Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1390 - 1389 - Divine Ryuu Clan

Chapter 1390 - 1389 - Divine Ryuu Clan

Far from the current battles being waged in the Under Lands, a Throne was established in the Sovereign Lands. It had trees and mountains that dwarfed all life. It had the most resilient forms of plants, beasts, and even the earth itself were tougher than anywhere else.

The reason Thrones were considered separate from the larger overall lands, was due to the drastically different ecosystems. No Sovereign Tier could impose their will on them either.

The Throne with such powerful existences was simply called the Throne of Might.

It was a fitting title for a Divine Dragon Bloodline. There were several of those in the 4th layer but the Throne of Might could be considered the most powerful of 3 clans.

Sinuous forms flitted through the skies and all the beasts below, despite being so powerful, fled into the shadows of tree and burrow.

Ethry was bleeding but recovering in a cell looking out from one of the tallest peaks in the Throne of Might. She was angry at her captors, herself, but also the fools that betrayed the Frey Clan to that sneak attack.

She had gone to defend her family and had not expected dragons of all races to act against her. Her mate was well known and a True Lord to boot. Why would the dragons act against him?

Her eyes shimmered with power but the arrays around her locked her down tight. She could not even put a dent in the power around her.

"Peak Law Grade arrays." She sneered but her storage ring was sealed. They could not remove it from her unless she was dead but they could stop her using it. Unlike Lind's there was no spirit on it.

If there had been, they might have been able to attack it that way so it was lucky for her that way at least.

She felt no need for spirit tools or weapons but she did have one. Just one.

Lind had made her a set of fans for human form battle that let her use the wind like she was in her natural state.

They were infused with a spirit that helped her grow the weapons as she improved. It was a strange experience but she valued them greatly.

They were sealed away in her ring now but she could still hear them in her mind.

[Mistress, it makes no sense. All dragons know Master Frey is a True Lord of Dragons. Why would they take you away like that?] A woman's voice spoke eloquently but Ethry had no answers as even she had been shocked when she awoke a prisoner of dragons of all things.

She had been hit by something that could render even a dragon senseless and that list was very short. Killing a dragon was far easier than incapacitating one.

[MIstress, I believe it was Violet Dream Lily refined with Shade of Arog Blossoms.] Another voice spoke but she sounded a bit meek compared to the other. Ethry did not understand how a pair of weapons made at the same time could have such drastically different spirits, but they did.

She recognized the herbs too. They were hallucinogens by themselves but when sickly spider-like blossoms were made into a refinement mix for the lily, it made a paralytic that was highly effective on dragons, phoenixes, and other divine bloodlines.

The process was very delicate and difficult to pull off. Mother Mira was one of the few to have mastered such a process on a similar scale but only as an antidote that worked on nearly all poisons.

Getting the Shade of Arog Blossoms was particularly difficult as they were temperamental plants to even try to grow in a garden. Some plants refused to be domesticated or coddled.

Still, it did not change the fact she was caught.

All that remained was to find out why.

She did not have to wait long as she smelled a dragon coming close. It irritated her that her aura could no longer sense them but she frowned as the gender of the dragon was male. A young male at that.

She felt a surge in Qi as a section of the wall seemed to dissolve but she still felt a restraint on her power. She could not dive out of the cell as a young man with very similar hair to her own looked at her.

He looked unsure at first but then a smile spread wide as he saw her.

She felt a chill at that smile. It was not a smile of greeting nor of simple fellowship as some dragons had given her in the past.

"My mate has come at last." His words cleared away part of her curiosity but anger flared in her.

"Your what?! I am the mate of the True Lord! Release me or you will face the consequences alone!" The young man at least had the decency to flash shame.

So, they were acting with full knowledge of who she was.

"You may be mated to the True Lord, but we are Soul Mates. I felt you arrive and you would feel me if your cultivation was released." Her race memory seemed to scoff at his words.

The instant he spoke she knew who had taken her.

"The Divine Ryuu Clan. You believe that similar dragons are meant to be mates. Even you, though, cannot be that insane. The True Lord will crush your clan into nothing for this!" She was not kidding.

Lind would wipe them from all of reality for kidnapping her without cause. The young man smiled sadly at her as if she was slow to understand.

"True Lords cannot defy Heaven and Earth. Once the ritual is complete, you will walk your true path with me forever." She frowned at him. His words made no sense.

Defy Heaven and Earth? True Lords were manifestations of Heaven and Earth in many ways. Breaking a mating bond unwillingly would invoke the Wrath of Heaven instead!

She felt like the young dragon was being used and her prismatic eyes narrowed at that thought.

A very difficult paralytic and now a fanatic of the Divine Ryuu Clan. Forces working to betray the Frey Clan were also clearly in cahoots with them. Something sinister was going on, she felt it.

No sane dragon would remotely believe what the boy was saying. She had one chance and could not miss it.

"You are too young. I am your senior and you are only a Sun Tier. Where is your parent?" He clasped his hands so tightly she could hear his knuckles crack, but it answered one of her questions.

He was not supposed to be there!

Pain lanced her throat as dragon fire exploded outward at that moment from her. The boy was totally caught off guard and panicked. With her cultivation sealed, she could not transform her flesh to withstand her draconic powers.

Dragon fire was not a cultivation ability but a natural one, even in human form. She slipped past the collapsed boy and went to leave when the room tilted.

Pain slammed into her back as a man appeared holding her throat as he looked down at her. His eyes were pools of darkness but she only glared back.

"You are not his parent. Who are you?" Surprise bloomed on his wide face but he ignored her as if he was hearing something else.

"We have found him. Take the young master away to recover." Figures that moved faster than she could track took the boy away. Ethry realized what was happening at that moment.

Her shoulders began to shake and then raspy laughter left her that seemed to confuse the large man.

"You fools. You used that boy and his Clan to draw out my mate. You will regret that. Even if I am dead, I know you will all join me soon." She did not doubt a single word she said and it got through to the man who paled at them.

She did not know why they wanted to draw Lind out but they had chosen the worst method imaginable.

The fanatical Divine Ryuu Clan was used, or at least that boy was, to try and give them plausible deniability.

The man released her but he held no respect in his eyes.

"The other clans may capitulate to that abomination, but we will purge him from the world. Your spawn will follow." Ethry froze as she felt the true fanatic was in front of her. Purge a True Lord?

Were they totally insane? Her thoughts must have been clear as the man produced something that made her collapse! All her strength was gone! She felt as weak as a kitten!

"Dragon Souls cannot be stolen by humans. They must know their place." Ethry felt her race memory finally react. It screamed in rage at the man's words and she recognized what she was looking at.

"You sided with the Fiends!" An amused smile crossed his face as he turned to leave.

"The Fiends were just tools but they want him dead as much as we do. So long as they align with our goals, we will use them." There were dragons like Blood Talon that betrayed on an individual basis and took followers with them against their will.

There were, however, Clans that had done that but were supposed to be all dead!

"You should prepare. When a True Lord dies, their mates suffer horribly. You will be lucky to survive." She could not focus as her race memory tried to place the dragon in front of her before the name finally came to her.

"Stone Hide Dragon!" The man froze partway out and glanced back at her with rage.

"So, you really are a Divine Ryuu. That boy is a mongrel but you are the real thing. If you know that name, then you know that they did to us. The future will not be set by the other races. We are the strongest!" She could only stare as the wall solidified.

She had seen it in humans and demons but never her own. The Fiends had sown seeds of distrust and reaped benefits from many races but dragons and other divine bloodlines were notorious for defying them to the bitter end.

Yet, the Stone Hide Dragons had gone on a rampage after human cultivators stole an entire clutch of eggs. Their anger was justified but they took it to an extreme and allied with the Fiends to kill the humans to every man, woman, and child.

Lind was in danger and she was the bait!
