Chapter 617 - 616 - Rebellion
Chapter 617 - 616 - Rebellion
Timat sat in his office. He rarely actually worked anymore as most of the hands on stuff had to be handled by his toys. It made for several issues but he made sure to cover his blindspots heavily.
Aiden had been 1 of 3 interesting experiments but ultimately disappointing. He could have offspring leave the Inner Garden while not personally converting cultivators themselves, but they were far inferior to normal Fiends.
He had been stunned to learn they also had more attachment to their food!
Timat may play with them, but it was simply boredom, not true emotion. These ants were all just resources to him! A way to grow stronger, but the damned Law Binding held him back from the last step.
A report that made him smile finally appeared in a jade slip on his desk. He examined it and his smile deepened.
"So, that witch is almost done making her replacement. She has no idea what awaits her when that happens!" Xing was known to him but she assumed he was dead. In the beginning, she was merely one of the team working on the Law Core and Law Array with Suzen.
He applauded her punishment but had thought she was too shallow after that. It was only when she trained 2 siblings all of a sudden that he understood she had been waiting. They needed a replacement to undo Suzen's betrayal.
It was the first ray of hope in so long and he immediately made plans. The whole Orwellia Empire was his playground from the Inner Garden, but there were issues still.
There were always places the original formations and weavings were breaking down. With no one to truly fix them, it was inevitable. Timat was unconcerned as he had long prepared for any idiotic army, yet none came.
It mystified him until he realized Aiden was helping them. The little brat did have some of his father in him! Timat had been quite proud that day!
Still, he taught the brat a lesson. He let Aiden feel safe to the point he took one of the filthy humans as a wife! He was about to kill her when he was floored by a piece of news. She was pregnant.
Timat had children but the process was not kind to the mothers at all. In fact, he was forced to be more cruel than normal with his limitations. The forceful influx of Fiend Qi ravaged the bodies so his success rate was rather low compared to how it could have been.
Fiends needed other Fiends to have an easier time of it but even then it was difficult to reproduce like other races could.
No Fiend knew why but Heaven and Earth seemed against them in every way yet still allowed them to continue.
Aiden did not have any issue at all. There was no restriction nor any sign of Heavenly Wrath. Timat was stunned and actually lauded his son further in his mind. If he could produce puppets that way, it would be much more efficient!
The woman had been a Sky Realm so it took some time for the pregnancy to complete. It was the balance because the powerful forces inside a cultivator could easily kill a newborn if the usual 9 months passed.
The Qi would move through the meridians and protect the life inside the womb as it grew carefully. It was not impossible for a 2 or 3 year old to reach the peak of Body Refining Realm after being born!
The day finally came and Timat studied the child, yet the little baby was a disappointment. As she grew up, there were a few characteristics but she had natural Qi. No sign of Fiend Qi at all.
Sighing it had been a waste of time, if an interesting distraction, he took the woman from both his son and his then teenage daughter.
He thought he was quite generous to give them 13 years together.
Aiden had already been helping the rebellion for nearly 5 centuries and after some careful 'interrogation' the woman revealed she had been the one to rope him in. She screamed she loved Aiden even until he wore her out.
She was very annoying. He took her apart in his anger and was irritated that she died so easily after only a few weeks of torture.
He had flaunted the tiny blue jade pendant in front of the 2 survivors. While the little ant girl had wept and screamed as he expected, Aiden surprised him.
He coldly asked if there was anything else he needed or if he had a mission for him. Timat was praising his boy once more in his mind but sneering at the obvious planning.
It was amusing to see how far AIden would go but then he did something he could not forgive.
He hid intruders from him!
Timat could not find them, but Aiden did! Timat realized who the intruders might be! Emissaries from that intruder to the Law Binding!
He, too, had been stunned when Dar Empire fell so quickly to that new force. It showed not only strong tactical leadership but a kind of raw power that concerned his future plans.
The puppets could reach there but it would risk exposing himself to Xing so normal spies collected what they could. It was frustratingly not much, but his son had seemingly reached out with Timat none the wiser!
Unlike previously, Timat was neither amused nor proud. Aiden had proven to be a threat!
"My lord?" Timat snapped out of reverie as blood entered his nose. The large man in now blood drenched white robes was the current emperor of Orwellia. He was a fit but overly weak man in character. Yet, his body was gifted for torture and punishment.
He took some molding but Timat was proud of his work.
"He still refuses to give up the information?" Timat was frustrated, He had captured his son easily but refining him into a resource would not yield answers. Worried he would get carried away, he sent a professional in rather than himself.
"I am afraid he was prepared. The moment I went to crack his dantian, it shattered completely. He died not long after." Timat froze.
Rage roared from him as all 6 Fiend elements ravaged the room. Anything not using such Qi was blackened and forever destroyed. That included the emperor.
Timat just barely stopped from killing the man.
"ANT!" His roar brought a shivering wreck of a man running. He was balding yet looked far too young to have the issue. He was also covered in scars with some parts of his body not quite the same size as their counterparts.
He was yet another experiment of Timat's that had survived when all others died.
"Yes, Master!" The man dared not move much more as Timat was very temperamental. He also saw the barely alive Emperor.
"Arrange another assassination. Have the crown imperial prince do it. If he argues, bring his first wife here." The scarred man shivered but quickly obeyed. He summoned 2 puppets to carry the emperor away before following after.
Timat slowly grimaced at the state of his office before another jade slip lit up. He quickly examined the update and frowned.
He, too , had been keeping an eye on the Hinterlands and the former Dar Empire, yet nothing was found. In the 15 years since its fall, the changes had been like lightning.
After some thought he went to the back of his office where a single book still stood unblemished. It defeated the point of a secret doorknob being so visible but he did not care.
The bookcase swung open and he entered a small room where a whimpering man hung. He was ravaged by many wounds yet despite the clear blood loss, he did not die.
"You have held out on me. Aiden is dead. I no longer can toy with you. Tell me where the rebels are or you will only wish I would kill you." The haggard man looked shocked and began to shake his head in denial but then slowly lost all hope.
It had been a solid century of torture but Timat had held off. He had imagined a scenario where he showed up in the rebel's camp when Aiden was there seeing his daughter one day. He would refine her and all the rest right in front of his son.
That dream died but a true threat had to be dealt with. If the rebels and the new power joined up, it would spell trouble. He also did not want Xing interfering.
As if his thought summoned her, a large stone on the wall lit up. Sighing, he looked at it only to frown at the contents.
"Has she gone mad?! That will only tell people you are afraid!" Xing's order to find the intruder and his forces proved control was slipping away. Foolish humans would try to use it and die but any true rebellious forces with spies would have hope!
They would flock to the banner of the intruder and work with him!
"He, he! It seems, Leader won!" Timat snapped and a vile black light slashed across the room before he could stop it. The human was reduced to a baked piece of flesh in an instant!
"DAMN IT!" Timat vindictively consumed the soul that floated still in front of him. He could get no information but the human would not get his just reward in samsara!
The truth of the Law Binding effect to prevent souls from dispersing was not for Soulmancers, but for Fiends. It was a certainty of resources to increase their strength as far too many committed suicide making things a waste.
He summoned a communication stone from his ring and gave out orders.
"Raid the known rebel strongholds and drive them to reveal their headquarters. Do it now!" Blood would flow and Timat would kill all his enemies in one go. He raged at his constraints but was not so foolish to try and have them brought to him.
Better his enemies were corpses and be done with it!
