Chapter 1729 - 1728 - Realm Collapse
Chapter 1729 - 1728 - Realm Collapse
Lind took 3 more centuries not only consolidating his new foundation but also making progress in deducing the final Mystery of his current tier.
He felt like the last one was usually the easiest when comparing to previous layers but that did not seem to be the case with the Qi layer.
It was further hampered by the fact the special realm he was using was insufficient to support him after his Mystery condensed. It was like he was a dry sponge and nowhere near satiated by all the water around him.
Still, some areas were resistant to him. He was investigating those areas.
One was nearby in the mountains and he flew over the peaks towards the source of resistance. He did not notice anything that stood out physically but his senses confirmed the area directly below him was holding tight onto Mystery energy.
There were 3 other locations like it yet they did not feel equal to him.
He shifted to his Eyes Talent and saw flows of power in a massive array! It was actually inscribed into the foundation of the realm! He dared not mess with that as long as he was inside it.
Still, he was able to trace the inscriptions and found what appeared to be a door. It was sealed since the realm was created from what he could tell, yet it was not locked permanently.
He casually grasped the group of mountains with his aura and the rocks shattered around them as he lifted the whole section up enmasse. It would have been a strange sight in the Divine Lands as only Master Tiers could do what he currently did.
Lind was certain the outside world was beyond his power in that respect still.
Exposed now was a massive structure covered in inscriptions. It actually glowed with a familiar aura. The old woman had definitely made the current space he was in. Did all Divine Lords have that power or only Master Tiers?
It was hard to say as he had only improved his previous Haven space creation for a portable work space and living area.
It was impressive in its own right but not much different from an artifact spatial treasure when it came down to it.
The Jade Palace of the Stars and this time inverted retreat were vastly different from even the trial realms he had faced in the past.
He wanted to test out such skills but he could instinctively tell he could not yet do it. There was no time for it either.
He set the floating mass in the air and wove a few supports into them to keep them in one piece and airborne.
He then flew down and went around the square building until he found the entrance he had felt before.
It was not a door. It was more like the energies inscribed in the arrays condensed solid energy to cover whatever was behind it. Lind saw he could go right through it with his current power.
The barrier was no impediment to him at all.
He stepped into a very dark but comfortable room. At the center of a it was a large pile of sand with several large dark eggs resting in it.
He smiled gently as he saw what they were.
"The future, eh?" Lind realized what the old woman had been guarding with the special realm. Long lived races in the Divine Lands did have one significant drawback at the beginning. It took massive amounts of energy and time for them to be born if they were not reproduced like mammals.
Humans and demons had similar gestation periods but cultivators at advanced realms could regulate when it would start once it was begun. In essence, a woman could be pregnant for centuries but not show a bump in all that time.
He gently scanned the eggs and confirmed they had a ways to go before they could hatch. The arrays were feeding energy to them but he had severely depleted the power in the realm.
He opened his Haven and carefully transplanted the whole nest. He also quickly made weavings to mimic at least enough of what the arrays were currently doing to keep the eggs nurtured. They were close enough that it was enough to finish their gestation.
He was reminded of Illyria when he first met her. It made him sad how it ended by his own foolishness too.
Maybe one day yet, they could reconcile.
He sighed but found nothing else in the room. He left and replaced the mountains. The other 3 areas were more rooms with other variations of races' eggs inside them. The Northern Continent was a pleasant place for the young and old races compatible with it but eggs needed very specific environments to nurture them.
The old woman clearly made the realm to help that as one room had dozens of flood dragon eggs, another had 7 dragon eggs, and the final one had ice matrixes suspended in some kind of special arrays.
They were far more complex but he understood what they were. Elementals were usually born of all the Qi in the world but the Divine Lands allowed for more diversified versions. The Northern Continent, obviously, specialized in ice.
He had seen the graves of Elementals, but he had never seen an incubation area. It was a very informative sight.
He was extremely careful transplanting that into his Haven. It was much harder to mimic the arrays but his deep experience with all 18 elements allowed him to adapt something close to the environment of the last chamber.
Once all 4 were empty, the resistance vanished. He had done nothing to alter the arrays, yet somehow they reacted as if he had shut them down.
There was nothing left in the realm as he scanned it deeply. It had only one use left to him.
He flew towards the entrance and then sat down right in front of it. He could not do what he was about to do from the outside.
He began to cultivate and pulled the remaining energies into his dantian. A storm flew across the small realm before an earthquake began to shake the surface.
The mountains collapsed into a chasm as the boundary was ripped open in the void. Seas boiled and forests were uprooted completely as everything flowed into Lind.
The very fabric of the realm broke down but Lind did not even bat an eye. He no longer feared the void nor anything made by Heaven and Earth.
The fabric of the special realm unraveled but it was not wasted. Lind fed it into his dantian and his power increased in correlation to what was consumed.
Energy surged and what was once a realm unto itself unraveled as Lind was tossed out back into the Divine Lands.
The tear into the realm rippled until a violent shockwave sent Lind flying across the icy surface. He was not hurt but the special realm collapsed entirely as he pulled the remaining energy from it.
The realm collapsed entirely until nothing was left. Lind absorbed all the energy and stayed in a lotus position until the shadow of his personal vessel covered his body.
He exhaled and looked up. He could see so much more with his new Mystery but the faint traces of the special realm still lingered.
The last traces were dispersed by his aura before he looked up and flew to the top deck of his ship. Qing and Karu awaited him there.
They confirmed that only a week had passed despite almost 5 centuries for his own perspective.
He had made good progress but now he had 1 Mystery left. The realm had not given him any definitive progress aside from pure energy.
He smiled at them as the ship headed southeast. He was going to greet the Bastard when he came out of his recovery.
The ship raced across the sky but Lind focused on his own foundation. He had consolidated long ago and now he was pondering the final Mystery.
They crossed the empty tundra and ice fields. He told them of his discoveries and his new Mystery.
Qing seemed to grasp some inspiration but Karu just stared at him as if he was a monster. He knew his speed was insane but honestly, he had to face the Bastard soon.
No matter what, he had to be ready for the Divine Lands version to buy time. Once the fools were dead, the universe should have time to recover/ improve without interference.
The crew put their all into running his vessel and it took months to cross the Northern Continent to the Eastern Continent.
Lind took that time to ponder the Divine Lands and his own perspective. The war was coming but currently it was his one sided victory.
The fleet he sent out devastated the Fiends across the Western Lament and the Southern Continent. Even when the harmonic reserves ran out, the various forces continued to slaughter the Fiends and their allies.
Lind smiled as the various battlefronts collapsed and were pushed back to lairs or other areas of power. Per his instructions, the forces he sent out purged each and every Fiend artifact and lair.
The next step was the Bastard himself but Lind need to focus on his final Mystery. He needed to grasp it before they reached the LIne.
