Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1389 - 1388 - Diamond Sky Dragon

Chapter 1389 - 1388 - Diamond Sky Dragon

The young woman was much better at hiding but just as he had warned her brother, no dragon could hide from him.

He backed off and noticed something else as he took the pair in. The boy was not just asleep, he had been put to sleep!

He looked at the young woman and felt a chill down his spine as she licked her lips. He also got a clear reading that she was a Shard Tier Immortal!

Her vitality made it clear she was far younger than him in the same cultivation realm too!

He could feel 6 primary elemental cores burning brightly in her beast core. He also noticed the core was holding a literal winged dragon shaped crystal!

She was not a bronze earth dragon!

Yet, he could feel the familial bond between them and also discerned the younger brother's issue the bronze earth dragon overlooked.

Perhaps it was even a test of the young dragon's ability to master his instincts.

"Those pheromones will not work on me. Stop putting them out or I will make you comply." Lind did not let her dictate their encounter but sadly, he had underestimated the reaction.

Rather than decrease the amount, she drastically increased and seemingly smiled like a madwoman. He felt the battlelust coming off her to the point he was reminded of those damn demons that followed him around like a puppy!

Why did battle maniacs love him so damned much?

Her figure vanished but while his physical senses were fooled, his True Lord senses were not.

He casually lifted his left hand but then arched an eyebrow. A set of prismatic claws appeared.

He had been right, she was a Diamond Sky Dragon! Possibly one of the best bloodlines below the Divine bloodlines. She was also close to progressing it from what he could tell.

The claws came from his right and his left but only the left had been clear to him until the last moment.

He casually allowed them to strike as his skin shimmered emerald. Scales did not appear but the clang of metal was heard. Also, the crack of her claws came right after.

Instead of cry of pain, he heard a laugh! A laugh!

Lind sighed as he changed gravity on his target. The brush suddenly shifted as the girl reappeared with a flushed face and eyes sparkling up at him. Creepy!

"If you don't control yourself, I will knock you out and this will be considered our one and only meeting." He could use his Authority but it would definitely be an abuse. Thankfully, or sadly depending on how one looked at it, he had experience with cultivators who craved battle like a breath of air.

Her excitement died instantly and she actually pouted! She, too, was still very much a child.

He observed her for a little longer before swiping out with his right hand to catch the shimmering form of the young boy once more.

"L–let her go! Stop bullying my sister!" A headache began to form in his mind. Just what was the bronze earth dragon thinking? In fact, where were they?

Lind let his aura flare and both young dragons flinched but his face turning to a frown seemed to snap them out of their childish attitude.

"Where are the Crystal Tier and above Immortals?" In the entire forest, there were only Shard Tiers. Powerful in such great numbers but only fodder if a single Radiant Tier arrived.

No beast seemed worried but Lind knew all those elders would not just leave without a reason.

He tried extending his aura but he ran into some kind of barrier that far exceeded his strength. He recognized Barbatos' intent so it was clearly a defensive formation but why would he do that?

He released both of the siblings and they knelt in seriousness.

"True Lord, a few months after you went into a dormant state, your Guardian distributed the remaining artifacts and weapons you created. Lord Barbatos had come because the invasion was moving ahead and they did not have the power to stop it." Concern washed over him but it was already told to him by Haro.

Hearing the reason why, however, did not bode well.

"After that?" He looked at the Diamond Sky Dragon girl and she no longer seemed immature as she became grim and he could sense concern as well.

"The forests are sacred so they are off limits but anywhere else was open to attack. Due to the recovery, those areas were included as off limits." Lind knew rules like that were essential to the Under Lands.

There was no point in killing an enemy for no benefit, especially in the sparse Qi environment they lived in. Still, if it brought a greater victory, they just might strike at the leaders home base.

Barbatos was not a fool it seemed.

"Anything else?" It was the young boy that spoke up. His bronze eyes looked enraged.

"The Sovereign Lands attacked 6 months ago! They came in force and tried to take more from us!" Lind stood corrected. The barrier was not for the invasion faction but for the Sovereign Lands!

It seemed word had gotten to them or they had discovered that the Under Lands were recovering despite the formation imposed on them.

The inevitable conflict was upon them far sooner than they wished.

Given time, the Under Lands could have at least been in a position to negotiate with resources far better than they had before.

"Any more?" He doubted that had up to date information but a communication jade stone appeared in the young girl's hands. He inspected it and recognized it was a recording, not a live connection.

He sunk his aura into it and Barbatos missing an eye appeared. He was also covered in blood and scars that had not been there before. Still, he seemed steady despite all the injuries.

[True Lord, the younglings volunteered to watch over your sleep and give this to you. The civil war had not been as bad as we feared. We are all unwilling to lose what few bases of power remain here no matter the recovery.] Lind appreciated the update but Barbatos' scale of not bad and his were likely drastically different.

Barbatos could lose an arm and shrug it off as 'not bad.'

[Those bastards from the Sovereign Lands are the real problem. The moment they arrived, those eight legged critters in the Throne of Darkness made a move too. Always knew they were against us.] The sneer on the bald man's face looked particularly gruesome as a cut had lengthened his mouth in human form.

Lind then got a general update.

The civil war had actually not been bad at all. It was agreed not only to leave the forests alone but also any population centers above a certain threshold. Those villagers that did not want to fight or were below a certain cultivation realm, were allowed to be taken out of the way.

They preserved their foundation while still finding places to fight.

It had been going in the favor of the faction Lind supported when the flying artifacts and other forces of the Sovereign Lands arrived to attack them. Barbatos lost his eye in that fight but they rallied quickly.

The previously divided Under Lands had united in a heartbeat. They may not all want to invade, but they were clear on who was their enemy.

Thanks to Lind's creations and the improved conditions of the Under Lands, they did not get steam rolled as they would have in the past.

Still, life was not so kind as to dole out hope.

A wave of massive spiders suddenly broke out of the ground at the very villages they had previously avoided! The Throne had gone for a sneak attack.

Many millions died before the Under Lands were able to pull back and save as many as they could. Lind felt his anger rise.

War was war. People knew they might die but they accepted that possibility. Conscripted armies were not his cup of tea but he knew a defense of life might force such issues.

After that, the battlelines had been drawn and the Under Lands had become a bloody mess. The invasion faction had suffered the most as they had been too bloodthirsty.

Barbatos spared no vitriol for their idiocy. It had cost the Under Lands a lot, but then a change happened.

Lind smiled as he recognized an 'unknown power' that slammed into the Sovereign Lands and the spiders.

A woman let them that seemed to wield Life and Death like literal forces of nature at her command. Her hair was so black it absorbed all light and forest green that seemed to soothe people just to see it wave in the air.

The Frey Clan seemed to be doing well!

Lind reached the end of the report and the pair of dragon siblings nearly flew through the air at his rage.

A prismatic Divine Ryuu had been captured by the other dragon clans!
