Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1257 - 1256 - Chaos vs Dao

Chapter 1257 - 1256 - Chaos vs Dao

Lind spent a massive chunk of his time testing the limits of the 2 large scars. He noticed they were practically the same size and exact mirrors of each other. They were different, however.

The top one had the feeling of Divine Realm aura but the lower one did not. He noticed the smaller scars followed a similar pattern. Still, he could examine them with ease but the larger scars both had effects on him.

The lower scar tried to disperse him! He was too powerful for it was like he had descended to a lower realm world. As a soul, that would be a death sentence.

The soul could not be maintained below the Heaven Realm lands and even in that area, it was very fragile compared to the Celestial Fields.

It was far easier to escape the lower scar, however, where the upper scar took everything he had if he got too close.

The spirits stayed too far away for the range he needed to study it. He constructed complex weavings and was shocked that they were far more powerful than before. It was not just his foundation but the power of Dao leaking from the scar.

It actually made it far easier to engrave sigils in the air itself! He found that fascinating but did not push his luck beyond testing the endurance of his weavings.

Shockingly, the normal chaos of the spirit world could not touch a certain range around the scar. It was not totally immune to it, but highly resistant.

He expected the lower scar to have the same issue he had before with maintaining his weavings personally but shockingly a similar effect occurred.

He took far longer to grasp why but he realized it was the very rules of Heaven and Earth working in his favor. Weavings did not fade in the lower worlds like they did in the spirit world!

They were only as strong as he was but it was still a helpful effect.

Once that was established, he began to study the scars. It was not easy as he only had healing formations and weavings to start with. Souls could be damaged and cultivators all the way down to the Soul Realm had studied how to heal such damage if possible.

His own experience was not pleasant as it required extraordinary efforts and resources to save Shoti. Qi deviation or any kind of severe backlash was far more easily dealt with yet was still difficult.

He started with evaluation of the scars as soul damage. It was a generic term as it covered everything from weakening to rapid aging of vitality. Still, it would give him information.

And oh boy, did it give him information. It flooded the weavings to the point they overloaded and burst apart!

He scaled back and started with the smaller scars. He did one at a time and still was stunned when his sigils were strained to breaking point by even the smallest scar at 2 kilometers long.

It was even a lower scar that should theoretically be weaker but it was almost too much!

He did not understand what was wrong until he finally got some data. What he found left him floored.

It was not a simple thing at all, not even close!

The scars were tears into the fabric of all reality. It was like something had completely disrupted the fundamental forces and they could never properly heal as the damage was ongoing.

There was some small sign of recovery but it was negligible. It was also very recent from what he could tell and he drew some parallels.

Fiend Qi. It was an ongoing scourge that was actively hurting the spirit world! It had caused the original damage when the entire race of Celestials was punished. The very mechanism that allowed cultivation had been turned against it!

It was contrary to what everything should be. Yet, there had been a change. He knew of one change that had allowed Celestials to start being born again.

His direct interference in the world. His harmony had allowed the balance to shift but he was confused. Why was it not stronger in the lower scar? It had been thousands of years but it was barely any dent at all.

It was new, sure, but it seemed to have far less impact than he would have expected. The Celestial Qi in the spirit world should have been resonating and exponentially speeding up the process, yet that did not seem to be happening.

It was like the Fiend Qi was drowning out the healing effect despite the power of the spirit world. He noted it down but that was not the only issue he was dealing with.

The main problem was the sheer mountain of information he barely felt with his own senses. His weavings picked up far more details and energy than he could as a soul or in his old body.

It was simply far beyond anything the weavings were designed for but it was only 1 part of the issue.

The other part was the shifting state of the spirit world constantly wearing away at his weavings as well. There was only 1 exception, the upper large scar.

The power of Dao clearly could impose order even in the spirit world. He spent a very long time absorbing the sensation and pushing his weavings to new limits. His achievement of reaching the high Radiant Tier had allowed him to push his profession forward.

His lack of materials was easily remedied by the spirit world itself. Once he incorporated what he needed into his weavings, they held. It also improved if he brought it near the upper scar as well. It made the effect endure far more than before.

Once he gauged how much information was streaming from the scars, he was able to narrow down his focus. He had to filter out the chaos of the spirit world and get his weavings to endure more strain from the scars.

The latter was easier than the former. Improving capacity and endurance of his sigils was a bit of work but easily doable. The chaos of the spirit world was the higher hurdle.

He was able to overpower it for a time but it needed his constant input. The only thing he learned as he pushed his weaving forward was that his pseudo-Dao Forging attempt came back to him.

Once that was applied solely to his weaving, the chaos was mitigated massively. The power of Dao was stunning even as he just barely touched on it. The more he delved into it the more he realized how terrifying the next step of professions would be.

Just to make a single weaving at that level exhausted him entirely. The spirit world was just that resistant to his attempts. He persevered until he could make 2 weavings back to back but that was the limit.

It took months in her perception to set up enough weavings to observe the large scar in front of him. By the time he finished the last one, the first one had to be repaired. It became a game of whack-a-mole at that point as he gathered data.

It was a tedious and arduous process at the same time. The spirit children kept trying to distract him with games but he had to explain several times that if he left he would have to start over.

They saw his weaving was collapsing even as he tried to repair it. They wanted to help but instead of helping, the spirits sped up the collapse!

It seemed the chaos of the spirit world was at their command directly! It was a new discovery that set him back a bit by accident. Rather than get angry, though, it made him realize a possibility.

The reason spirits were part of Heaven and Earth was the balance the spirits needed to interact with the cultivation world. Pure chaos merged with Dao made a stable existence.

He filed it away as it might help with later experiments. As he finally got some raw data from the larger scars he became deeply concerned. The small scars were persistent damage marks left in the spirit world but they were stable.

They did not grow nor change.

The large scars, however, were growing! It was very slow but it was expanding. That was a problem as he grasped what the Great One was doing. He was actually following through on his threat!

Fiend Qi was destroying the spirit world! If the Great One achieved his goal of reaching the peak of the Divine Realm, he could destroy Heaven and Earth!

He now grasped why it was so important to Heaven and Earth to grow champions to fight the Fiends. It was literally fighting for its life and the life of all existence under it!

He also realized one more issue thanks to the data. He had been right before, his body had been re-growing randomly. Some of it might have been Immortal but the rest of it was across the spectrum of realms.

It meant he had to figure out a balanced way to use it to create his body while at the same time enduring tribulations. He still knew that obstacle was ahead of him but it might be in a different way.

Rather than all the tribulations since the Gold Tier to the Radiant Tier, he might just have to face a single grand tribulation. He was unsure but for the moment he had to study all the data and see if it led to any conclusions for his next steps.

Hope bloomed in him as all the risk was on him but he had a real chance of getting his body back at last!
