Chapter 1313 - 1312 - True Dao
Chapter 1313 - 1312 - True Dao
While a Divine Inheritance normally had the feeling of being more solid or real compared to the Celestial Fields. The only comparison Lind had was Lord Skinwalker's Inheritance that recreated a memory back into reality.
It had always been impossible for a World Realm to grasp all that was happening in that Inheritances, but now, as an Immortal, he walked into a place that made the Skinwalker Inheritance seem like a pale shadow!
There were real plants in front of him, not recreations. There were crystals that were almost 12 meters tall that felt like they could crush him with ease.
There was a volcano in the distance, easily over 50 kilometers away, but he felt like the heat was right upon him! How did Immortals live in the Divine Realm lands?
The spirit had vanished but he noticed a sort of hourglass had appeared and he understood he could not waste time!
He started with the crystals as there were natural and demonic ones spread throughout the area. He sat in front of a crystal that shimmered with air Qi and the wind was already flowing powerfully around it.
He sat in front of it and began to sense the environment. Laws were the foundation of the world but combine the various aspects together and they would make a Dao.
The Dao of Air, for instance, would incorporate all the Laws of Air. Law of Flow, Resistance, and so forth. Lind knew many Laws but not all of them by far.
Thus, exposing himself to Daos would let him fill in the blanks and begin to progress even faster than before!
He could deepen his own Laws until he reached the peak of the Radiant Tier and be able to take the final step to the last tier of the Immortal Realm. With the exposure to Dao, he would also get a good sense of the next major realm!
He would not, in any concrete sense, attain Dao as his crystal would shatter if he tried, but he had already touched on pseudo-Dao in his weaving and other production professions.
It drained him incredibly quickly but it was still possible to allow the surface level power be incorporated into his own.
Lind lost himself in studying the various plants, crystals, and natural settings. He increased the power of his Laws and felt a shift suddenly with the 3 fire elements at his command.
His long study between the 3 elemental sets made a breakthrough!
Seeing a true natural setting with his Immortal senses made him wish he could return to Skinwalker's Inheritance. How much progress would he make now spending months inside it?!
After fire, came water, then earth, and finally air. The primary elements of all 3 sets seemed to become part of a single Dao but it was incomplete.
The last 2 elements were much harder and even the Dao items in the currency environment were scarce on those 2 as well. Still, he closed his eyes beneath a mammoth tree.
Its branches shaded him from the sun but allowed him to sit in both darkness and light at the same time. He had studied the dance of the elements for so long that he was likely one of the few 6 elementals able to draw parallels at such an advanced level.
Ever so slowly, the darkness, shadow, and True dark began to coalesce in his mind and dantian. He saw the bonds between them and how they interconnected on a fundamental level.
He had not been too shallow before but he realized there was a Law behind them all! A single Law he had overlooked among all the others he had studied.
Laws of elements were relatively easy for Immortals to grasp. The Law of Burning was a common one but the Law of Heat Transfer was not so easy unless one was an alchemist or refiner.
Immortals plumbed the depths of their Laws to open themselves up to others and increase their power over the respective areas the Laws covered.
Lind was truly unique in that regard. Many sought a weakness in him but he compensated with the 3 elemental sets. If his darkness was insufficient, then shadow could come into play and so forth.
Now, he realized he had been treating them as totally separate but a cycle of elements when reality was different.
The dark and light elements finally came together and his head nearly split apart!
He had not just improved his Laws but truly touched on the Dao!
His harmony flared outside of his body suddenly. Everything in the room froze before slowly feeding his harmony. He had no control!
He was like an ant before an elephant! His feeble attempts to stop or slow down what was happening failed miserably.
The 18 elements slowly merged until only 6 remained but they were unlike anything he had seen before.
They radiated outward with elemental power and Laws far beyond anything he had heard of! His fire element tamed all the Laws related to fire just by existing! His water element and the others did the same.
Unlike before where they had nested places in his crystal, they now joined together and became similar to his crystal.
Understanding washed over him as his foundation became incredibly solid but it also raised a problem.
His feeling of reaching the peak actually got much further away!
It was like he had broken out of his shell only to find he was weaker than before! What had happened?
[Surprising. You have touched on a True Dao.] The spirit's voice finally shook him out the wild tempest of his thoughts only to realize that she had tamed his harmony. They were back at the courtyard!
Lind also collapsed as his body was covered in sweat and he felt like he had just finished a marathon! He had been getting tired before but that last part took everything!
"What–what happened, senior?" He did not understand what just happened to him or his elements.
Her face scrunched up for a moment but something seemed to pass over her eyes before she relaxed.
[That room was only meant to help improve your Laws in general, but it seems you have already touched Dao for a long time. While Immortals cannot control Dao, as you experienced, it is not a single step in the Divine Realm to control Dao.]
He was nursed with an elixir by her and she helped him sit up as she continued her explanation.
[I can only give you an overview but the Divine Realm is split between 3 tiers. Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master Tiers are the names. What is important for you is that you touched on something the middle Tier would die for.] Her eyes looked at him seriously and Lind realized he had been close to death once again!
Dao was already dangerous for an Immortal to try and push for at the Sovereign Tier, just how much more dangerous would it be to skip a step to the next one at the Radiant Tier!
"Did you save me?" She shook her head as she conjured more tea for them to help him recover.
[I cannot interfere. Your strange flame, while out of control, regulated the process. You are most fortunate.] A cold sweat broke out on Lind. His harmony had regulated it. It meant that if he had been a normal Immortal, he would have burst open!
Of course, he would not have been in that state if he was a normal Immortal.
Once the elixir did its work, he attempted to summon his elements but felt resistance. It was like he was back in the Soul Realm and had to learn how to manipulate the elements all over again!
[I am unsure of how you have done it but your elements have been converted into what I would call half-step Dao elements. It should not be possible until the Apprentice Tier to start that process. It is but one aspect of their cultivation, a very minor one.]
Shock filled him on several levels. His elements were now back to 6 but were half-step Dao?! It was only 1 aspect of Divine Realm cultivation and a minor one at that?! Just what kind of power did Divine Realm cultivators wield?!
Lind downed another elixir and tried his fire element. It was the element had first mastered under Younger Twin.
He let his mind wander back to the sensation of that feeling that a Law connected them all and he slowly felt it respond. After what seemed like a long time, a tiny spark appeared in the palm of his hand.
It was all he could summon!
Yet, the power of that spark put all his past flames to shame! A concern came over him and he quickly summoned simple grade 1 ingredients.
He quickly followed the familiar steps to make an elixir but was stunned to find incredible resistance! He could not make elixirs! Forging would be in the same boat!
With some fear, he tried to make a sigil and was floored at how easy it was! Compared to his elements, the sigils seemed to happily form for him!
[Your soul has been refined in some way. Weaving is more about the soul than any ingredient you might need. I suspect if you try to make a purely elemental weaving–] The spirit suddenly stopped in shock as sigils were engraved in the air.
Fire, water, air, earth, light, and darkness all blazed in sigil form. Lind felt tired but he could make them work in his weaving! It let him get a better feel for it!
He felt a pressure on him suddenly as the spirit was looking at him grimly. He did not know what was going on but he felt no threat so let it happen.
Her face broke into an even more shocked look.
[That flame is your soul?!] That exclamation finally cleared up his own confusion.
"It would be more accurate to say it was fused to my soul. I think my harmony has become a Dao or close to one even more than before. Am I allowed to train myself for a time?" The spirit slowly nodded.
[You may use this courtyard for 1 month. After that, you must move on to the next trial or leave.] He smiled and focused on his recovery. He had to start over but at least he had a way to examine his new elements!
He doubted he could harness their full power but he at least wanted to be able to do what he used to do with ease going forward. He had a lot of work to do!
