Chapter 350 - 349 - Divine Realm Benefits
Chapter 350 - 349 - Divine Realm Benefits
The power of Cymera was undeniable. The terrifying ability to rend space on command was something few could defend against save some demons or artifacts designed to do so. The demand for such artifacts was quite rare as Voidwalkers were just as rare.
To the best of Lind's knowledge, there was no natural counter to the ability. His skin could withstand it for a time, but that was all. He had to use demonic Qi to repair or counter the tears Cymera made.
Tal, on the other hand, seemed like she was doing something that negated a Voidwalker's skills. As Lind did not play with creating tears into the void, for obvious reasons, it had never come up.
"How did you find me?" Lind was treating the wounded with Tessa bringing them over. Her robes stood out like a beacon, but Cymera could do nothing to stop anyone anymore.
Each time she tried to teleport, she got tossed out within a massive radius of Tal. Lind estimated it was easily 2 kilometers but he could not understand what she was doing. His Eyes did not see Qi exactly doing anything, but it had to be doing something.
Tal was 1 of 2 unique existences in the mortal realm. They had died in the Divine Realm world but thanks to Senior Skinwalker's Inheritance, they now lived. Lind had changed their original fates and they became new existences from what he could grasp.
How Skinwalker manifested them was far beyond his ability to understand but they were alive and their memories were intact. As Lind recalled that day he remembered something Skinwalker stated.
"I gave them bodies to withstand your world…" Lind mumbled the words but Tessa did not seem to hear him. Tal slammed Cymera back into the sky but the Voidwalker was unable to stabilize as the earth launched Tal like a shot!
Stone seemed to harden around her and she impacted Cymera once more. Even from their distance to the battle, both Lind and Tessa could hear a crack as ribs broke.
A Diamond Tier had actually hurt a Sky Realm!
Lind narrowed his eyes to look for something else aside from elements. The floating colors he usually filtered out appeared for a moment but he narrowed it down until he could finally see it.
Spiritual Qi! Tal was using her soul! A soul that was from the Divine Realm!
"Heaven and Earth are like clay to the Divine Realm, she is actually exerting her soul on the mortal realm." Aether beasts were different to all other races. Aether children only had a few innate skills but Kora, Ethry, and Tal always surprised him.
They also shared innate skills of their race but they also seemed to be able to use Qi out of instinct that would take others centuries to learn how to use. Kora and Tal were both from a Divine Inheritance but between the 2, Kora had decades of life to moderate her expectations against her instincts.
Tal, in sharp contrast, was always pushing her boundaries as she never knew such existed. Clearly, she understood how fragile the world was and due to her innate grasp of earth, she was able to stabilize the mortal realm to the world she was born in.
The sheer power Lind would need to pull off what she seemed to do effortlessly made him shocked to his core.
"Senior dragon soul, what is the cost for this?" She contemplated it but unlike Lind, she did not have much experience with the Divine Realm cultivators.
"Honestly, no tribulation is here so that is the best sign. Demons are not normally so abrasive to the existence of the mortal world so it might be why. There is something you should be able to do at your realm to see." Lind was surprised and concentrated.
When he opened his eyes again and they became vertical slits while his chest rumbled. The Maidens and Tessa flinched as the sound seemed to make them feel tiny but they did not know why.
It only lasted a few moments but when it stopped, Lind looked pale but excited.
"Heaven and Earth, we always talk about them but Heaven is what we fear. Earth is not to be underestimated!" What he had done was resonate his divine bloodline which allowed Lind's Heaven Eyes to see more than usual.
What he saw was stunning. It was not exactly elemental Qi but Tal was harmonizing with the other half of the duality of Heaven and Earth. Heavenly tribulations would come for major realm advancement or punishment, but Earth was hardly spoken of.
Now, Lind grasped it. Tal intrinsically understood earth Qi and many applications but the level of Qi she grasped was far above this world's existence.
She now faced a being that could rend the world asunder so she stabilized it out of instinct by harmonizing her Qi to the whole of Earth. The world, itself, was fighting with her against Cymera!
He immediately knew the dangers having faced Heavenly Wrath and tribulations as he had.
"We have to stop the fight! Tal will die if she pushes herself to actually surpass Cymera!" Tal had the upper hand but Cymera was testing her. She seemed obsessed with people that were not fragile to her and Tal had to be the most mesmerizing person she ever saw!
"I can try, but while I have experience with the Akashic Bloodline Physique, a Voidwalker is not something I can stop." Lind knew she was right but he was desperate. He delved into his ring for any inspiration but only elixirs and many forged items of various quality stared back.
"I can–" Senior dragon soul tried again to help but Lind stopped her cold. He would not sacrifice one person for another until the last moment. Tal shouted with rage as she slammed Cymera into the ground.
The crater was just as massive as her first attack of a meteor! Sweat glistened on her skin. She was starting to strain herself while Cymera bled a bit here or there and was clearly recovering from her injuries insanely fast.
Tessa frowned when she saw that as Lind knew she would.
"That is not possible without a pill or elixir, no tremor of Qi at all. How is her body healing like that?" Lind grimaced at the question as he had strong suspicions but to speak them aloud would be making them real.
"Nevermind that for now. I need to think." Tessa took over from him but most of the Maidens were fine. He saw Tal getting paler and her Qi was depleting at last to defend herself. She was not bleeding but it was only a matter of time.
They were not in the Divine Realm nor the Inheritance but he had lived in that environment for almost 5 years.
There had to be something from Skinwalker's Inheritance!
Lind suddenly froze.
It was as if a door opened in his mind. He knew what Cymera was. He knew what gave her the abilities she possessed. Of anyone alive, only someone from Earth and experiencing Skinwalker's Inheritance could possibly grasp the possibility.
"Tessa, I am going to help Tal, but whatever happens, protect the Maidens from what is about to happen." An arched eyebrow raise was all she gave him but her looks made that a bit distracting in the moment.
Lind took a breath before he summoned an elixir. It was the best he could make as low Heaven grade 5 but it seemed clear. It was an accident as he contemplated his Dao and what Skinwalker was trying to achieve.
He had thought of Chimeric Accords back then but without the actual technique, he was lost as to the details but Earth had similar ideas from what Tessa and Kalen had told him about.
It was an audacious idea but it had massive risks and he wondered if he could help. It was always his response to help.
He was now going to use it as a weapon but how to get it there?
Lind infused air and earth Qi into him before he noticed a strange change to his earth Qi. The external Qi seemed more than willing to obey his commands. He could not fully grasp the reason but he could guess looking at Tal.
She was familiar with him and likely knew he would not stand aside.
The world blurred for a moment as he also shot off but he used earth to move so the air could suppress sounds. He was like a silent reaper flying across the ground. His robes would normally draw attention but Cymera seemed only to have Tal in her eyes.
"This is a very bad plan." Lind had an idea but it was full of holes. It all hinged on his scales holding on and hoping Cymera still was interested in his strong existence after meeting Tal.
He had been watching Tal use her spirit and felt it was a bit familiar. He had felt the same unifying his soul to his foundation. They were of Heaven and Earth originally but separated for their purpose in his dantian.
He reunited them and the resonance between them gave him a foundation that was critical to 6 elementals. Any disharmony would fracture or damage their cultivation path as it had since the dawn of history.
"Senior, no matter what you see, do not interfere. I will shoulder this battle." Lind gave one more warning to senior dragon soul and his full aura was in it. He could not see the smile on her soul when she felt it but he did feel her agreement.
The battle was before him but he had to slow down as Tal made Cymera airborne once more. The Voidwalker demon seemed thrilled and laughing while taking injuries but Tal was nearly tapped out.
Sending up a small prayer, Lind summoned his scales and the world seemed to slow down for him. Tal was covered in sweat that made her robes stick to her but not hinder her. Her skin flowed with Qi in a beautiful pattern to make it harder than any material.
It did not slow her down one whit and he was so proud of her control after fumbling so much when she first assumed human form. Her natural state might eke out more power but it could not respond to the attacks from Cymera so easily.
Lind narrowed his focus onto Cymera. Her leathery wings and tail with horns truly lived up to the demon race he knew of from Earth but now that he was looking at spirit Qi, he could see the horror of what Cymera was.
The rage sparked and the world changed.
"ENCASE!" Tal responded instantly before Cymera could react as pillars of earth roared to wrap all four limbs and tail. The earth traps cracked nearly instantly but that instant was the only window Lind needed as he exploded forth at the same time he yelled.
Cymera actually looked even happier as she opened her mouth to laugh loudly.
A vial slammed into her mouth as Lind then dumped the elixir into it. He gave her no chance to spit it out as he clasped her mouth and nose closed. Even a Sky Realm had to breathe and swallow so he was forcing her to do so.
At the very least, he needed her to absorb some of the elixir. Only a trace would be enough!
A fist slammed into his ribs but only the pain of being hit wracked his body. His bones held and his skin stayed unbroken. The gray orbs staring at him squinted but her strength was nearly on par with his!
She whipped her tail around his throat as her hands tried to remove his arm, but then it happened.
Lind imagined the shape he had always seen in the tribulations. The sinuous dragon that came to test his bloodline and his harmony took shape. The aura he produced was barely a tenth of what he summoned at the northern border of the Divine Sword Sect, but it was enough.
Cymera finally looked afraid!
She finally swallowed the elixir and Lind was then sent flying by a power no one could control. A low Heaven grade 5 elixir was the maximum the lower world would allow, but now it unlocked a power that should not exist.
Empress Resha had done a horrifying thing that was now revealed when the Sky Realm Qi ran wild in Cymera. Lind was gently caught by a palm of earth before it collapsed and Tal limped over to him.
She was completely exhausted but the deed was done. Lind felt tired as well but he did not look away from the tormented being that seemed to be choking as blood flowed once more from all visible orifices.
"Spirits forgive me." Lind never invoked the spirits before but it seemed appropriate now. The storm inside the demoness had only begun when Tessa screamed.
"The Chimeric Accords, that is the Chimeric Accords of my clan!" Lind did not look over to her as there was no need. He had known after fighting Cymera that something like her could not exist naturally, so there were only a handful of answers.
For a demon, the Chimeric Accords was the only answer. As Cymera Bloodsworn began to fall, Lind only hoped he had brought mercy and not a curse to the woman.
