Chapter 458 - 457 - Pebble in the Pond

Chapter 458 - 457 - Pebble in the Pond

The Moebius Sect grounds had changed in the last few decades.  Once Lind took over, he began to expand the integration of the Mengcong into the outer sect.  Beasts came in all sizes and not all could change theirs either but the space needed to welcome them was large.

Lady Gua had been happy to see Lind accommodate the beasts more but not impose on the jungle around him.  The trees were treated as fixed beings and were taken care of within the area circumscribed by the outer sect but no wall was constructed.

Those beasts that lived in the trees were allowed to make a place in the branches but any previous resident was not kicked out.  It was chaos at first but after a decade, it was perfectly normal after each admission exam that new beasts made a home for themselves.

Inner disciples were those that could control their sizes and also reached the mid tiers of tier 4 of the Sky Realm.  Core Disciples were those that reached tier 7 and could continue.  Elders was a bit of a gray area as unlike other sects, the Moebius Sect elders always seemed to grow stronger very quickly.

It had been terrifyingly fast once Lind returned.

Part of the reason his wives had him take a journey was to slow down some of that progress.  They needed the manpower for the upcoming revelation of their location as they were firmly established in the Mengcong.

If all their members reached the Star Tier so quickly it seemed they would hardly stay.  Lady Gua was a prime example.

Lind had only been there for 25 years but in the 15 Lady Gua talked and learned from him, she went from nearly 3 elements to 5 in a very quick but solid fashion.  Other Star Tiers noticed and came to consult and learn.

Resources were gained in exchange but all of the Star Tiers also made massive progress in integrating the missing elements into their dantian!

Lind was like a pebble tossed into a pond.  At first the waves were minor but as time passed the waves increased in size and strength but unlike the eventual settling of pond surfaces, Lind just kept making waves!

His in depth study of all 6 elements and how they related now showed its results after centuries of helping other 6 elementals to catch up to him.  In the Sky Realm, 6 elementals seemed to finally flourish.

The crystal cores created to make a Sky Core no longer had the duality of tempering and foundation balancing for them.  They had to absorb and refine Qi like everyone else but just more of it.

Further, because they had all 6 elements, their capacity as a variation of Sky Cores were far more powerful.  Nearly all the 6 elementals had reached low tier 4 at least in the last couple decades.

The power they could put out, even those that barely crossed into tier 4, let them fight at least a tier above if not 2.  Such power and numbers put them on par with some of the supreme powers!

If not for Star Tiers, the Moebius Sect would be a terrifying rise in power.  Tier 9 Sky Realms were also monsters in enough numbers as well.  The supremes sects were supreme for the very reason that they had a very high success rate to reach the peak of the Sky Realm and Star Tier beyond.

Now that he was gone, everyone slowed down, save the prodigies or geniuses that could improve on their own.

"I miss Wyndam."  Lysanna was currently in the Sect Master's office.  She and the other wives shared the duties but she was the best at the administration side of things.  Her brother was somewhere in the Floating Isles but had pursued his own path.

His family was growing and she had at least gotten to meet her nephew and niece before ascending.  She had heard he had several more children before leaving the lower world but brought his children with him.

He had joined the high power of Burning Wings Sect.  They were an alchemical and refining heavy sect that enjoyed massive profits but Wyndam had made it triple after simply re-evaluating their wasted methods.

Lind had made Wyndam be very flexible in his thinking and to get all that was needed to raise up the sudden needs of a massive 6 elemental cultivator rise in resource needs.  They needed all Qi stones, herbs, and so forth but there were only so many in the world.

Wyndam and Lind had gotten inventive and supposedly Lind was the one that figured out how to make their own areas to fill their needs as time went on.  Such a method was not new but Lind had in depth knowledge to have each elemental effect support the others so there was less need to resupply.

Wyndam adapted it for his sect and was promoted to a Vice-Sect Master while still being a tier 2 Sky Realm!

Lind had laughed when he heard and asked for pictures of the kids!  She sighed as she reviewed the records of the underground demon caverns.

The same as the old sect, Lind had set up each of the 6 demon elements and they had quickly become enriched.  The demons and demonic beasts now had a steady supply of resources up to the middle tiers of the Sky Realm.

The Moebius Sect was very stable and once Lind returned, they could finally reveal themselves.  She was about to send for one of the inner disciples assisting her today when a jade stone flared on her desk.

It made her blood freeze as her face paled.

"Shoti!  Ethry!  Cyntilla!  Report to Lind's office now!"  She infused a stone in her ring and felt a response.  She knew Shoti and Ethry were in the sect but Cyntilla had been on her way back from an expedition for training.

Other powerful beasts and core disciples would be fine if they were within the Mengcong once more.  Time seemed to take an eternity until she felt 2 of them arrive outside her door.  She undid the wards and both women on the other side looked in concern until they saw the glowing jade stone on the golden wooden surface.

"How long?"  Shoti moved quickly but Ethry closed her eyes as she tried to reach out to Lind.

"I called you when it started.  Qing is isolated working on a heart demon one of our core disciples is going through.  Annabelle is currently visiting with the Matron again so I do not know when she will be able to talk."  Shoti nodded but both flinched when Ethry's aura flared.

"He is very angry.  I have only felt that a few times but there was also fear.  Where is Little Fey?"  Both were caught off guard.  Little Fey had just made explosive growth to tier 7, only matched by Ethry a year ago.  They were now the strongest of their core group.

"She is on the eastern side of the island, looking into the strange caravans the beasts have told us about.  Kora is with her too."  Ethry nodded but then another stone popped into her hands.

"Tal and Lady Gua, come to Lind's office as soon as possible."  Lysanna was confused.  Why was she calling for Tal?  Lady Gua made perfect sense if Lind was so angry that Ethry could feel it.

Before anyone could ask, a demonic aura appeared outside on the balcony.  Cyntilla was let in and saw the stone.  Her virulent green eyes narrowed before she turned to them.

"Where is he?"  Ethry pointed to the west.

"He is very far away.  It could take weeks to cross the island but hopefully we will have some answers soon."  Ethry then glanced as a pale human woman with black leather armor appeared.

Lady Gua no longer looked like a mix between human and beast.  She only had a single pair of eyes but anyone that thought her tiny frame was weak would be in for a nasty surprise.

"That boy has demanded a meeting of all the alphas.  Not asked, demanded.  The western alphas also echoed his demand."  Lady Gua's words surprised them.  What had Lind found?

"When do we leave?"  Lady Gua was surprised but then a young woman came in looking grim.  All were surprised aside from Ethry.

"Papa is angry."  She produced a jade stone and all of them realized that Lind truly saw Tal as his daughter to give her such a stone personally.  The artifact on the desk was fixed and used for emergencies.

It meant to secure the walls and prepare for extreme danger.

Tal had a communication stone that reached her no matter where she and Lind were!

"What did he say?"  Lysanna was the first to ask but Tal looked cold.  Her normally bubbly smile and laughter were not present.  Her skin also seemed to become rough as her emotions were riding high.

"They are here.  Little Fey knows what needs to be done.  She will be back in the sect shortly.  She is in charge."  Tal spoke but then cried.  "He told me to go home quickly and not to leave the sect!"

Cyntilla took her in an embrace but all of them were shocked.  Little Fey was in charge?  She had the authority but what had Lind found that Little Fey was in charge?

Lady Gua looked grim.  She seemed to know.

"Fiends.  He found something about Fiends.  He told me what happened on Yinande and we both agreed that little girl would be in charge having faced them multiple times before."  There was no teasing or silliness in Lady Gua's attitude right then.

All of them looked at each other and realized it must be something large and very bad.  Lind had called for the alphas but that meant Lind suspected a broader issue.

"Ethry, go with Lady Gua to the meeting.  You are the fastest flier in the Wild Heart Isle.  Once we have the full picture, we can adjust whatever plans Fey comes up with."  Lysanna began to give out orders.

Shoti began to try and contact Fey but was stunned when the front gate told her Fey was already there!  How was that possible?

It would take days to come back from the east.  Either Lind contacted her first or she had an artifact from Lind that allowed for personal teleportation!  Why would Fey have such an artifact?!

"Get back to us quickly, Ethry.  This seems to be a very bad thing the more we learn."  Lady Gua and Ethry both returned to their natural states as they took to the skies.  Their natural bodies were far less strain and they quickly vanished to the horizon.

The rest of them looked on as they became black dots and found the blue and sunny sky a mockery of their current atmosphere.  Fiends were on their island.  After what happened on Yinande, they all realized how terrifying that could become all too quickly.

They began to disperse as Lysanna prepared to follow Fey's orders.  Moebius Sect was no longer at peace and preparing for war.
