Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1431 - 1430 - True Beginning

Chapter 1431 - 1430 - True Beginning

A massive structure now floated over the Throne of Defiance. Despite its size, however, no shadow obstructed the lands below.

It stretched for hundreds of kilometers but it was not just big on the outside, it was massive on the inside.

Space had been distorted such that a single arena could house millions of audience members with ease without blocking a clear view of the center.

VIP suites and seats littered the area but that was not all, there were various support facilities for food, storage, repair, and so forth. It was essentially a city but it was focused solely around the arenas rather than a center square of trade.

There were 3 main arenas for combat but then there was an area full of production alcoves and tempered demonstration platforms.

Smaller dueling arenas also existed.

It had all been done by Lind but the size and adjustments took him most of the 50,000 years. The few breaks he had and other issues, meant he had no time to check on the Throne itself.

He flew slowly now as white bandages covered his arm. It had become distracting when his wives kept pestering about it. The Eternal Flame Dao was powerful but he was slowly healing.

He could safely channel Qi and Laws through it but Daos were dangerous. Still, it did not hamper him at all.

He felt the power flowing through his body and was actually glad. The extended time pushing his weaving, Forging, and even elixirs in the last 50,000 years had produced results even he had not anticipated.

He had been focused on his base power too much. He had forgotten the joy of creation and pushing himself.

His foundation was far more solid and he felt like his overall power had improved by consequence of creating the massive arena.

He was now relaxing as he took in the current state of the Throne. The Harmonic Dragons had steadily increased in power and numbers but he narrowed his eyes as he noticed a few things.

The emerald veins were still going strong but the storm at the center was calming down. It was not noticeable to anyone else but he could tell it had lost 10 to 15% strength.

He also noticed the eggs were almost non-existent along the veins. The number of dragons was now in the hundreds of thousands with over 30% Immortal Realm.

Such a massive progression was insane by any standard but he knew that would taper off in time. The Throne would shift and eventually have to be regulated or guarded to keep the resources flowing.

It was just reality. No matter how grand the start, nothing was infinite. The events that had to line up to give him such a rich start to his Throne would be nearly impossible to replicate again.

He also understood several harsh hurdles had been caused by him for any future Throne.

Dao was hard enough for peak Sovereign Tiers, but asking someone to use it as the foundation of their Throne was nearly impossible on top of that!

He smiled as he saw the young dragons playfully biting or chasing each other. They were unaware of his presence but a surge of Qi drew his attention.

It felt–odd.

He covered the distance and found himself in one of the many forests. The trees now towered higher than some mountains!

He noticed a lot of ripe herbs but left them in place. He had more than enough in his ring for himself.

He eventually saw a blast of flames go into the air. It was a shimmering gold in color but it was followed by crimson. Two Harmonic Dragons were fighting so seriously?

He slowed down and eventually landed on a branch far above a clearing made by battle.

Trees had been shattered and even the earth ripped up to exposed stone and ore beneath. Yet, none of the exposed treasure was of interest to the 2 dragons fighting.

They were both at the Shard Tier, near the peak of it, from what he could tell, but he simply looked on confused.

They were absolutely serious and not holding back, yet he felt no malice in their auras. They even seemed to be so focused he would call them hyper aware of each other. A twitch of wing or claw and the other reacted instantly.

Their tails caused a shockwave that shattered even more branches when they clashed!

Scales actually cracked and a few flew off their bodies! He was not too concerned as such superficial injuries for an Immortal dragon were nothing regardless of race.

The pair backed off and he finally got a good look at them. One was a dragon that had golden eyes and mane with crimson scales. She was able to use her powerful wings with her 4 limbs to easily dominate the sky or ground.

Her tail ended simply with a narrow tip but that was basic for any dragon. Her harmony actually leaned toward healing if he recalled correctly.

The dragon facing her was a bit odd. His harmony was crimson but his eyes were pure black. His scales were the color of a burnt orange while his spikes were as dark as his eyes. His claws were 4 each on all 6 of his limbs.

His tail ended in almost a hammer shape with more claws. His head also had a single horn protruding out ready to strike at his enemies.

While he lacked wings, he could fly as fast as her no question.

They had clearly been at it for some time but it was neither a spar nor some kind of play.

He felt someone arrive next to him and saw Ethry alight next to him. She seemed happy for some reason.

He was about to ask her what was up when a roar made him snap back to the fight. The female dragon had made a challenge! What were they doing up to that moment?!

The male responded in kind as he tore up the earth. He vanished for a brief moment but Lind was able to trace him. His limbs slammed into the left flank of the female but she was ready for him.

Her tail greeted his attack with ease as she flapped her wings to gain some distance.

He felt other presences gather but everyone was excited for some reason as well. What was he missing?

[It will be over soon.] Ethry's voice suddenly echoed in his head and she seemed ecstatic. He narrowed his eyes but looked on and saw what she meant.

The male had been seriously hurt in his failed attack. Two of his limbs were broken and his own left flank was now open to attack.

The female did not miss that chance as golden flames were condensed with lightning. The male screamed in pain but he did not collapse. He stood smoldering, glaring up at her.

Yet, he finally knelt on his good leg and bowed his head. A triumphant roar came from the female and was suddenly joined by all those watching save Lind and Ethry.

She was holding his arm and smiling ear to ear.

"She did it! She really did it!" He slowly nodded that she won but was it that exciting? The dragons often fought, if not so seriously.

His silence finally seemed to get through and Ethry suddenly began laughing.

"I forget you do not have a race memory and we did things differently. Just watch." She pointed at the previously fighting pair and he saw her healing her foe. He was acting strange.

Rather than asserting his pride once more, the male was acting all submissive. It rang a bell all of a sudden and Lind's eyes went wide.

"No way?!" He then watched as the pair nipped at each other playfully and he recognized it for what it was.

Mating! The dragons were finally mating naturally!

He then felt a flush as he realized the whole battle had been about dominance. A new matriarch had just been born!

"We should–" Ethry had him in an iron grip and the other Harmonic Dragons were all roaring or in some way celebrating. They weren't seriously going to stay to watch, right?!

His worst fears were avoided as the pair roared in unison before flying off towards a peak in the distance.

None followed the new couple but it meant that a new territory would be carved out of the Throne of Defiance. He would have to plan some of that a bit as a few areas would need to be off limits.

Still, it marked the true beginning of the Harmonic Dragons. They would no longer rely on the emerald veins in the Throne. He would be curious how the eggs would be nurtured but that was a future thing to learn.

"Lind, the others are waiting for us. You are free now, right?" A sudden chill went down his spine as he turned to his mate and her pheromones were clear as day! Her flushed cheeks with her prismatic hair was not fair!

He had no chance to respond as he was literally pulled into the air and then dragged back toward the residence he had made for them all.

He wanted to slow her down but she was stronger than him at that moment! How?! Why?!

His own draconic instincts were betraying him! Damn it!

Lind saw the residence in the distance but just barely his aura picked up more roars. The Throne of Defiance was officially in mating season!
