Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1447 - 1446 - Shatter the Heavens

Chapter 1447 - 1446 - Shatter the Heavens

Cyntilla sipped at her tea as she watched from the host suites of the arena. She was only there with Lysanna and Qing but she would not miss the finals of the Heaven Realm at all.

Not least because no one had yet noticed something Lind had kept under wraps.

"It looks like you won the bet, Sister." Qing summoned a stack of peak Immortal Qi stones that Lysanna happily took. Cyntilla was not idiotic enough to bet against the instincts of that woman ever!

She had lost enough back when they were in the World Realm!

"We have gotten a year in and none are the wiser as I expected. Lind made the arena a place they could explosively progress and actually breakthrough but no one has. Even the contestants' results have not been enough for them." Lysanna had her hand to her cheek in mocking form as she smiled wide at Qing.

The blonde stared at her but could not refute she had lost.

"Well, the Convocation had explicitly denied the representatives so they assume the same rules apply. Also, they are more focused on the contests." Cyntilla gave her opinion and Lysanna nodded sagely.

"Exactly! Greed has blinded them and our dear Sister!" Cyntilla was about to toss her empty jade cup at Lysanna but then saw the deep blush on Qing. It was adorable!

They were about to devolve into either a new round of teasing or an actual fight but the crystal display flashed to bring their attention.

The final battle rounds for the Heaven Realm bracket were starting. After the current set, the champion would be decided in the championship round!

Cyntilla sat up as she was intrigued by the current pair her display showed.

A rail thin demon with very pale lavender skin and extremely long black hair stood across from a woman veiled enough to hide her features.

A massive round hat of dark lace floated impossibly high where gravity should have it drooping down on her shoulders. Her lavender skin was much darker but they both wore black robes that hid the rest of their features.

Still, the demoness was clearly of much healthier body proportions. Words could not be heard via the display unless she selected it but neither opponent spoke as the judge explained the rules.

Once their hands dropped, she watched carefully. The rail thin demon was Atrioss. The Broken Soul Sect was believed to be named for its brutal techniques that would break the hardiest person, but she knew better.

She had watched the elimination and preliminary rounds so had noted many promising seeds to keep an eye on. Some had been sadly crippled but she knew Lind might be able to help them.

So long as they were not dead nor had used up their potential, they could be restored to an extent.

Atrioss seemed to become even thinner as he moved. His limbs and even his robes faded from the physical world. Some would attribute that to speed or maybe an illusion but Cyntilla knew better.

His body never moved at all!

It was the secret Soul Strike Art of his sect. They had actually learned from weavers how to weaponize, safely, the soul essence itself.

It looked like his body but it had no physical existence! Worse, it bypassed a lot of defensive artifacts and Arts like they did not exist.

The demoness hidden by veil and robes did not seem to react in time but Cyntilla smiled wide as a dark gray dome appeared around the woman. The partially out of phase Atrioss instantly dodged.

It was a wise move.

She activated the audio option as she wanted to hear them talk as they likely would.

Atrioss seemed to appear where he started but his slim form was now guarded.

[What was that? It felt like you know my Art?] His voice was barely there but Cyntilla was shocked at his words. Protecting against any kind of Soul Art was possible, harmonies were a clear example but creating a specific counter to a particular Art was not so easy.

It required not just learning an Art but mastering it to the point that no secrets remained to be discovered.

The Enchantress said nothing as a staff with a tri-split top appeared. It held demonic crystals in a ball inside that split. A simple staff for conjuring but Atrioss had moved on. While they were hard for Heaven Realms to see, the arena could make out flying daggers flowing from his sleeves.

The blades did not seem to exist like his previous attack but she was unfamiliar with how they worked. Was it a material or refined effect?

Another dome appeared around the demoness and Cyntilla was shocked as rather than bouncing or stopping, the blades actually turned to powder!

That was impossible! A barrier should not dissolve weapons unless it was made from acid or other corrosive properties but even she could tell it did not have any of that!

"Lys, is she doing what I think she is doing?" Qing's voice suddenly snapped Cyntilla out of her focus and she saw they were watching the other fight.

Ava was green and gold for her skin and hair but she was wielding fire as if she was born to it. It danced on her fingers like a sprite given life!

Her opponent was a lithe human man that was able to bend his body in ways that should have snapped his bones. Cyntilla narrowed her virulent yellow eyes as she recognized a variation from Atrioss' Art there.

It was cruder but no less effective to manipulate the physical body by directly using the power of the soul!

There were 2 Heaven Realm cultivators using powers far beyond their foundation!

A sect devoted to it was understandable but the human was a rogue! How had he stumbled upon such techniques or Arts?!

Still, she grasped what they were focused on. The quality of the fire in Ava's hands changed.

The crimson, orange, and yellow shifted to more ethereal colors. It was not different elements, it was pushing beyond the limits of the Heaven Realm!

"Soul fire?!" Cyntilla exclaimed out loud but she was echoed by Lysanna as well. Both turned in shock while Qing simply kept rapt attention to the fight.

The pair swiftly returned their attention to their respective fights. Cyntilla was in time to see Atrioss flung back by a ghostly shape of the Enchantress! The demoness herself was still in place but a phantasm was now stomping on the rail thin demon!

Projection?! How?! It was another ability that was only supposed to be possible in the Immortal Realm! She suddenly narrowed her eyes as she called up functions no other VIP suite had.

Graphs and readings popped up on the 2 cultivators and what she saw made her realize what was happening.

"Check their foundations, now!" Her words made them also alter their own viewer. The instant they saw what was happening all 3 looked up at the clear skies above.

It was only a matter of time but they would soon get confirmation. Fighting on the edge of life and death when at the peak of a cultivation realm could be the impetus to bring down the final wall.

Sure enough, black clouds began to gather but the weavings over the Heaven Realm battles reacted. Powerful emerald light flared and the clouds seemed to calm down. Only other Immortals sensed what was happening but were confused.

Cyntilla turned back to the fight and saw it was not paused at all. They did not feel what was coming?

It was a much weaker tribulation even compared to latter ones, but Lind could block them so easily?

She had no idea it was even possible but it was also likely that the Throne of Defiance was part of the reason too. It was an odd space that they enjoyed but it actively blocked the majority of others.

She saw clear signs that the Enchantress was able to use more Immortal level ability while still at the Heaven Realm. Her opponent was not doing too badly despite that.

Indeed, Atrioss had switched from an aggressive approach to delaying. If he had any idea his foe was nearly an Immortal, he showed no sign of it. Cyntilla even saw him correctly work out what the Enchantress was doing.

She was taking the Qi he sent out and incorporating it into her own skills! Her title was well earned as she could shift existing artifacts or Arts with the right elemental alignment to neutralize her foe!

Cyntilla appreciated such skill in the heat of battle but she frowned as the weavings around the battle were shifting to emerald! Time was running out!

[Sleep.] The Enchantress finally spoke but the effect was stunning! Atrioss slumped where he stood! He was perfectly fine but clearly asleep! The demoness showed clear signs of exhaustion at last and Cyntilla finally understood the shifting elements and final attack were very straining for her.

Only then, did she look up and quickly assume a lotus position. The judge was about to call the victory when they finally noticed the shift in the wards. The crowd too finally looked up and saw all too familiar clouds gathering but Cyntilla felt a chill go down her spine.

The clouds were now boiling only over the completed fight, the other was still not done! She was about to move when Lind appeared above the wards. He was looking up at the clouds and then down at the Enchantress.

[Do you wish to proceed?] His voice boomed in all the minds present but the demoness shook her head. He nodded and then he transformed into his full dragon body. The massive size made silence descend as he looked up and then a strange hum filled the air.

His 3 horns lit up for each elemental set before a large orb of harmonic Qi formed. The pressure from it, even inside all the protections of their suite, the 3 women blanched.

[BEGONE!] The black clouds dispersed! He dismissed it! He then left with no further explanation but Cyntilla glanced over at her Sisters' display to see Ava had won just barely. In that state, both women would have died to their tribulations!

The judges called the victory and a delay for the championship for obvious reasons. The 3 women quickly asked for their husband's location and tore through space for an explanation. What had just happened?!
