Chapter 1450 - 1449 - Elegance Given Form
Chapter 1450 - 1449 - Elegance Given Form
"They are not bad. They should take the last step in the 6th Circle before grasping Immortal Grade weavings." Gran side eyed his sister as Brielle looked on as their siblings began to engrave.
None of them could match the insane speed of their Father who could use his hair in either form to engrave as well.
What took them days, he could accomplish in moments.
Yet, his golden eyes narrowed as he saw the fine sigils blaze to life as traces connected them in complex layers. Even though the wards should prevent anyone from seeing that much detail, all the siblings could.
Their bloodline, even impure as they were, made them mostly able to ignore the effects of their Father's wards on the senses. It was especially true for soul related aspects.
No one knew why they were all able to be weavers and neither of the other professions, it remained true that their vision included the ability to dissect weavings with ease.
Their Father had also trained them on other weavers he invited from the Frey Clan so they had been exposed to a variety of experts.
That experience had resonated with some of them more strongly than others but none of them were considered any less than the best of their cultivation realm.
The tournament only confirmed their assertion as they understood that while weaving was more acceptable in the Celestial Fields, it was severely limited due to the many lost experts or those that turned to the short cuts and burned all bridges behind them.
So much knowledge was being rediscovered over and over again and lagged behind the other production fields.
Their Father had explosively not only improved the field but had broadened its foundation far beyond anyone in recorded history thanks to the rise of the Frey Clan he founded.
The 6 elementals were superior to many in that field due to their harmonies empowering their soul from the Soul Realm itself!
Gran found many contemporaries very poor despite the pride they had in their skills. He had quashed the elimination rounds with his siblings. They had been a crushing force no one had seen coming.
"It is expected, Sister. They are just slower than us." Brielle glanced at him but even he felt a chill in his soul at her smile. It was like she saw right through him.
Of them all, she was the most accomplished weaver. She had yet to struggle with her circle restrictions at any level. Even he, a close second to her skill, had struggled mightily with progressing to the Immortal Grade for weaving.
She simply spent a single night taking the step that took him a year.
"I apologize." Her smile became warmer and reached up to her amethyst eyes.
They turned back to see Vivian was looking almost mechanical in how she was able to progress from sigil to trace connection. It was steady and showed she had a full grasp of the whole process.
Her fingers were steady without wasting any soul power or elemental Qi.
Gran turned to Samuel and frowned. His brother was not bad but he had his eyes closed again! Why did he always do that?!
Brielle actually leaned forward in excitement.
"Go, go, go! That is the way!" He was confused at her cheering. He turned his attention to the glowing fingers and froze.
Rather than the chaotic and collapsing structures he expected, instead it was like Samuel's fingers were dancing! The fingers of a truly committed weaver were always dexterous, but Gran was left entranced watching his brother.
Samuel seemed unaware of his current efforts as his eyes were firmly shut but his arms moved with an elegance that made his weaving speed not only increase but become far more profound.
"What is happening to him?" He asked aloud unintentionally but his sister gave him an answer he did not understand.
"He is hearing the song at last!" Her body was bouncing in joy but Gran did not understand.
What song?

Samuel had been so nervous to start. They were making a summoning weaving that would conjure a beast to attack, defend, and carry off the owner of the weaving plate. It was actually a legend to have all 3 functions, but independently they did exist.
It made for an interesting final as he had made an attack and defense weaving before, but a conjuring version was a new twist.
The plates were Immortal Grade so he could infused any quality of grade 6 on it without a worry.
He saw the usual methodical approach of Vivian and felt the eyes of his other 2 siblings boring into him but he looked up to see the family suite.
He could not see them but his memory suddenly flashed as all his mothers and Father were there for his journey. He took a breath and a smile spread as he closed his eyes to focus on that feeling.
{Sometimes, you just need to remember the path you have walked before taking the next step, Sammy.}
His Father's words from centuries ago resurfaced and he did just that. It was many centuries of work but only an instant of memory for the world.
Still, Samuel suddenly felt something click into place. He could not find words but he felt a shift in his once restrictive 6th circle.
It was not dramatically changed but he suddenly felt like he was on a dance floor. The requirements of the weaving filled his head yet the once insurmountable issues seemed to resonate in his mind.
His arms moved as his fingers lit up but he never opened his eyes. He saw it all in his head. Rather than seeing the sigils and traces he had to arrange while he created them, he saw the end result.
It was a massive sinuous form that looked down at him warmly. His heart seemed to pulse with the harmony flaring in his dantian. His Sky Core was thrumming with power yet he felt light as air as he worked.
The point was not to force 3 weavings under a summoning one, but to create what he could imagine. The 4 became one!
Sweat broke out but he barely seemed aware of it. He felt no exhaustion nor difficulty as the image in his mind solidified.
The scales would act as shields or a firm seat as the cultivator had to escape. The teeth, claws, and breath would attack. The flexible body would allow adaptation to many situations.
His harmony strained suddenly as his eyes snapped open. He found himself surrounded by a complex weaving unlike anything he had ever attempted but his eyes quickly discerned he was at the final step.
He had to connect the massive storm of soul power and elemental Qi to the weaving plate. The crystal powder shimmered as his glowing fingers slowly moved to join with the traces reaching from the bottom of his weaving.
Sweat was pouring down his brow and back side. It was the moment of success or failure as the traces suddenly glowed to his eyes. He had never seen such a thing before but his fingers moved of their own volition when it happened.
He thought he was about to fail until that moment. The traces sunk into the metal plate before it lit up like the sun!
He held his hand up as the massive weaving shrunk into the metal until it shimmered with sigils.
The roar of the crowd suddenly came back to him as the proctor activated the weaving. A massive dragon appeared that quickly responded to the various commands.
Fire flew out that he realized was almost Immortal Grade! The claws easily carved up some targets set up on the platform. Another proctor attacked and the dragon swirled around while its scales lit up with emerald light.
Samuel nearly fell as exhaustion washed over him but he was smiling ear to ear as Vivian was not even halfway done. How much time had passed?
It was daylight but he could have been standing there for days without knowing.
"Contender Samuel has passed. We will await Contender Vivian completing her weaving before a final judgment is given." Speed was not the goal, but the quality of his effects. The proctor, a male Harmonic Dragon, did help him up with a smile.
"Personally, Samuel Frey, your creation is superb. It is just shy of Immortal Grade." Joy filled him but he glanced over and was stunned to find Brielle running right at him! Gran was slowly following behind but he had no time to register more as he was slammed into the ground by his sister.
"That was so good! You heard the song!" Her words cleared his mind as he suddenly realized he was hearing some kind of melody. His heartbeat, the resonance with his soul, and even the elemental Qi.
He was nearly lost to it again as a large hand snapped him back to the present.
"Well done." Gran said nothing else but it may as well have been a slap on the back from him! Samuel felt his smile stretch from ear to ear as he waited to see what Vivian came up with but a sudden voice made him lose his smile.
"I concede." Vivian was looking exhausted but her weaving was dispersing safely. She was looking at his creation with approval and curiosity. "I can never top that."
The proctors nodded and turned to him.
"Samuel Frey is the Champion!" The crowd roared as he was pulled back to his feet and he felt surreal. It was over! He was the first Champion for weaving of the entire tournament!
[Prepare the Immortal Grade championship!] A voice boomed but his siblings walked him off as they celebrated. He had to recover but he looked forward to see how the next pair would do!
