Chapter 1048 - 1047 - Bloodline Domination
Chapter 1048 - 1047 - Bloodline Domination
Lind had used many methods to heal severely injured people. His own elixirs combined with his harmony had always produced stunning results most of the time but aside from the harmony alone, he only had seen one option have surefire results.
His blood.
To be sure, it was only usable by other beasts as humans or demons would be ripped apart if he tried to use it on them. The reason being that divine beast bloodlines hold the vitality to restore and invigorate the latent potential in various beasts.
There were several issues with it, of course. Compatibility was important but so was something far more critical, trust.
The subject and giver had to trust each other. He had researched records where humans had tried to breed more powerful beasts on their own and had disastrous results.
It seemed the race memory tied to powerful races actively reacted negatively to experiments with trying to refine other races into more powerful forms. Pills and elixirs could use them for such an effect but the refined items never had anywhere close to the result direct donation could pull off.
Lanbao had gone through a massive transformation not just because she was a flood dragon but because of the personal bond between them.
That also brought up the other issue.
Assuming the 2 subjects were not related, there was only 1 result from sharing blood most of the time.
It made the pair a mate. There were a few more exceptions but varied by race.
The only one that applied to him was intent. Illyria had become his niece by blood due to how they viewed their bond. It was also the fact he helped her be born as well. While that was a basic biological face of life, Heaven and Earth recognized that act as well.
It was apparently well documented too!
Many beasts had helped other races come into the world to later share their blood and formed a familial bond of sibling, parent, and so forth.
There was one last hurdle though related to 4 particular races.
Dragons, phoenix, black shelled tortoise, and white tigers bloodlines.
His experience in the past up to the present only saw those interactions get stronger as the realm of a cultivator increased.
The problem came from him in the current situation.
He had a vendetta with the white tigers. While he had faced it head on and settled it for the most part, it remained that he had been an enemy of a variant of true white tiger clan members.
The Sky Panthers may not be pure, but if he tried to use his blood to help Priestess Chu, it would likely not go as well as it had with Illyria and Lanbao.
He had no choice, however, given the severity of her situation. She wanted to live but his elixirs, weavings, and artifacts were weakened by the accursed tainted Qi in the current world.
His harmonic cleansing left only his body intact. Anything else he tried to use, even with his harmony, would suffer resistance due to the Corruption.
He did reinforce the natural cavern walls as what he was about to do would have dramatic side effects even if it went well.
Sigils glowed as Laws were woven together until power on par with a Law Binding took effect. He had noticed since leaving the Ruin that his production skills and general Law applications had become immensely more efficient.
Each of the Laws he studied also became closer to full comprehension. He could not fully grasp how he knew that, but he felt it.
The walls now shimmered with the wards as he returned to the floating form of Priestess Chu. He took a breath as he knew he was about to face something primordial.
He was a progenitor, so unlike with Lanbao that shared the dragon bloodline with him, the process would be far from smooth.
It would reach the deepest part of her bloodline and likely awaken something far more fearsome than the Sky Panther.
"I am about to begin. There will be pain but fight it. Fight to see Jur again." He barely saw her nod before he transformed his own left hand into claws and scales.
It slit open his skin as blood flowed from his injury onto her open wounds. It did not simply flow over her like a liquid but sought to enter her body. It was instinctively asserting its dominance.
Dark veins began to appear before all of her body lit up! A violet glow spread from small emerald islands throughout her body. He looked on but knew he was not simply going to be an observer.
As if his thought summoned it, pain lanced his soul!
The world became dark for a moment as something massive emerged from her body!
[WHO DARES?!] The roar of a tiger, much stronger than the white tiger clan he had met in the 1st layer, shook the room. His wards actually creaked from that alone!
Lind blinked his eyes only to realize he had lost one! His body was bleeding profusely and he had only felt the pressure?!
Just what had he challenged?
He concentrated his own vitality to speed up his healing as he saw a massive dark cloud and was shocked to see demonic Qi! It was shadow Qi!
A demonic divine beast?! Did such a thing exist?!
Demonic beasts were usually the result of exposure to demonic Qi for millions of years. Once the shift happened, those beasts became extremely violent but precious resources for demonic powers.
Lind had dealt with many such beasts but they had become more rare as he advanced. Part of the issue was their violence nature often led to extinction or harsh restrictions put on them.
The other part was that they refused to live with natural Qi beasts even after gaining sentience. It was not impossible that many demons were actually beasts transformed!
Still, the rules remained the same. Once they reached the Heaven Realm, they would need to incorporate the missing demonic elements to their cores.
So why was he only seeing profound shadow Qi on par with a Divine Realm?! He could only make the comparison after living in 2 Divine Inheritances. He had zero idea beyond that of what he was facing.
[Sniveling snake! You try to steal one of my descendents?!] The voice was quieter but no less powerful! Lind felt like he had been slammed into a mountain as he was flung across the room into his own wards!
Blood flew from his mouth as his insides were nearly ruptured! His own bones, capable of smashing mountains without a scratch, were cracking!
His remaining eye suddenly glowed and his own aura flared in full. He made sure to be careful of the Priestess but only in that she was protected as much as he could.
"This is how you thank someone trying to save her life?!" He did not use his authority as a True Lord as he knew it would not work on the current foe. He felt a higher authority somehow coming from it!
[If they are too weak to live, then they die! That is the way!] A vein throbbed in his skull at the similar attitude of the white tigers he had faced before.
"Is it also the way not to openly reveal yourself to your foe? Or have the White Tigers become so cowardly in their rise to power?" It was the wrong choice.
The room tilted as his arm was ripped from its socket! It was so casual that he did not even detect an attack!
[YOU DARE TO COMPARE ME TO THOSE FOOLS?!] His stomach collapsed as his left leg was twisted by sheer force alone! He felt no impact and the pain was honestly horrifying at that point but he forced himself to stay awake.
He weakly used his remaining left arm to prop himself up as his body slowly recovered. His healing was being impeded somehow!
[Oh? You did not pass out nor has that defiance faded from your eye? Good, a snake should be proud in death!] Lind felt like his body was barely answering his call but he only smiled at the mass of shadow Qi.
"Death? Oh, I don't think so. If you could kill me, you already would have. You are but an irritated grouch snarling as his bloodline is over written. I chose to save her life and she chose to endure the pain of my blood. I have bigger things to deal with than some blustering doddard of an ancestral spirit!" Lind let his anger vent but then felt his wards shatter like glass.
He finally felt something solid pushing into him as he slowly opened his eye.
A shimmering coat of fur he could barely distinguish was on a paw as big as his upper torso! The claws were on either side of his head as a snout of a massive tiger finally appeared.
It was covered in shadow Qi, pure shadow Qi!
[A snake, no matter their status, should know better than to anger the origin of life. We are not–] An emerald tail suddenly slammed into the side of the tiger and sent if flying across the room.
The defunct wards meant the wall shattered like so much glass as the tiger was put through it.
"You finally showed up. Took long enough." An elixir finally appeared with Haro who gave it to him. His body was restored in an instant as the tiger roared. Unlike before, he barely felt it.
"It is unwise to do this, Master but there is no other way to save her. I wish you luck." Haro smirked as he vanished once more. Lind then turned to face his opponent.
[You tricked me!] The anger was clear but also some respect. Lind only shrugged as he looked at Priestess Chu. The emerald islands had grown but the violet had become stronger.
"I have never faced your specific kind before but if you are both demon and tiger, open combat is your desire. So let us fight!" He launched himself forward and the battle for bloodline domination began!
