Chapter 1433 - 1432 - 6 Elemental Life
Chapter 1433 - 1432 - 6 Elemental Life
Lind's predictions had been right and wrong.
He had been right that all his wives would become pregnant but it was his side that dictated the when, not them. Further, there were other issues he had not expected.
Mortals could not survive in the 4th layer. They would literally explode if they were brought up to it.
As such, all beasts nurtured their children in the womb, egg, whatever until they were at least a Soul Realm. Body Refining was a given just by the nutrients the mother gave them so it was not so complicated until the final step.
Depending on the particular beast race, the breakthrough to the Soul Realm usually coincided or was swiftly followed by birth.
Demons seemed to have a natural ability to reach that level as well. It likely had to do with their ability to be so high in combat power or maybe demonic Qi was simply inclined to reach the Demon Soul Realm faster.
Either way, there were plenty of records of successfully getting demon babies to the Demon Soul Realm before they were born.
Aether children and Elementals obviously had no such issue but humans were the issue.
Humans were damn fragile, even those born with a physique still started as tiny babies with no defenses. Also, the human pregnancy cycle seemed to be vulnerable as well. Many artifacts or environments with formations had to be created to safely nurture a pregnant human woman.
Normally, that was.
Lind had been so wrong about that the Daos were doing. They were indeed helping the Harmonic Dragons become a true race with their own cycle, but it was having drastic side effects!
Not only were children being nurtured but the usual danger was entirely negated! Mortals could exist safely in the Throne of Defiance so long as they were babies!
The principal escaped him. Creating safe areas was one thing but he distinctly saw Immortal elemental Qi not causing so much as a tremor with any child anywhere!
He had no time to appreciate it as his new children were born! They were all born not only in the Soul Realm, but as 6 elementals!
It was not just the Harmonic Dragons, it was all new life in the Throne! That was not the Dao but him! It was how he created the Throne in the first place!
He also noticed one other difference. All of his current children, regardless of their mother's influence, were half dragons!
The technical term would be dragonewts but he knew that could change if they refined their bloodline. They were not Harmonic Dragons either.
They were specifically his! Emerald dragons!
Their harmonies varied but 2 of them had very dark green ones!
That was the final realization for him. He had known the Daos would affect how a species like dragons gave birth. Normally, for longer lived races, a single egg or maybe 2 was all that would happen in a given cycle of pregnancy.
Ethry laid 7 eggs! Seven!
Kora was not far behind her with 5!
While they had rekindled their relationships, Lysanna and Annabelle seemed to take the most with triplets! Twins were given to the rest but as if to mock his assumptions, the babies were always a balance!
In other words, there were no identical twins. It was always a boy and a girl. The triplets threw him off as it seemed the harmonies dictated that. One defensive, offensive, and support aligned harmony were the results there.
Chu was the only one that gave birth to an actual litter! She did not lay eggs despite the dragon bloodline intertwined with her existence.
Lind had been buried under 8 kittens that had scales!
As they all had dragon bloodlines, their growth rate was insane!
What took normal children years, they did in months!
Their intelligence increased by leaps and bounds but the truly stunning thing was they had a similar potential that the new generations of Harmonic Dragons showed! It had to be the influence of the Daos but it was generally a joyous decade that followed.
The Harmonic Dragons welcomed the new generation whole heartedly. Sadly, he could not postpone the organization of people to run the arena and other areas of the Throne of Defiance.
No other facilities were going to be built aside from the floating arena. The raw natural setting of the Throne was best for it.
Thus the furnaces and other work areas were now being put to use to train and improve.
Those that wanted to compete had to go through rigorous testing but Lind was also nurturing those that would be the judges. He showed them how it was not just about quality and purity but also complexity and synergy.
Elixirs were more obvious on the latter but pills had that as well in a different way. His children were happy to tag along and more than a few showed a bit of interest but even under the best case scenario, they would only be Heaven Realms by the time the tournament started.
They would not be strong enough nor experienced enough due to the goals of the tournament. It was meant to encourage growth and rewards for Immortals.
Especially Sovereign Tiers that could not usually find such benefits in the course of their lives. It was an opportunity so precious it had allowed the war to end and keep them from being troublesome for the last 50,000 years.
It also helped the Throne of Defiance border was locked down. While some residents had left, returning was strictly screened.
The Elementals living there were special circumstances but it was allowing the demonic Elementals to truly grow properly. They were not increasing much in numbers but they were now much more robust compared to the rail thin one he had met initially.
Even she had filled out but not by much. Her body was already established so it could not change that much.
Lind enjoyed his family life when he could but Fey finally sent him some people willing to help him test a few things.
Couples that had struggled to have families had come to him under the guise of simply being evaluated by him. His skill was held in high regard and he truly would be examining them.
He wanted to know if the Daos affected more than just the natural cycle but if it could shift even those that may not be able to procreate currently.
They were from the Sky, Heaven, and Immortal Realms, but no higher than Shard Tier.. Some were 6 elementals as it would be interesting to see how that would affect them as well.
Once they arrived, he set them up in the old meeting halls he had made for the Convocation.
They were purely treated as patients around him but otherwise allowed to cultivate as they wished. Fey sent him some people that broke his heart when he heard how much they had been trying for a family.
Some were more than couples but the man was not the issue as one of his wives did have children or a woman had more than one husband but it did not seem to matter there.
A few simply were hoping for closure but some he truly found imbalances caused by their cultivation techniques. He helped those and confirmed they could now attempt again if they wished.
He was wondering why people missed that but then realized he had such a deep grasp of his elemental theories that he was applying it even to simple evaluations. He passed that along to his mother and other healers in the Frey Clan.
It produced instant results for other ailments but only in catching them or proper diagnosis.
Lind let the families stay as he still wanted to know but he warned them that the Daos were acting in strange ways and they were free to leave.
The others he examined were more common issues. Infertility in cultivators was not unusual given the energies they were exposed to. The changes in the body were likely to have such results in men and women.
Men were actually more inclined to be affected due to how much battle they put themselves through without fully thinking things through. Women were far more resilient as the Laws of Life or the Dao were already a part of them to some degree.
Still, Lind confirmed some were truly infertile for various reasons but he told them to stay for a few years to see if the Throne of Defiance's current state could do anything for them.
It did not even take 6 months!
It did not seem to matter for either gender! They simply reported happily being pregnant! He examined them and was shocked! It was not as simple as organs being repaired or increasing fertility somehow.
They simply had babies! The issues were still there, but it did not seem to matter!
He was floored but administered to them through birth and the surprises finally rolled in.
Now, 6 elemental cultivators had almost nothing to do with their children also being a 6 elemental but whole Clans had been founded to increase the odds. The Gu Clan so long ago was like that but not all members were 6 elementals.
In the current families, every single one was a 6 elemental! It confirmed most of what he assumed but it also gave him some pause as it seemed even casual frequency did not lower the chances!
Happy tears and joy was not a bad thing at all, but Lind had to make some changes to the rules of the people coming to the arena. He had no way to stop it but the tournament could take years to resolve.
He could not have mass births during the tournament or chaos would ensue! He felt a headache pounding in his skull but just shy of 10 years to the tournament, the Daos shifted again!
