Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1432 - 1431 - Heirarchy

Chapter 1432 - 1431 - Heirarchy

Lind only had a thousand years before the tournament began. Almost all the emerald tokens had been claimed but a few powers were holding elimination rounds to narrow what they had left to dispense.

The exterior world, however, was not his current focus.

Instead, he was looking out at the Throne of Defiance and the changes nearly 50,000 years had wrought. He had seen bits and pieces but ever since the Harmonic Dragons began to mate to reproduce, things had shifted dramatically.

He did not fully understand the why, but the how was easy enough. Elements were shifting like a storm when they mated!

It was unexpected but quite normal for powerful aether beasts. Immortal beasts, normally, had better control of it, but since the early generations were all the Harmonic Dragons had, there were no such controls.

Ethry and he had no such issues but he suspected that was due to his unique origin and her race memory filling in blanks instinctively for her.

The amount of embarrassing conversation he had to hold with his wives on the subject would burn his memory forevermore but it helped curtail the near cataclysmic shifts that had begun to occur.

Ice swapped to desert, up to down, and so forth so long as the dragons were actively mating had been highly destructive.

Thankfully, they moved outwards for their activities and claimed new territory.

He was then forced to hold what would be generously called a health seminar for all the Harmonic Dragons. Some were happy to get the information while others were like him and wished a hole would open beneath their feet to end it all!

After that was settled, things became stable in one sense but now he had to build up the structure he wanted the Harmonic Dragons to follow when he was gone as well as assign those to administer to the new arena.

The Frey Clan was a competing power like everyone else but some of their elders had been offered as judges. Lind had also entered into a contract with many more from the various powers.

While they would be part of teams to judge, he wanted no mistake in who was actually in charge.

Normally, Clans and sects used Elders to be generally at the top but aether beasts did not decide their hierarchy that way.

While he wanted to encourage the more intellectual side of his new race, he would not force them to follow against their will. They had far more capability in production crafts than other aether beasts.

Only the phoenix races shared such a large percentage of such ability. Their fire was ideal for alchemy, elixirs, and other professions that used fire.

Harmonic Dragons, however, seemed to have a closer level of ability to humans and demons. It was not just about their harmonies but all of them had all 6 elements.

It naturally gave rise to abilities most beasts could never achieve on a regular basis.

They also did not rely on their bodies as much as they did elemental Qi. The delicate work that most professions required they could pull off directly with elemental Arts.

Avian races were actually very adept at such work but few had the interest.

Lind began to really examine the various strengths his race had.

Some were warriors like any dragon wished to be. Pride and power in one body could be dangerous yet they were tempered not only with battles between each other but with his wives as well.

Cyntilla and Shoti were nightmares for them in some respects. Annabelle and Kora were the true terrors. Illusions and the speed of a roc left them in the dust and unable to cope!

It was humbling for many of them as they had been the undisputed lords of the Throne of Defiance for so long yet his wives proved what could happen if more experienced Immortals shed the chains of fate.

Aside from battle experience, however, he also looked at those production results. Compared to him it was nearly laughable but he was looking for future grade 7 and Law Grade experts.

They were inventive in their solutions and he actually found some of them truly inspiring for solving issues he had for a long time.

He wanted them to have a separate structure from the warriors but no less equal. If nothing else, it would make future trade and tournaments more under their purview than the direct battles.

"Lind!" He looked up to see Qing smiling at him. A chill went down his spine briefly. Had he forgotten something? He did lost track of time but he was certain there was nothing until the start of the tournament!

Her long golden locks bounced in the sunlight as her pristine white robe hugged her body but his eyes narrowed in shock as he sensed something familiar!

He got up on shaky legs and covered the distance between them instantly. He pulled her up into the air as she smiled wide before pouting at him.

"You cheated!" He laughed as he gently set her down. He put a hand on her wrist and examined her. She was pregnant!

It was so much harder for Immortals to have children but the 4th layer made an ideal environment. Still, they had not had children in some time but her smile was so wide he realized there was more!

"The others?" She shrugged before turning away from him in her good mood.

He wanted to rush off but she had an iron grasp on his arm. He waited before she glanced back.

"Kora and Lysanna are pregnant as well. Ethry is irritated but in her case it could take far longer for things to progress. Divine dragons at the Immortal Realm are apparently very slow to even show progress at first." Shock flooded him.

Three?! There were 3 of his wives pregnant at once? What were the odds of that?

The instant he had that thought his vision filled with the faint glow of fate. It was almost non-existent in his Throne but not entirely purged.

He saw tiny threads trying to ensnare his children. He would not allow it!

His aura flared and the threads vanished but that was not all he noticed. There was a force in the Throne of Defiance. It was aligned with the Daos of Life and Death.

It was not a simple chance that began the cycle of natural birth! The Daos throughout the Throne were stabilizing and settling at long last!

It also made him realize what was going on. He was a dragon with a harmony to be sure but he was not exactly a Harmonic Dragon.

He was being affected by the flow of Dao like all of them and it meant he too would have a higher chance of having children! It also meant other dragons would be affected when they arrived in 1000 years.

The flow of Dao would only be more powerful! Long lived races that could barely reproduce compared to humans and demons would flock to his Throne in droves if they knew!

His face must have betrayed some of his thoughts as Qing became concerned and touched his back to bring him back.

"We need to check something quickly. If I am right, I will need you and anyone with healing ability to quickly make an organization from scratch!" He picked her up bridal style, much to her joy, and they flew off like the wind.

It did not take long to confirm what he needed. Ember was instrumental but it was quite literally the ideal conditions for any being to try and reproduce in his Throne. It was compensating for the relatively low numbers of the Harmonic Dragons and the foundation of the Throne finally settling.

The era of spontaneous dragon spawn was over. It had been close to 45,000 years from start to finish so the next era would likely be similar.

Once it settled, things would become relatively normal but the realization of what they were facing was another layer of hierarchy that had to be quickly built up or it would get out of hand.

Rather than 1 or 2 eggs to a dragon, there could be 7 to 15 or more! It would cause an explosion in the population they were not ready for!

Lind began to work as fast as he could with those dragons not currently engaged in mating. He also prepared for all his wives to become pregnant at whatever cycle their race allowed.

Why Cyntilla and Shoti were not pregnant was unknown but it was likely a matter of time!

He also was unsure on one other factor. He was in a Throne heavily influenced by him to nurture dragons. He was also completely transformed in body and soul into a dragon.

Previously, his children were generally synergy between him and his wives. Demons, humans, and the rest were heavily influenced by their mother but now it might not be that way again.

They had to understand it as it might hold true for the incoming visitors. Would they all be part dragon regardless of the parents?

They needed answers and in 9 months, he would get them.
