It didn’t take too long of a wait as there weren’t any other customers in the inn.
The aroma from the food filled the air when the waiters brought the food out from the kitchen and it smelled great.
Lin Xuan Qi glanced at the dishes when they were placed onto the table.
The meat and other ingredients looked fresh and he couldn’t wait to have a try at the dishes.
Using his chopsticks, he picked up some of the roasted chicken.
Crunch.
He was immediately greeted with the crunch of the roasted chicken’s skin when he took a bite out of it.
Then, the oil beneath the skin filled his mouth and the tenderness of the meat was just so good.
"How is it?" The inn keeper who was standing beside him looked on anxiously and asked.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and said, "Much better than I expected."
"That’s good to hear, try the other ones, I assure you that they are just as good." The inn keeper gestured with his hands and said to him.
Lin Xuan Qi picked up some of the braised fish to his mouth and he was equally impressed with it.
He had a sip of the tea and glanced around the surroundings.
The inn was located at one of the busiest streets in Hong Feng City and if it wasn’t for the battle between the Sima Family and Six Pulse Sword Sect, the inn would have been crowded with customers by now.
It was time for him to make the offer.
Opportunities like this don’t come often and he must make good use of it.
In a way, he would be taking over some of the businesses from the Sima Family when they aren’t doing too great and are in need.
But to Lin Xuan Qi, it was only business and he would be paying market rate for the businesses he planned to buy anyway.
So, it wasn’t as if he was taking advantage of the Sima Family.
"It’s good so far. But it would be such a pity if you can’t survive this." Lin Xuan Qi said and pointed at the empty eating area.
The inn keeper frowned as it was what he had been worried about for the whole day.
There weren’t any customers so far except for Lin Xuan Qi.
"It might be the winter.. or due to what happened recently..." The inn keeper tried to think of an excuse and mumbled softly to Lin Xuan Qi.
Lin Xuan Qi felt that the time was right and he asked, "Who is the owner of the place?"
"Owner of the place?"
"Yes, I would like to make a deal with him."
"I... I will get someone to find him." The inn keeper glanced over at one of the waiters, and the waiter bowed at him before he got out of the inn.
It didn’t take too long for the waiter to come back with someone familiar, whom Lin Xuan Qi didn’t expect to be the owner.
Liu Shao was equally surprised to see that it was Lin Xuan Qi.
"Brother Xuan Qi, long time no see." Liu Shao cupped his hands at Lin Xuan Qi and said.
"It’s you. Come have a seat and join me for the meal." Lin Xuan Qi said with a smile and gestured for Liu Shao to take a seat beside him.
After taking a seat, Liu Shao gave out a sigh and said, "I thought that it was the Six Pulse Sword Sect asking for trouble again."
"I apologize for that. Here, let’s have a drink first." Lin Xuan Qi poured a cup of tea for Liu Shao, handed it over to him and proposed a toast to Liu Shao with his own.
Liu Shao returned the toast and said, "Things are fine for you so far?"
"I was lucky this time, I guess. The factories aren’t damaged but the production for the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence has to be stopped due to the lack of ingredients." Lin Xuan Qi replied and briefed him on what was happening for the essence.
"I understand. It’s fine though. I might have to lower the orders for it for the next few months anyway." Liu Shao nodded his head and gave out another long sigh.
"Too bad that my family isn’t as lucky. They’ve damaged several of our inns, including this one..."
He glanced at the area where it was damaged in the inn.
With their businesses heavily affected, he had to go slow on the order for the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded at him and said, "For the inn, I do have an offer to make..."
"Offer?"
"Yes, I was wondering if it is for sale?" He asked and waited for Liu Shao’s reply.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I’m pretty sure about it."
Liu Shao lowered his head and pondered for a moment.
Lin Xuan Qi took a sip of the tea and he felt that he might have a chance at it since Liu Shao didn’t reject him on the spot.
He was right with his hunch.
Liu Shao lifted his head, glanced at him after some moments and said, "I can make the decision but it might cost you a little."
"How much?" Lin Xuan Qi had around three hundred over taels of gold with him and if it didn’t go over a hundred and fifty taels of gold, he would be willing to take over the inn from Liu Shao.
"A hundred and sixty taels of gold." Liu Shao replied and he pondered on it for a little while.
The inn keeper was looking very anxious with sweat on his forehead in the chills of the winter.
He had gotten a customer and now his job might be at risk...
"Liu Shao, me and the others..." The inn keeper bowed at Liu Shao and he tried to keep their jobs in the inn.
Lin Xuan Qi saw the inn keeper’s anxious look and he made his offer, "One hundred and fifty taels of gold and I will keep them here in the inn."
It would save him the time to find new workers and the taste of the food might not be as good anyway.
So it wouldn’t be a burden for Lin Xuan Qi to take them in after he bought the inn.
