and he dared not look at the Laws directly save one.

The slip of emerald still drew him in but he knew he was not ready.  It was a result of Heaven and Earth resonating with him at that critical moment.  His mind had been almost blank and exhausted so he had no time to have intrusive thoughts.

He had connected to what looked a lot like the progenitor tribulation but he felt no threat from it then.  It was like he knew it had not come to test him but to help.

The rest was a bit foggy but he saw Fiends dying to bolts of emerald lightning as the Heavens vented their long held wrath.

"It is ready, Emperor Frey."  Linghu's voice brought him out of his reverie.  He then saw a projection far more powerful and profound than any formation he had seen previously.  So much to explore but Lind focused on the current issue.

"To all that can hear my voice.  Xing, the Supreme Soulmancer, is dead.  The Core Hall is now in the hands of the Two Rivers Alliance.  To my forces in Perot, solidify your position and await my return."  He saw the chaos of Perot still raging so he sent an order.

The change was enough to see things calm down but more prisoners were taken rather than outright killing.

"To Karridan and Hilden, the rule of the Soulmancers is over, and I can prove it."  He then nodded at Linghu who then shifted part of the Law Array and Law Core.  A wave of Qi moved out.

The intensive work and study that Lind spent over a decade on now came to fruition with a simple move of a hand.

Hilden was burning.  Chaos had broken out as many leaders and imperial nobles suddenly keeled over as if strings had been cut.  The majority of minor leaders did not understand but the Soulmancers did.

The souls in each person were gone!  It was as if they had been pulled out by one of them but the bodies were all untouched.  It had also happened at the same time as was later found out.

"What was that announcement?  How could this Two Rivers Alliance even reach the Core Hall?"  A man was screaming in a concave meeting room.  The giant table in the middle held the elders but all were Soulmancers of peak Moon to Sun Tier.

The Empire falling apart around them was not their concern.  The empires could always be reclaimed in a few centuries.  No one could defy them.

As they got louder and louder arguing, a wave of Qi washed over them all.  A dead silence suddenly covered the land.

No more screams or shouts of rage as just silence was all that there was.  The Soulmancers were the same.

All their heated words and plans were shattered in a single moment as panic began to slowly crawl over their souls.

The brand was gone!  The brand that was the foundation of their entire power was just ripped away in the blink of an eye!

The once chaotic Hilden streets seemed to suddenly become of one mind as they turned to a giant citadel on a mountain overlooking the capital city of Kain.  The fear in the back of everyone since they were old enough to understand was the Soulmancers and all knew the key to their power was the brand on their dantian.

It was as if the public had become of one mind and moved as one being to get revenge for untold generations of living in fear.  The once powerful weavings were all broken as the souls trapped inside had lost the brands as well!

The foundation of the Soulmancers was wiped out in a single moment and now the masses were expressing their true feelings as the black robes began to fight back.  Sheer numbers overcame them but it was a massacre to kill each one.

Still, before even half a day went by, there was not a single Soulmancer left alive in Hilden.

"How dare you revolt against us!"  A noble with frazzled blonde hair and blood flowing from a head wound tried to use a rapier to keep the commoners away from him.  The filthy ants were swarming his home but he was still standing.

The brands were gone!  The time to seize power from the Soulmancers was right then but the rabble were attacking the nobility!  How dare they!

A sudden sensation of imbalance came over him as he saw something impossible.  His right arm was flying across the room!  How?!  He did not even have time to scream as his head followed!

Why were none of his life saving artifacts working?

He died never knowing that any weaving based on the last million years of tyrannical rule of the Soulmancers had ceased functioning.  The brand was not only the basis of ruling the people but was integral to the success of the corrupted weavings the Soulmancers used.

The chaos across Karridan was only rising but the soldiers were not all conscripts.  They were actually loyal to the Imperial family so a brutal internal battle was turning against the commoners until a shadow filled the sky.

Azure scales with cold reptilian eyes stared down at Karridan.  It was an Immortal aether beast!  The aura slammed into them all and brought all fighting to a halt!

"This war is over.  Wait patiently for Lord Frey to come."  Not a peep was made as even the current Emperor could not even move a single finger under the flood dragon's pressure.  How could such a monster still be alive in the Hinterlands and how did Lind Frey subdue it?!

The large man almost got a finger to move when azure flames razed his throne room into oblivion.

"Anyone else want to make trouble?"  An almost anticipatory tone to the voice made all shiver as no one dared even breathe wrong!

As if the pause was timed perfectly, the teleportation array lit up and a young man appeared in crimson robes that had seen better days.  Blood stained him but his emerald eyes left no doubt about who he was.

"Lanbao, thank you."  The flood dragon bowed low which left all in shock.  An Immortal beast bowed to a measly Moon Tier?!  Why?!

"For those wondering how this will go, I am afraid any noble family will be faced with their crimes but I will ensure as fair a process as possible.  Report to the Imperial Palace ground in Tongyi City.  You have 1 week or you will be summarily executed.  Anyone thinking of running, I suggest you simply look up."  A flood dragon seemed to smile with massive fangs looking down at them all.

No one dared even consider running as an Immortal did not need to move to kill them at a distance.

The 2 Empires were felled in a single move.  Gaining an Immortal Realm aether beast also cemented fear in the hearts of Lind's enemies while his allies dismissed any ambitions they had as more territory was conquered.

All the old powers fell as the new one swallowed them all up!  The war was indeed over forever.
