Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1049 - 1048 - Divine Shadow Tiger

Chapter 1049 - 1048 - Divine Shadow Tiger

The now fully formed tiger bared its fangs at him but powerful bands of light cocooned the platform and Priestess Chu.  His previously shattered wards sprung back into existence as well to reinforce the structure.

The beast looked around yet said nothing as it tried to bleed back into the shadows.

"That no longer works!"  His words accompanied his burst of speed to cross the room.  Emerald scales covered his form as he slammed into the flesh of the beast.  It roared in pain but another element finally reared its head.

Blue flame!

The claws burned with it and ripped his robes to pieces like they were rags.  It was still ridiculously powerful but his body was no longer so easy to injure.

[You coward!  You tricked me!]  Lind sneered as he blurred to all sight before slamming his tail into the back of the tiger.  It did not have the desired result!

The back felt like steel!

"Shadow fur, blue flame claws, and metal bones.  You really are a divine beast."  He was calm but the dark eyes of the tiger narrowed before its tail sent him flying.  The wards flared to life but did not break!

[You will die here!  Your defilement of my descendant will fail!]  How stupid could the tigers be!  Defilement?!  Was it blind?!

Emerald flames flew from his mouth that finally did some damage!

The fur was singed and pain pricked a bit but that was all!  Even as an ancestral spirit, it was ridiculously powerful!

[Die!]  Despite saying that word over and over, it could not kill him.  Some rule was stopping it, but he had no time to ponder what or why.

Lind was tossed around like a ragdoll once more but fighting back every centimeter he could get!

His scales cracked at some point but were still able to repair.  The tiger was enraged at its inability to wound him much and started going all out at last.

All 6 demonic elements blazed but what shocked him was a feeling he recognized in his blood.

Pure white tiger essence!  He would recognize it anywhere!  What was going on?!

How could a white tiger, a natural element beast, become demonic?  Lind had no time to ponder as ghostly claws appeared around the tiger,  It now had 8 limbs to attack him with!

He was slammed over and over again into the wards but his own Storm Arts blasted back.  The various lightning and wind effects were useful to give him some breathing room but they were scratches at best!

He was just really annoying the beast spirit!

At some point, Lind was by the cocoon heaving breath heavily as his crystal was practically drained of all his Qi and Laws.  The beast hardly seemed winded but its anger was replaced with a new emotion.

Respect.

[You are not a snake.  You truly are a dragon.  Why did you not use your True Lord authority to command me?]  Lind's eyes bulged out in anger.

"Would that have made a difference?!  This is not an unfair punishment nor a crime being committed.  I am transforming her bloodline against your nature.  You are within your rights to fight!"  It was why he took all the precautions he had.

Unlike with the Sky Panther that had exceeded its authority, the current tiger was responding to his attempt to wipe the origin from Priestess Chu's blood.  Only an idiot would abuse their power in such a circumstance.

The massive tiger shimmered and a robust but finely dressed man now stood before him.  His clothes closely resembled a suit lined in azure blue at the lapels.  Golden streaks were in his black as midnight hair as dark lavender skin was contrasted by pure white eyes!

He was not blind!  They were white tiger eyes!

[I am the Divine Shadow Tiger.  What line are you?]  Lind froze.  He had no such name.  Nothing came to him because he was still in the midst of creating his race.

"I am Progenitor Lind Frey.  I am a Divine Dragon and a True Lord of Dragons."  He paused but added the last part.  "I am a dragon soul."

The white eyes flared but then slowly nodded.

[Of course, you are forging your path.  A powerful one but honorable.  I sense it.  It is a pity.  I would have liked to see you grow.]  Instinct flared but Lind suddenly felt his own blood boil!

His scales vanished as his body began to burn from the inside out.

[You were correct.  I cannot kill you.  If I was just a normal Divine Beast, I would be restricted from acting, but like you, I am more.  I am !@()$&)%$$] He felt his head nearly explode!  It was not the time for it as something was acting on him he did not expect!

He tried to use his harmony, elements, Laws, and anything but it was like all of it was cut off!

A sad look passed over the man as he slowly stepped forward as Lind began to fall to his knees.

[I will save my family.  Your desire to restore them will be honored, but your transgression will be punished.  Never fear, you can be reborn.  Your next life will likely be dull or blessed depending on karma, but that is up to the spirits.]  It was not angry but Lind felt anger.

He was trying to save a life.  He got consent.  He was always toyed with by these powerful cultivators but they acted like it was their right to do so!

A war was raging that claimed innocent lives while the Fiends slowly killed the entire 2nd layer.  The rest of the world was trapped outside it so the issue of being stuck remained!

Worse, what if the Great One could recreate the Realm Refiner?  Would the restrictions stopping so many others stop his forces?  What if he just exerted himself a bit and refined the Celestial Fields when he got the chance?

His fears surfaced for the first time and something shifted in his soul.  It was not cultivation or anything he had learned but it was a shift that gave him an anchor.  He understood it was something fundamental about himself.

He would never bow!  He would never give in to higher forces no matter what!  If he wanted the life of peace he dreamed of where his family could grow and prosper safely, he could not wait for strength.

He had to act!

His arm weakly touched the cocoon next to him and while everything within felt like it was falling apart on a basic level, his eyes stared at the tiger in defiance.

"Go to Hell!"  A sigil flared at his presence.  The cocoon that had been wrapped around the platform opened like a bubble before ensnaring the man!  He looked remarkably unconcerned at the restraints with a tired sigh.

[I am impressed you could make one final act.  A true pit–]  Surprise suddenly flared on his face as something was wrong.  The strange burning in Lind's body halted instantly and all his strength came flooding back.

He was on all fours and heaving breath, but he was alive!

The wards lit up all at once as the weaving finally activated.  He had not expected the last attack but he finally found an opening to use his trap!

[WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!]  Lind slowly looked up and smiled at the panicked face of the tiger.  It could not transform or hurt him anymore.

"You forgot what you are.  You think of yourself as alive but you are just a memory.  Her memory to be precise."  His finger pointed at the Priestess but she was no longer floating.  She was whole and alive!

She was looking at the spirit in anger as she stood up on her own.  Her own clothes were nothing but rags but at that moment she was a goddess.  Her once straw yellow hair and fur were now as dark as night.

They were not just a different color, they were infused with Qi!  Shadow Qi!

"Great Lord, I thank you for your concern, but you have threatened my savior and now mate.  You have no further power here."  The spirit instantly stumbled in its restraints.

[NO!  You are mine!  You cannot do this!]  Priestess Chu's tiger ears flared in anger as her vertically slit violet and emerald eyes were cold.  She had scales appear but they were unlike anything Lind had seen before.

A demonic dragon?  Tiger?  What was she now?

"The battle is over, you forgot yourself and must go back now.  Die!"  A massive tree suddenly appeared behind her that made both Lind and the tiger slam into the ground!  It was not even directed at him and had such power?!

[Shadow Maiden?!  HOW?!]  Lind caught the words but had no time to ask as a massive spear slammed into the tiger's heart!  It looked down in shock at the dark shaft before it slowly looked up at Lind smiling.

[I almost think I would be more merciful.  On your own head be it.  I bless your union.]  Lind gasped as something slammed into his soul.  It tried to change him!

His own harmony flared and shattered the restraint entirely.  A smirk crossed the man's face as he slowly broke apart and faded to nothing.

The pressure vanished as gentle arms picked him up off the floor.  He was being carried in a princess style!

"Husband.  Thank you."  Lind was about to talk when he realized she was not stopping!  She laid him on the platform and began to disrobe!  He tried to talk but she did not seem to care!  The look on her face made his instincts scream at him to run!

"Wai–"  It was the last noise he could make before she overwhelmed him.  What happened after that shattered the wards entirely!  He screamed internally but nothing he tried stopped her!

At some point he gave up and let his own instincts take over.  He was already a dead man, it was just a question who killed him first.  His new mate or his wives.
