Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1309 - 1308 - Seat at the Table

Chapter 1309 - 1308 - Seat at the Table

The former Knife Edge Bazaar had become a hub of guilds but now it was once more a barren place. The many shops were closed down and some cultivators were trapped as they could not get away.

The teleportation arrays were still working but the resources to get them to work were beyond them. It had only been a year since the attack on the Inheritance of Death. The drastic changes had revealed the depth of the tainted goods market.

Even those innocent guilds had been compromised. They had not created them but they had not even known they were selling dangerous products!

It had created a reaction that gutted the entire market and bankrupted not just the guilds but miners, plantations, and all manner of interconnected fields. The unintended consequences spiraled outwards until it finally settled.

Space was suddenly torn open as a man in crimson robes emerged with a hood drown low over his head. He was tall and broad shoulders but the emblem on his back told enough about him!

An emerald dragon! The Frey Clan!

Several more figures emerged and those that were still in the ruins of the market felt shock after shock.

Heavenly Maiden Sect! Divine Sword Sect! Serenity Sect! RIven Heart Sect!

One supreme power after another followed by the high powers that stood apart from them! There were also figures they did not recognize.

A woman with amber robes and hair but felt beastly in her aura was accompanied by a man with faintly blue robes. A few people recognized the symbol of a Fionan Empire prince but did not recognize him in particular.

There were other beasts as well but then the tear closed.

Lind saw the few stragglers left behind and waved his hand. Bags flew at each of them without missing one.

[Take the Qi stones and go. This place is no longer what it was but you need not be trapped here.] Some took up his offer while others tried to hide. They wanted to see if there were benefits to staying

A flare of his aura sent them scrambling.

"You are powerful in strange ways. You do not need a teleportation array to cross the 3rd layer. How is that possible?" A demon with well muscled arms exposed looked at him with great interest but all flinched as strange Qi danced around Lind.

He smirked as 2 more sets of elements moved around him.

"It is not so difficult. You just have to master all 3 elemental groups and refine a body to withstand any combination of them." Many arched an eyebrow or looked at him incredulously. The experts among them confirmed he was not using any artifact to achieve it either!

How could someone use the other elemental systems?!

"Enough, why have you brought us here? You invited us all with an offer to enter the new Inheritance. Why have we come here?" The haughty woman in pure white robes was the current sect master of the Heavenly Maiden Sect.

Her hair was dark but it was not brunette. She was actually extremely dark red. The color of blood in death some called it. Her eyes were like steel as she looked around her. None dared underestimate her either.

The Divine Sword Sect envoy was only an Elder but the simple sword at his side was equally misleading. He had no hair at all as he nodded with her.

"You said you would give us clarity then brought all of us here. An impressive feat but get to the point." Lind smiled at his bluntness.

He summoned a black cylinder into his hands and its aura made them all flinch. It was far more real than anything they had encountered before.

Abby appeared next to him but then hid behind him.

"It is all right, I am here with you." She carefully looked around but he then whispered in her ear. She nodded before closing her eyes. The silence stretched but none felt the need to pressure the tool spirit.

She then perked up and smiled.

"Master! I found it!" She then ran off and he followed after her. The group followed but at a measured pace. The ruins of the market were a stark reminder of the power the man that brought them here could wield if he chose to.

Martial power was enough to protect oneself but the way Lind Frey had leveled powers that attacked him made many of the group glad their plans had not reached fruition against him.

The spirit finally jumped up and down on the far side of the island. Lind smiled at her and patted her head.

He then closed his eyes and another tear in space appeared. It was much smaller and a hollow tube appeared that all had heard about.

[You have not completed a trial or inherited a legacy, Little Dragon. Why have you called me here?]

The spirit of the new tool actually felt far more powerful than any of them could ever hope to be! Even Sovereign Tiers were not like that!

"I want them to see it. That is all." They were confused. See what?

The tool seemed to think before an old man appeared next to Lind.

He saw the wisdom deep in the spirit's eyes. LInd saw the future of Abby.

"Why? Give me a good reason." Lind held out his hand to the ruined market.

"I destroyed what was but if given time, it can return. The people that betrayed your expectations could rise back up to power. They never truly go away." Lind knew that losing money and power only made such people more desperate to claw it back again.

He needed to cut it off and finally free his Clan from threats.

The spirit seemed to understand before slowly nodding.

"Give me the cipher key." Lind frowned. Abby looked afraid and held onto his sleeve. The old man looked sternly at her before sighing. "Touch the cipher and the resonator then. It will be enough."

The hollow tube floated over and he did as instructed. The instant they touched the world shifted. The edge of the island grew! It expanded until a massive doorway appeared with pillars on either side.

It towered over them for easily up to 100 meters! It was not solid and there seemed to be more but the hollow tube snapped away.

"Enough. They have seen it. I go." The old man vanished and the tube was gone! Lind smirked but Abby was hiding in his arms. He was holding her tight as she shivered.

"I don't want to! I don't want to!" He knew she would be changed if they fully integrated the 2 artifacts. Together, they were the key to the last Inheritance.

"You never have to. I am not going to be able to get in this one so you will never be used for it." He comforted her. He suspected what might happen if the 2 artifacts were united but they were not unique.

He already confirmed with both Inheritance spirits that there were multiple artifacts but it required qualified individuals to wield them. While Lind could impose a bit as he just had, he still would not have been allowed to enter.

"What was that?! Why was it so much more powerful than the other 2 reported?!" A man with a golden horn protruding from his forehead suddenly spoke up. His robes were a mix of tan and white but all knew he was a powerful Immortal beast.

"That was a glimpse of the 3rd Inheritance. The duality of creation and death unlock a third. I suspected it was here for a few reasons but then it was confirmed when I studied a few things." He then conjured a massive table and erected complex weavings to isolate the large group.

They all took a seat and were stunned as he summoned tea for them all that just the scent of it invigorated their dantians!

"You know the full conditions to unlock it?" Lind nodded as the bestial person spoke again.

"However, I am restricted from revealing more than what you just saw. The reason I am able to do so was due to the recent violation done at the Inheritance of Death. Now that you all know the stakes, I assume such issues will stop?" His eyes noticed a few flinches at his question.

Even after everything that happened, greed blinded them to what they could lose unless they saw what could be taken from them if they were foolish. It was why he brought them all together.

Only a year had gone by and Shoti already saw signs of those trying to restore the status quo or infiltrate their Clan businesses to sabotage them. He could not focus on his cultivation since they would keep coming until he bought time for the younger generation to become more powerful Immortals.

"As you know, no one currently holds the other artifact officially from the Inheritance of Creation. Given what you just saw, this piece of land will become critical. Rather than fight over it, I suggest we simply carve it up and let guilds and support shops take residence here." Some frowned at his words but could not outright reject it.

Lind sipped at his tea before he put an elixir on the table. It shimmered with golden sigils and all felt a profound aura coming from it.

"Lad, what is that? It seems to shift colors but it is not just elements, is it?" Lind smiled at the bald Divine Sword Sect envoy. He nodded before uncorking the vial and just let a whiff of the elixir spread across the table.

Instantly, all the Immortals felt their Laws deepen and their cultivation advance! First the tea, now the elixir!

"I am the only person in the world that can make this. It is the limit of my ability and takes 5 years of resources to produce what I need to make it. That will decrease in time but for the moment I have exactly 10 of these. There are 4 doses per vial and are most effective for Crystal and Radiant Tier Immortals." None needed him to say more.

Advancing in the Immortal Realm was a test of patience, endurance, and skill. Comprehending Laws become increasingly difficult, especially when trying to make the final step to a Sovereign Tier. They all felt the elixir in front of them was a treasure they had to have!

"What are your requests?" The Heavenly Maiden Sect Master was no longer arrogant or aloof. She was deadly serious. All were shocked when 4 vials were sent out to the Heavenly Maiden Sect, the Divine Sword Sect, Serenity Sect, and the couple from the 2nd layer.

"When my Clan was in dire need, your powers helped them. Further, you have reaped the karma of your lower branches past actions. Use them as you will." He then turned to the rest. "The rest of you, I only ask that you help me secure this land and set up an auction house not tied to any power. It will become its own in time but for the moment, it needs to be neutral. I do not want further wars and bloodshed over what will be revealed here. Enough of us have been destroyed and another disruption could bring all of us down."

They all became solemn at his words. Neutrality was a rare thing in the cultivation world. There may be places to have meetings but that was all they were, places.

They all realized he could have hidden it from them and monopolized the empty island. No one would know until it was too late but he was avoiding future troubles by offering his proposal.

They would all have a seat at the future table and could not argue against him at all!
