Chapter 1446 - 1445 - Heaven Realm Finals
Chapter 1446 - 1445 - Heaven Realm Finals
A year had passed since the tournament began. Some had wondered if the excitement could be maintained or if there would be large swathes of nothing.
Yet, the fast pace of the Heaven Realms helped to fill in the time between elimination rounds for the higher realm beings.
It had taken 6 months just to finish the grade 7 and Law Grade production elimination rounds. While the start and end was fairly interesting, only those fellow experts enjoyed the entirety of watching them go at it.
Some had watched Lind Frey from start to finish but they did not grasp the importance of his results in 2 of the 3 he participated in. Compared to his combat with a fellow 6 elemental, only about a third of the audience enjoyed those 3 rounds.
The combat was also taking some time to grasp how it worked. Immortals could be both extremely fast to extremely resilient. The former was difficult to follow for lower realm beings or unskilled ones, so the stadium seating was armed with local displays.
The sections shared one and it engaged automatically if observing a high speed fight. It allowed them to see the blow by blow but few noticed that time was altered during those fights.
The reason being that the audience would not finish watching the fight at the same time it ended otherwise. So rather than the display altering their perception, they were allowed to briefly move at the same speed!
The latter kind, however, could become a slug fest that took too damn long. Sovereign Tiers were very powerful beings and hurting them was not only not easy but they could recover at remarkable speeds.
Most fell into that category as being able to outlast a foe could lead to more victory than just being faster.
Those too could have been boring but thankfully more than one fight was going on!
When it was clear the fight was fairly even, it would be minimized as a more exciting fight would fill the screens.
Thus the audience was barely aware of the passage of time until some realized it when the Heaven Realm finals rolled around.
Many rushed to place bets as while some had made a bit of resources before, now the odds had shot up!
The final 4 were from across the layer!
{Heaven Realm Battle Finalists:}
{Peak Sun Tier: Demon Atrioss of Broken Soul Sect}
{High Sun Tier: Enchantress of Shadow Falls Coven}
{Peak Sun Tier: Aether Child Ava of Shimmer Glade Empire}
{Low Sun Tier: Soul Dancer - Rogue Cultivator}
The first 3 were relatively well known even just at Heaven Realm. The Broken Soul Sect was a massive demonic sect that thrived on battle. They were not bloodthirsty but once engaged in combat, they did not stop until their enemy ceased to exist.
The Shadow Falls Coven was a group of conjurors. They did not follow the usual pattern of sects as they had no sect master, elders, etc, but were considered one of the best high level powers for protection or offensive cultivators to hire.
The Shimmer Glade Empire was something that made a few frown. Anyone that knew them knew they liked to project themselves as a righteous power but the current contender was one of their many slaves.
They were a human supremacy empire and had so many enemies it was a miracle they survived but revealed that sheer numbers could endure. It also did not help that they had demonstrated the ability to sacrifice their slaves enmasse if pushed into a corner.
The tournament was hosted by dragons so they disdained it but the rewards still enticed them. Death was also possible so they simply took their slave gladiators and sent the best.
There was no rule preventing such a method as they were far from the only slave owning power. Further, a condition was in place that if a slave did win their particular bracket, they would be freed.
Thus the slaves were highly motivated to fight! The condition was actually proposed by the Empire and was swiftly approved over the objection of Lind Frey. No one knew why he objected until the tournament actually went forward.
Many slaves had participated and forced themselves so hard they mostly all ended up crippled.
The distaste some felt made them wonder if their leaders would re-evaluate that condition for the next tournament.
The final person was from the Under Lands! There was little known about them but the shocking fact they had made it to the final 4 was shocking at the low Sun Tier alone.
They were able to fight far above their listed realm. A low to high Sun Tier may not seem massive to an Immortal but it was still a chasm of power not easily bridged. The other oddity was no one was quite sure how they won.
Their fights were normal enough with a sword as their weapon but the injuries their foes took were not that bad before they quit. The opponents recovered but no one spoke of how they lost.
It was weird.
Compared to the potential excitement of the battle finals, the production finals were wrapping up directly.
{Alchemy Finals:}
{Grade 6:}
{Gareth Vain of Bluefire Guild}
{Sara Nureth of Silver Fox Sect}
{Immortal Grade:}
{Fire Whisper of Resurrection Guild}
{Vile Fang of Lost Flame Sect}
{Elixir Master Finals…
The various production finals were just duels at that point. While some were known, most were just promising seeds found during the course of the tournament.
While some were interested, the only one that really drew their eyes was the weaving set.
{Weaving Finals:}
{6th Circle:}
{High Sun Tier: Samuel Frey}
{High Sun Tier: Vivian Frey}
{Immortal Circle:}
{High Sun Tier: Gran Frey}
{High Sun Tier: Brielle Frey}
They had not seen it coming at all but 4 dragons that were not harmonic smashed through the weaving bracket like they were not even there. There had also been others with the same last name, also dragons, that had just barely not beaten those 4.
They were his children!
They were all weavers! How?! While it was possible to have a dynasty of such that one or two children inherit skills of the parent, not all of them were possible! Yet, here each and every child with scales on their skin in places to show they had dragon blood in them.
Many assumed they were dragons but it would be more correct to say they were dragonewts. They had to refine their bloodlines to actually become dragons.
Still, no one had heard a whisper that he had raised a whole generation of weavers!
He had also done it with beings that had lifespans far beyond most normal humanoids.
The dragon bloodline added thousands of years to a mortal life let alone a cultivator!
They were all about equal inside their respective grades. It had been down to the wire with each of them to be declared a victor.
Now, they were going to be the final in the weaving entirely! The betting pool was harsh as it was difficult to gauge which might be better. Brother vs sister in both cases did nothing as weaving relied solely on the soul.
Still, the audience was actually razor focused on those 2 bouts due to the fact that unlike other weavers, the sigils they created were colored differently! Even with their harmonies, again all of them had those too, which were previously restricted, that had held true.
Normally, sigils were blue or pale violet if they were a demon but theirs had been golden just like their father with a slight variation in the tinge.
No one knew what that meant but after the elimination rounds, they were allowed full use of their power and it had been crushing defeats for their foes until they met each other. It was clear that those stuck at the 6th circle were soon to advance.
Just how terrifying were these children going to be!
It was also clear they were holding back their cultivation as the power they demonstrated was far above even Immortals!
The audience in general was excited to see the results as the clash of the Frey kids weavings far more energetic than others.
In the VIP lounges were vastly different reactions. The various sects and other leaders of powers across the 4th layer realized how terrifying the Throne of Defiance was going to become as they watched.
It was not only Lind Frey's children but the Harmonic Dragons had been forced to suppress unruly combatants or stop fights that were about to cross the rules. It had been like an adult stopping a baby!
They were that powerful!
Lind Frey had made the tournament to settle their differences but it was clear now it was also a message.
{Do not go back to your old ways or there will be a terrible price exacted from your corpses.}
Some, like his allies, were excited! The dragon clans were practically over the moons in joy to see the power of the True Lord's Clan. Further, they could sense powerful bloodlines in his children that excited them too.
Several patriarchs and matriarchs were already making plans for their younger generations to interact with them in the near future.
The 3 supreme weaving guilds were the most excited. The techniques and skills demonstrated not only by his children but by the Frey Clan members as well inspired them! They saw the expansion of their field in an explosive way in the future with very reduced risks.
The Heaven Realm finals were about to begin and the main tournament for the Immortals would start soon as well!
