Chapter 1448 - 1447 - Suppresion of Tribulations

Chapter 1448 - 1447 - Suppresion of Tribulations

Lind downed an elixir as he sat in his office. Of all the scenarios he had envisioned, he had not thought 2 Heaven Realms would be ready to take the next step in the finals.

While breaking through in the middle of battle was not unheard of, the chances of 2 individuals both reaching that step were very remote.

Any chance the Immortals would not understand what that meant was very remote. Dismissing the tribulations had not been necessary since Sliver Tier tribulations were easily contained by his current wards.

Even so, 2 at once would have been insane at that distance. There was no chance either would have survived. It was part of why Heaven did not consume as much of his vitality when he used his Authority.

It still cost him but it also revealed a problem he had not anticipated. If multiple Immortals triggered tribulations, he would not be able to stop them all. He could remove the suppression the Throne of Defiance put on outsiders but it would require a pause to the events.

Even as he sat there, battles were ongoing save in the Heaven Realm section.

A pause had been called and no one argued as the events of the finals left the championship up in the air. The 3rd place bout was still set to go as neither contender was even close to the peak of the Sun Tier.

Lind was focusing on his recovery when a smile crossed his face. Several women appeared with concern, curiosity, and other emotions across the spectrum as they appeared.

Chu, for instance, was looking amorous but he ignored her.

"What was that?" Annabelle was the first to speak but he did not even get a chance to answer as the others spoke all at once. He easily parsed their words but let them talk until they all realized they were trying to ask for too much at once.

Lind smiled as they all paused and then glared at him as he was clearly amused.

Still, his exhaustion showed through and they realized what it had cost him to disperse those tribulations.

"What was going on? Why did 2 of them happen at once?" Ethry asked the most pertinent questions but he did not have simple answers.

He looked around the room and waved his hand to pull a large jade slip towards him. He quickly scanned it and nodded before putting it on his desk. The dark wood made the shimmering pale green stone stand out.

"You should recall the primary effect of the Throne of Defiance is to sever any threads of fate. A side effect of that is the inability to advance due to the simple cause of dantians being laced with such threads due to all the choices a cultivator made unless they too sever fate." They all nodded but he then pointed at the jade slip.

Their auras washed over it but it was just the breakdown of the many weavings and Forging effects Lind made to allow the arena to let their visitors benefit from being inside the Throne lands but not get stuck at a bottleneck.

It was not a small effort as essentially it required Lind to allow the threads inside the cultivator to connect to the Heavens.

It was supposed to be much more difficult to achieve but 2 Heaven Realms, admittedly at the peak of the Sun Tier, had pulled it off simultaneously!

Even given the heat of the battle, it should not have been possible.

"So is something not working correctly?" Lind looked chagrined at Shoti. She already seemed to know as she smiled at him.

"On the contrary, it is working perfectly. Too well in fact! Immortals, thankfully, are much harder to advance but I suspect the Sliver Tiers will also have similar issues for not just the battle but production brackets." His words made all them look grim.

Lind was exhausted suppressing just 2 Heaven Realm Ascension Tribulations. What would happen if 5 or 6 Shard Tier or Crystal Tier tribulations were triggered at once?!

The arena could not withstand that!

Even assuming it could curb Sovereign Tiers, tribulations were not to be tamed! Even True Lords paid a steep price to enforce their will on them as evidenced by Lind himself!

"Can you do anything?" Qing and Annabelle echoed each other but he smiled at them.

"Yes and no. I can take some actions to suppress them with a few edicts with my Authority but there are limits. I should be fine with avoiding multiple tribulations at the same time but I am unsure how far I can push that." They nodded but then frowned. Didn't that mean the higher Immortal Tiers would still occur?!

"Nothing else?" Chu was now the one looking grim at last. It seemed she grasped the danger of what they were all facing.

He sighed as there was one more thing he could do but he was loathe to do it.

It required him to cancel out part of his weavings without affecting the rest. He could do it but it would exhaust him for a month! He would be unable to weave or do much else during that time!

He would forfeit if he did that!

[Master, I may have a solution.] Haro suddenly spoke up before appearing in the room. The ring spirit was far more imposing as time passed in the Throne of Defiance. It was like the last seals on his power were fading more each day than should have been possible in the Celestial Fields.

His aura flared and all of them flinched until a presence registered in Lind's senses. Things seemed to slow down until a flickering of light appeared near Haro. He looked pale but smiled as a figure stepped through.

Lind felt his head nearly split open just glancing at them so he quickly closed his eyes but a voice came next that did not help at all!

[Little Haro, it has been a long time. I worried you had faded like others. I am pleased you are alive.] It was a woman's voice, he thought, but Lind was trying to hold on to his consciousness.

As if noticing him for the first time, the being's aura slammed into him but his harmony finally flared up to protect him. The power was that dangerous!

[Interesting True Lord you are bound to this time. He has been to the Spirit World?] Haro suddenly felt closer and the pressure lessened.

"Apologies, Master, I had not anticipated you being able to stand outside of Time." Lind felt the blood thunder in his heart and body at the last word. It was not just Laws or Dao but something else!

[Forgive me, tiny True Lord. Beings such as you are rare. We cannot waste moments here, either. Little Haro, explain your request.] Haro quickly sent some kind of transmission that made Lind's senses recoil from even detecting it.

He had thought his exposure to Divine Realm beings would mitigate future encounters but he now realized he had only scratched the surface!

Just what kind of being was that woman?!

[Hmm, I see. Interesting. No wonder this place feels odd to me. Truly, a remarkable master you have found.] Lind felt blood flow down his nose, ears, and eyes. He could not take much more!

"Is my request feasible?" Haro seemed aware of his condition and was speeding along the conversation.

Silence followed but Lind actually preferred it! It gave his body time to recover! As if to mock his relief, her voice thundered in his mind once more.

[It is done. The spirits will restrain the tribulations but if the cultivators reach the threshold, you understand what that will mean when they leave?] Haro quickly agreed and the presence began to fade.

Lind felt the danger recede but then he realized a razor sharp focus was on him. He felt like he was left naked under the desert sun. There was nothing he was able to hide from the feeling!

[True Lord Lind Frey, you walk a dangerous path but you may be the last hope. The Traitor nearly destroyed all the realms once. The spirits saved them at great cost but innocence died with it. You may yet get your wish but know the price will be exceedingly high.]

Her words nearly sent him into blackness but then time resumbed. Lind was covered in crimson blood and collapsed on the floor. His wives reacted in fear but Haro held them back as he produced one of the elixirs from the ring.

Lind felt blessed relief flow through his body and soul. His dantian had creaked but not cracked. Just barely.

"H–h–haro, what was that?!" He asked the question but the ring spirit glanced at his wives. He understood and tapped his forehead.

[One of my creators. Do you understand, Master?] Shock flooded him. The ring on his right hand was more advanced than any artifact he had yet encountered. He thought he understood it but new facets were revealed as Haro recovered.

It was more than a simple storage ring as he came to learn.

Lind went to get up when he froze. His arm with Ember embedded in it was healed! It was not just that, his entire body felt stronger! What the hell?!

He looked up at Haro but he shook his head. He could not explain but Lind confirmed his cultivation had not advanced at all, so what just happened?

His memory failed him as he had been too desperate to protect his soul and mind. The body was left to fend for itself which seemed to have been of a massive benefit!

He confirmed both the artifacts fused with him remained mostly unchanged from what they should. So the benefit was strictly his own body.

The power now flowing in his limbs felt like he could take on peak Sovereign Tiers without a problem! He would need to see who he was facing next but he doubted it would be as close as his first elimination round.

Lind continued his recovery and wondered exactly what Haro's request had been but the spirit had slipped back to the ring. His silence spoke volumes. Whatever it was, it was not time for him to understand yet.
