Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 459 - 458 - Dark Secrets

Chapter 459 - 458 - Dark Secrets

The center of the island was once more full of the alphas of Wild Heart Isle.  Some were disgruntled but if they had not come, the others would have disrespected them if it turned out to be something important.

The only reason some were there was due to the unusual request coming from Lind Frey.  In the last 20 years, his sect had settled in without disrupting their lives.  In fact, most could easily state that things had improved.

Several Star Tiers sang his praises in particular and the results spoke for themselves.  The last decade had seen the man travel the island.  His dragon soul almost guaranteed his safety as bloodline suppression made it near impossible to attack him.

He taught those willing to listen and many younglings were sent to his sect as the elders there taught the lessons to many more of them at a time.

The resources were also better while another dragon led expeditions to face other beasts.  Wild Heart Isle was not like cultivators' lands.  It was perfectly normal for life and death to occur everyday, but Moebius Sect made it so that beasts that attended were taught how to survive.

The chance to face humans, demons, and aether children was relatively rare on the island so after facing fellow disciples in a spar, the beasts then applied the lessons in the rest of the island.

It made some packs worry but Lind offered to teach them as well.  That open door policy had conditions but after nearly 30 years, the beasts saw the benefits.  They also understood that the Moebius Sect was odd.

Other powers' members they met were far more arrogant and merciless in battle.

They also seemed to hate other races in most cases, or at least had solidarity when faced with another race.  Humans were vicious in the same powers as they betrayed their own to survive or just do what they wanted.

The hypocrisy made beasts distrust them instinctively but Lind Frey had proven there was another aspect to them.

Thus, they all gathered to see what the strange man had found.  The fact some of the western alphas also wholeheartedly agreed was something that piqued their interest as well.

"Zhudao, you are the nearest to him.  What would make that boy demand a meeting?"  A crimson feathered bird that was nearly 7 meters tall asked the napping lioness what she thought of Lind Frey.

"He is difficult to grasp.  The humans and demons that go out are disciples but so long as they follow the normal rules I have little conflict, yet there was an incident when he was still there."  Zhudao shifted her form as she slowly became a humanoid.  She looked up at the bird but he made no sign to change.

Her robes were as dark as her fur but her face was a healthy glow.  She had the eyes of her beast form still and her ears were a little too rounded but those that knew she only recently became a Star Tier were shocked at her progress!

It had been rumored that Lind Frey's teachings could help Star Tiers explosively progress but the proof was more obvious in the young Zhudao.

"One of the humans under him decided to hunt and kill a cub of my pride.  The battle was open and honest.  The human, however, was at least a full major realm above her.  I do not know the full details of how he found out, but just when the cub was about to die, Lind Frey appeared."  Zhudao then shivered.

She clearly remembered that day.

She had seen many cultivators frustrated, defiant, and angry for various reasons.  She even admired the few that sacrificed themselves to save their comrades.  Their deaths were swift and their bodies were returned intact to the humans of the transit city.

Still, the rage of Lind Frey that day had terrified her.

"The human was going to use the cub's corpse in a cultivation manual to steal her bloodline.  It was relatively powerful and the human would have become much stronger, but apparently there is a rule in the Moebius Sect."  Zhudao looked towards the Mengcong so far away from the center of the island.

"What rule?"  The large bird was now curious.

"People are not things.  Never treat them as things.  The human male could have chosen to fight the parent of the cub and get a much better bloodline but the fight would have been extremely dangerous.  Most humans would find no objection to going after a weaker foe, but Lind Frey apparently does."  It was not like a cultivator or beast in that regard.

"That is foolish.  Why risk life and death when it is not necessary?"  A few looked at the spotted hyena that spoke.  He towered over 6 meters tall and 8 in length but he was not known as a coward.  He was, however, very devious in his battles.

"I do not know the reason but it is apparently taught that if following the path of assimilation they are required to put their life on the line.  They are stealing the life and bloodline of another person.  He spoke it all but the human male sneered that power was all that mattered."  Zhudao then looked pale.

The next moment she would remember for the rest of her days.

"Power is important but how that power is used is equally important.  A vile coward that only attacked the weak to further their goal was no longer welcome at the sect.  He then crippled him right in front of me.  There was no gloating or dark joy, only disappointment."  The look on Lind Frey's face was powerful and terrifying.

Zhudao would rather face an angry or raving Lind Frey than see that face ever again.  It was as if Heaven and Earth rendered judgment  and did not care one whit about the work the human male put in.  The indifference was strangely far worse than anything else she had seen.

"Afterwards, he took the cub in and she came back to us a major realm higher and far more powerful than her parents."  Shock flooded the group.  While beasts could increase their cultivation fairly easily, increasing their power was not a certainty.  Exceeding a parent before being at the same level was unheard of unless an ancestral bloodline was awakened.

"What about the crippled human?"  Zhudao looked into the narrow face of the crimson bird.

"He is still alive.  He is forced to serve the beasts and other disciples of the sect for the rest of his days."  The beasts thought it a light punishment but the Star Tiers now understood Zhudao's shiver.  Not only crippled but forced to serve the remainder of their life at the sect!

Death would have been a release from that hell!

Many Star Tiers swiftly re-evaluated how they thought of Lind Frey in that moment and took the meeting far more seriously.

"Lord Frey has arrived!"  Dalia suddenly called out.  His massive boar form was easy to see and some alphas roared in response.  All looked up at the sky as Lind Frey and Cindrel from the west arrived.

Her azure scales shone brightly under the sun but all immediately sensed how cold both of them were.  Lind Frey was not well known but his aura made it clear something was wrong.

Many beasts shook their sensitive noses as it felt dangerous to perceive the scent of Lind Frey at that moment.  Cindrel was not much different but her clear respect for Lind Frey stunned many.

Salamanders were known for their antagonism to cultivators.  As a race that was highly sought after due to their elemental affinities, it was given that they had a very negative view of cultivators.

"Thank you all for coming.  I would normally be more courteous but first, please forgive my next actions."  Before all could absorb his words, his draconic aura slammed into them all.  It had become more powerful!

Artifacts swiftly appeared and none could react before strange Qi filled the air!

Sigils flew from Lind engraved into the air and the strange Qi collected before a strange artifact appeared.

It was a column with 4 spikes coming out of the top and 4 spheres at the end of each.  A wave of profound aura washed over the crowd before a display began to glow.

Lind's eyes narrowed as 3 red dots appeared.

"Kill them!"  The crimson bird, the hyena, and water moccasin with dark scales were marked out.  The roar of another dragon filled the air as a prismatic blast appeared.  It was Ethry and her strength had increased into the later Sky Realm stages.

She was more than enough to kill the snake but the other 2 were Star Tiers.  Before the shocked crowd,  elemental webs wrapped up the bird and hyena.

They then shredded their bodies like clay!

Lady Gua!

The expected blood shed was not what happened, however.  Instead of the red or elemental rich blood aether beasts would shed, a putrid smell filled the air.

It was a stench all beasts knew instinctively.

"FIENDS!"  The enemy of all life was imprinted in all race memories but the more shocking revelation was that 3 of their number were corrupted by those monsters without anyone noticing.

"Send orders to Little Fey.  I want those areas locked down now!  Further, kill any that resist.  Go!"  Lind Frey was no longer simply a member of their group, he was leading it!

Ethry and Lady Gua bowed as they moved in 2 different directions.  There was no need to return to the sect to give orders and they were powerful enough to deal with preliminary steps.

"Lady Zhudao and Lord Dalia, please support Moebius Sect in this endeavor as there is more."  Both beasts were released from his suppression.  Dalia likely could have broken free but chose not to due to his respect for a dragon soul.

The revelations that followed were more than justification that his instincts were right.

"As for the rest of you.  The Fiends set up a larder in senior Cindrel's lands but the formations hiding it developed a defect.  I suspect there are more.  I need to know of any strange or odd behavior of cultivators to beasts in your territories.  I already suspect recent caravans that have drawn my eye."  The suppression lifted.

Some were offended but one glance at the now rotting corpses shifted all beasts to his side.  All wars would cease until the Fiends were expunged from the island.

"One last thing, Moebius Sect has been protected by all of you to some extent.  I appreciate that but the time of hiding is over.  The enemy is here and we will remove them to the root!"  As he spoke his aura spiked once more.  Unlike before, however, there was no suppression but a breaking of shackles.

They felt the wave of Qi that showed he had broken through to tier 5!  A ghostly shape took form as he broke through.  It was a sinuous emerald dragon!  All bowed in respect as the feeling of an ancient monster was clear.  The Wild Heart Isle was united for the first time in its history, no matter how temporary, under Lind Frey!
