Chapter 1451 - 1450 - Laws Under Heaven
Chapter 1451 - 1450 - Laws Under Heaven
Lind was amazed at the progress of his children. Few could hear what was said in the arena after Samuel completed his creation but he caught every word.
The song Brielle referred to was beyond Immortal Grade! It was actually touching on the fundamental resonance between Laws and the soul!
A smile spread as pride flew in his heart. His wives smirked at him as he was acting like a doting father at the moment but he did not care!
He had taught them the basics and guided them on their journeys but the last few centuries had been all up to them. He could not force them to follow his path as it would not help them.
They had differentiated after that as they had to find their own way but to see such an explosive growth was insane! He could not be more proud of them. His other generations of children were monsters in their own right but the progress of the current batch was on another level!
He knew part of it was more than just being taught by him but by sharing his 6 elemental status just like the Harmonic Dragons. Unlike them, their mothers' side gave them access to the professions beasts struggled to grasp until long after the Heaven Realm.
Once they became Immortals, he was truly wondering if they would surpass him before even leaving the Sliver Tier!
"This should be interesting. Gran is not as advanced as little Bri but she is closest to Lind in technique." Lind frowned at Shoti's words. She was not wrong that Brielle was the closest but she was wrong about Gran.
Gran was on the same level as his sister. The only difference was that he was focused on another aspect of weaving the others were not.
The power of his soul.
It was a dangerous but necessary aspect all weavers had to grasp, yet Gran seemed focused more than any others including himself.
Gran seemed to think he could cultivate his soul further before becoming an Immortal. He did not seek the resonance of Laws and his soul, but the soul itself.
He wondered if his son could find something new that he had missed at that stage.

Brielle was humming and clearly still happy about Samuel's success but Gran pushed it all aside. He was looking at the current challenge for the Immortal Grade championship.
{Immortal Grade Championship Challenge:}
{Engrave Laws into sigils to achieve the following effects:}
{1. Fold Space}
{2. Healing Effects to restore limbs for Moon Tier and below (Sun Tier rated higher)}
{3. Self Sustaining Effect}
{4. It must endure 3 uses on a peak Moon Tier cultivator}
Gran frowned and even he could see Brielle matched his face. While Laws were barely grasped by either of them to reach the Immortal Grade, the current project was daunting.
He had seen such weavings made not only by his Father but other cultivators. They were all Immortals, however. At least in the Shard Tier as well.
Why were they being pushed so hard for the championship? It made no sense but it could not be argued they were being spoiled either.
Samuel and Vivian had to make a conjuring that damned few grade 6 experts could even attempt let alone succeed!
He saw his sister's fingers light up as her hair also slightly joined them. She could not engrave with her hair but it did seem like she was getting closer each day to such a feat.
He closed his golden eyes and sunk his senses into himself. He moved past his Sky Core to the very heart of it.
The shimmering heart of his dantian held his harmony. Like all 6 elementals, it was fused to his soul and thus the heart of his weaving.
While all harmonies started as flames, he had been curious in the World Realm when it changed. It fused with each tier result to become sand, stone, iron, gold, and diamond. It had not been a flame until he used it in his Arts or techniques.
Once he knew he was a weaver, Gran had wondered why his harmony had to be a flame at all and thus began his intense study of his soul.
So when he finally beheld his harmony once more, it was not flickering at all. It was not a dragon either but simply the shape he had first grasped when he became a weaver.
It was a sigil that all weavers had to learn to even begin. It was the sigil for "Soul" that started almost all weavings.
Gran had chosen it and it had taken decades before it held that shape. Once it did, he had progressed explosively for a time but now he knew he was at a bottleneck. He was somewhat jealous of Samual for having grasped the 'song' Brielle kept going on about.
He had never heard such a thing nor felt it.
Instead, he had focused completely on improving his control of his soul and it had served him but he knew in the current project, it was not enough.
He had to change it and it was a dangerous thought. It was a given that the soul was delicate and below the Heaven Realm, tied to the body. However, tampering with it at all would destroy even Immortals.
Still, Gran swirled his senses around it and a thousand thoughts were considered before being discarded.
The shape before him was more of a focusing metaphor than a literal sigil. Changing its shape was feasible but would not help him. It would just be changing the shape as he had before.
He was about to simply commit to his attempt when he felt a thought take root. He examined his harmony once more but now he was looking for something else. His Father's harmony and others were proof that they grew beyond the realm their owner was in.
His Father's emerald harmony was now a Dao but the sigil in front of Gran was squarely in the Heaven Realm. It was not a Law.
Had he held it back? Was his experiment in changing the shape restricting it in some way.
He wondered what would happen if he let go of his stranglehold on his harmony. The golden sigil flared before changing shape. It did not return to flames but became a different sigil! He was amazed but then his head nearly split in half!
His meridians began to burn as something flowed outward from his dantian. His 6th Circle was already an Immortal Circle but he felt like it was fake now.
His golden harmony flared and his circle transformed as he realized it had not been restricted but tempered! He had tempered his harmony to explode forth with the full power of Laws before he became an Immortal!
Gran snapped open his eyes to find he was on all fours and covered in sweat. Blood and some impurities were on the stone in front of him as a judge was standing by. He waved them off and slowly stood up.
Brielle had actually stopped and looked concerned before nodding slowly at him to return to her work. Her weaving was half done!
How long had he been examining his harmony?!
He dismissed the desire to know as he looked at his requirements once more. It was still difficult but he actually noticed a few changes in his perception. He felt like he grasped something.
His fingers and toes lit up before he began to move through his combat stances. His speed was unreal as he felt concepts flow through his mind unfettered. He still did not hear the song but he felt the power of his soul was far beyond what it had once been.
It was like he had a lake of soul power before but now had an ocean! He felt no danger as his soul flowed like a river through his meridians. He felt almost giddy until a new pressure slammed into him.
Laws! His harmony was calling on far more powerful Laws that were far above his current experience. Pain finally lanced through his mind but he only slowed his work.
He had not caught up but he had completed 2 of the aspects. Space had been folded and a self sustaining function had been completed. Despite what others may feel, bending space was actually quite easy for him and his siblings.
No one quite knew why but their Father did not seem surprised.
Gran actually knew the issue then. Healing. He was abysmal at healing in all regards. Aside from the benefits of his bloodline, he had never been good at making a weaving solely to aid healing.
It was highly inefficient to do it by weaving anyway but enhancing pills or elixirs was possible. Yet, that was not the goal.
The championship wanted a weaving that could heal all on its own.
It only specified that limbs could be restored but there were myriad ways to achieve that. Invigorate powerful bloodlines, resonate with elemental Sky Core power, or cellular guidance to restore the original state of a cultivator.
The first 2 were subjective to all cultivators. No one was exactly the same but Gran felt like the last option was limited as well. It was feasible but relied on enough flesh available to restore lost limbs.
If someone came in with all 4 major limbs missing, there was no way to restore all their limbs like that. The body had limits.
Gran then felt an idea slam into his mind as exhaustion was starting to weigh him down. His harmony! The soul! He had delved into the soul more than most and he wondered if he could heal a body by resonating with the soul!
His fingers swiftly made sigils and connected them to the layers already floating ahead of him. The traces were connecting but he felt like he was finally bottoming out.
His sigils already glowed but now they changed. The audience could not fully tell but the judge actually went wide eyed as the power of Laws flowed into the weavings he was observing.
Gran was shaking as he made the final trace connection and air swirled around him as space folded as desired.
A small bubble had been made that glowed with a gentle light. Qi was being drawn in drastically at first until it finally stabilized.
Gran collapsed as he saw 3 individuals led forward with healers. They were a human, demon, and even an aether child. The human was missing a hand, the demon a leg, and the aether child had an arm and leg missing.
He saw Brielle was collapsed but awake as hers was tested as well. He could only hope he had been right.
The human was first and instantly had his hand restored. They cried in joy as they were only a World Realm so it was expensive to get a pill or an elixir to help them. The demon was a Sky Realm and their leg was restored just as quickly.
Gran was worried as the aether child was a Sun Tier. Unlike the first 2, it took some time before changes appeared. His weaving strained but eventually even the aether child was restored!
Further, his weaving was still going! It was still stable!
The sound of a thunder clap came from behind him and he saw his sister had also succeeded but hers had collapsed.
The judges spoke for a moment before a Sliver Tier Immortal was brought out. They were a beast but he was unsure of which kind. They were crippled in all their humanoid limbs. The beast was let in and his weaving was now near a breaking point but even Gran was shocked as it worked!
His weaving healed them! They walked out with tears and bowed low to him as his weaving finally collapsed.
[WINNER: GRAN FREY!]
