Chapter 1307 - 1306 - Lind Frey Revealed
Chapter 1307 - 1306 - Lind Frey Revealed
The special realms varied no matter where they were in any world. Some were trial realms built to encourage the next generations to improve while others were more like a refuge to hide away to focus on cultivation.
The realm by the Broken Silver Cliffs was once a legendary place to find rare herbs, plants, and even a few crystal farms. The soulless assault had decimated it but it was not something they found useful once it was made barren.
Once the cultivators returned, the Silver Crow Sect had been able to become the steward as the cliffs were not useful to the guilds. It was better to make others do the labor for them.
It was ironic that the supreme powers did not realize the golden goose was inside that special realm.
At the time the Inheritance of Death arose, the Inheritance of Creation also emerged. Unlike the former, the latter was hidden by the sealed entrance of the special realm.
The Silver Crow Sect saw their chance to rise!
The Laws governing the Inheritance were much more common too! There were still other hurdles but the Sect Master was able to claim a control cipher. It was a hollow cylinder with arcane markings none of them understood but the Inheritance spirit confirmed they now had a control artifact to prove they held the admittance to the Inheritance.
The Sect Master, hair streaked with pure white strands, was trying his hardest to pick up the artifact from his desk. The stone desk was not of the highest quality but it was more than enough for his purposes.
He had several swords and spears held around the room that was fairly bare bones compared to what most sect masters would have.
"Come on! Obey me! I am your master!" His voice was creaking as if he had been shouting for quite some time. He was so focused on his task that he did not hear the screams nor felt the disruption in the Qi of his formations.
It was only when the double doors to his office disintegrated that he finally looked up annoyed.
"How dare you int–" His voice choked off as he saw the person standing in his doorway.
Lind Frey was well known by then. His emerald hair aside, it was his eyes many remembered. The reptilian coldness when focused on someone stayed with them forever.
His robes were not his normal ones used for ceremonies or representing the clan, but the infamous gray version he wore in his days fighting the soulless.
They were battle robes!
"Your son is dead. Your clan is mostly dead. Also, and I feel this is somewhat being picky, your fortress is destroyed but you did not seem to notice much." The cold words were like a bucket of ice water over him.
His son, dead?! His Clan, dead?! Impossible! They were millions and the man in front of him was not known to be so vindictive.
"You lie! You are not so monstrous a being!" A sad smile spread on Lind's face. The pitying look enraged him.
"You have no idea the depth of blood on my hands. Still, you are right in that I do not kill wantonly. I walked through the battles outside. I saved the children I could but that was all I could do. I am afraid you have deeper issues than you realized." A pit opened in his stomach.
The fractious nature of the Clan was well known to him but it had never crossed the bottom line. Surely things had not gotten that bad?!
"Imposs–" As he was about to deny it, the tube finally reacted. It floated in the air to be in front of Lind Frey!
[You are the owner of the cipher key?] Lind looked as surprised as him but then narrowed his emerald eyes.
"I was granted the privilege of monitoring the Inheritance, yet. I mostly keep people from wasting their lives." The words infuriated the sect master. He knew they monopolized the Inheritance unlike any power ever before.
[Good. You are aware of your reality. This fool has prevented me from finding my Inheritor for too long. Further, his bloodline violated the covenant between my creator and the other. He has forfeited the rights to the Inheritance.]
The Silver Crow Sect Master felt his knees go weak. His son was not that stupid! He could not be that stupid! He was warned repeatedly about actions he could not take inside a Divine Inheritance!
Lind Frey bowed to the artifact. How could he be so humble to a measly spirit?!
"I am merely here for him. His Clan has ripped itself apart and it seems his enemies and allies both have come for what they can get. Do you have any wish for me to convey to them?" Coward! He was just a coward!
The Sect Master saw the truth of the sniveling dragon in front of him. What grand Divine Progenitor? What Triple Maester? He just got lucky! That was all! It was clearly pure luck!
The Sect Master went to summon his greatest weapon but suddenly found it would not answer him! The weapons were all his spirit bonded tools but now none responded! Why?!
Lind Frey glanced at him in pity again.
"I am afraid they no longer answer to you. The spirit in this tool is far above them. If they have abandoned you, it was at his order." Shock filled him once more. Such a thing was possible?!
"I am their Master! They are my tools! They will obey me!" The Silver Crow Sect Master felt his anger overflow but suddenly the room felt small. He was a high Radiant Tier, near the top of the 3rd layer, but now he felt like an ant!
He looked over and found an emerald glow around Lind Frey. A massive shape slowly formed before scales appeared on his skin. The aura only increased and he was slammed to his knees.
What was going on?!
Lind Frey took a single step and all the stone flooring shattered into powder! The roof vanished the next instant as a mighty tail smashed it away.
It took a moment for him to grasp that a massive maw was now staring him down as the chaos from outside stopped. Silence stretched out but he saw the smoke rising across the compound.
It was truly destroyed! He saw various signs of intra-sect fighting so Lind Frey had not lied!
He also saw signs of the supreme sects as their members were healing up from the battles. They had betrayed him!
All of it did not matter as the aura kept getting stronger! How could he be so strong?!
[I will say this to you before you die. People are not tools. The spirits born in our creations are children of cultivators. I already came to kill you but now, it is personal to me.] Lind Frey's giant maw began to glow.
It was only then that he saw the various weapons and artifacts were safely floating behind the dragon head! His mane shimmered with Qi as it created sigils at a speed none could follow.
A dome appeared and the Silver Crow Sect Master was engulfed in a blaze but not allowed to die easily. He felt horrific pain not just in his body but his soul! He would not be allowed to survive as a soul!
"N–n–no! Spare me! I did nothing!" The cylinder suddenly glowed golden and sealed his fate.
[You hid my existence from the entire layer. Others suspected but you killed them. You obstructed my purpose to help fight the Great One and the Fiends. How should you be viewed now?]
The words spread to all and their looks hardened on their faces.
The flames increased in intensity as stone was turned to glass! The sinuous dragon that towered over him stopped burning him.
His body was barely holding together as it was nearly melted and his soul was also little more than a spark, but he was still aware.
[In your next life, perhaps you should live more humbly.] Lind Frey's voice was the last thing he heard as a flash of emerald claimed his life.

Lind calmed himself as he returned to his human form. The various Immortals and Heaven Realm cultivators that survived the chaotic battle he walked through did not even dare move as he turned to look at them.
"Senior spirit, what do you wish to do?" He noticed some interesting facets of the hollow tube artifact. It was just the right size for his cipher cylinder and that could not be a coincidence.
The artifact flared before the spirit spoke to them all once more.
[The humans have betrayed my maker's intentions. Thus, they have forfeit the right to wield me. The demons colluded with them as well. Thus they are barred. The aether and Elementals may come to claim me if they wish but if you are willing, True Lord, I will be wielded by you.]
Lind contemplated but then shook his head.
"I have not earned the right, nor will I be able to retain control of the special realm. I will be happy to be an arbitrator until a new owner can be found." Lind was tempted. He would be lying if he said he was not curious about the 3rd Inheritance.
Yet, his experience told him it was a test. The artifact flared and clear approval was felt by all.
[You are worthy to enter the Inheritance. Your Clan has my permission to enter as well as those you deem fit to do so. Be warned all! If you test me again, the Inheritances will vanish forever from your worlds!]
With that, the artifact vanished. Likely it was back wherever the Silver Crow Sect Master had found it last time.
Lind winced as all the looks changed around him. Greed, ambition, and general annoyance was coming once more to his doorstep! He sighed before looking at the weapons still held in his aura.
"I will take you to a place to recover. You will not be forced to have new masters until you are ready. I so swear." With that, he shocked all as space was casually torn open and he stepped away!
None could even feel where he went! The survivors noticed a building was ripped up and vanished with him. None of them had been able to breach those walls and suspected the children that had seemingly all disappeared at once were inside.
Lind Frey was unrelenting but not ruthless. He was revealed as a true powerhouse to those that had only heard rumors. The Frey Clan had to weather new storms but now it seemed they would be tempered with far greater caution.
