Chapter 407 - 357: Is Your Mouth Blessed? (Second part)

Justus glanced at Mi Chenshuo.Mi Chenshuo rose to his feet, his face expressionless, and turned to walk out the door.

"Mi Chenshuo!" Joyina chased after him, reaching out to block his way. "The wish I made today is to marry you. You can leave, you can reject me, but none of that will stop me from pursuing you."

Mi Chenshuo took a deep look at her, pulled her hand away, and strode out the door.

Joyina stared at his back and shouted loudly, "Mi Chenshuo, if you don’t marry me for one day, I won’t marry for one day. If you marry another woman, I’ll never marry for life!"

Justus frowned and pulled his sister back.

Everyone thought Joyina would cause a scene, but she smiled throughout her birthday celebration.

On Joyina’s birthday, Mi Chenshuo disappeared. No one knew where he went, and Joyina didn’t panic. This was his home, and she firmly believed he would come back.

Before Justus returned to his home country, he wanted to have a proper talk with his sister. But Joyina grew impatient before he could say much.

Joyina glared at him and let out a cold snort. "Don’t think I don’t know what you did. The day before my birthday, you dragged Mi Chenshuo out for drinks. You must have said something to him, otherwise he wouldn’t have refused to be my boyfriend. I know better than anyone how he feels about me!"

"Having feelings doesn’t change anything. There’s too much between you two..."

"What’s there between us? Age? Sister Huo Li is over twenty years younger than Second Uncle, and they’re still happy together! Status? Brother, I beg you, don’t see me as someone on a pedestal. Look at the wives and girlfriends of Mi Chenshuo’s brothers. Which of them isn’t a princess or a lady from a noble family? Compared to them, I’m the worst!"

Justus looked at his sister with a pained expression. "... For Mi Chenshuo, you want to abandon Mom?"

"No way. Who says I don’t want Mom? After I win Mi Chenshuo over, I’ll bring him back to see Mom. But—" Joyina gave Justus a sharp glance and said firmly, "If I don’t win Mi Chenshuo, I’ll never go home!"

If her brother hadn’t said something to Mi Chenshuo, there was no way he would’ve slipped away. If he dared to interfere with her happiness, today, she would make sure to threaten him good.

Justus fell silent for a moment. He knew Joyina’s personality. It seemed the task their father had entrusted him with wasn’t something he could complete.

"Poor Father and Mother, waiting for you to come back every day. And you, this heartless little thing, can say such cruel words!" Justus threw down these words and turned to leave.

Joyina’s eyes reddened. She missed her parents too, but her priority was to win Mi Chenshuo. That man was far too desirable—if she wasn’t careful, someone else would snatch him away.

After a short moment, Justus returned. Seeing his sister in tears, he hesitated, then handed her a slip of paper with an address written on it. "After I go back, I’ll try to ease things with Mom and Dad. One last thing, little sister: whether two people can be together depends on fate. If it’s not yours, you can’t force it."

Joyina pouted and looked at Justus with tearful eyes. "Brother, you didn’t pursue your own happiness. Do you regret it?"

Justus frowned slightly. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Joyina puckered her lips. "Don’t think I don’t know what’s in your heart just because I’m younger. Brother, your sacrifice created a beautiful match—you didn’t lose out."

Justus let out a bitter laugh. "I’m not as noble as you think. Because I know whether I choose to let go or not, she doesn’t belong to me."

After Justus left, Joyina stared at the slip of paper for a long time before deciding to find Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa was in Lady Jing Ya’s room, discussing with Tong Yao and Lady Jing Ya what gifts to buy for Huo Li.

Joyina knocked on the door and called Yi Luowa out.

Yi Luowa laughed and asked, "You need something?"

"Luowa, I’m heading out for a few days," Joyina said.

Yi Luowa was taken aback. "Where are you going?"

"I’m going to find my true love!" Joyina laughed mischievously. "I know where Mi Chenshuo is!"

Yi Luowa looked at her with concern. "Joyina, my third brother’s wounds might not have healed yet. If you go to him now and he runs away again, what will you do?"

"Luowa, I’m not afraid. No matter how far he goes, even to the edge of the world, I’ll find him." Joyina pursed her lips. "I know he carries another woman in his heart. He even said her name in his sleep once, showing how much she means to him. But that was in the past—I don’t care. I only care about his present and future."

Seeing that Joyina was determined, Yi Luowa gently patted her face and smiled. "A brave girl like you will certainly be blessed by God. I’ll send some people to go with you."

"No need, I’ve got Tiger and Leopard with me, that’s enough." Joyina smiled brightly. "I won’t say goodbye to everyone in the family—it’ll only worry them. If anyone asks, you can explain later."

"Alright, take care on the road."

Joyina nodded with a smile, grabbed her simple belongings, and left Xiawu for Country Z with Tiger and Leopard.

Yi Luowa returned to Lady Jing Ya’s room. Tong Yao smiled and asked, "What did Joyina want from you?"

"She’s gone to find my third brother." Yi Luowa glanced at the little notebook. During her brief absence, her mother-in-law had added a few more items to the list.

Tong Yao shook her head helplessly. "I didn’t expect your third brother to react that way that day."

"I heard from Tong Airui that the day before Joyina’s birthday, Justus and my third brother went out for drinks. He probably didn’t say anything good. Otherwise, after everything my third brother shared with Joyina—their ’sleeping’ arrangements included—he wouldn’t have left so heartlessly."

Tong Yao laughed and gave her a light slap.

Lady Jing Ya chuckled as well.

Yi Luowa stuck her tongue out. "Mom~ Why are you hitting me! The sleep I mentioned is in quotation marks."

"You’re doing that on purpose!" Tong Yao shook her head helplessly. "Your aunt had already given her tacit approval of this match, but your third brother still ran off. Shuoshuo’s marriage really is full of twists and turns."

Yi Luowa pouted. "No kidding."

"Yan Zi was such a troublemaker as a child. Now, she gets to taste what it’s like." Lady Jing Ya sighed lightly. "Back then, Chen Er worried so much about her..."

"Mom, it’s all in the past. Let’s not talk about it now." Tong Yao patted Lady Jing Ya’s hand and turned her attention to Yi Luowa. "Did Joyina bring people with her?"

"She took Tiger and Leopard with her."

"That might not be enough. Should I arrange for someone to protect her secretly?"

"Mom, if Justus gave Joyina the address, he wouldn’t do so without planning on protecting her secretly."

Tong Yao nodded. "That’s true. Where did your third brother go?"

"Tong Airui said my third brother went to Country Z."

Tong Yao frowned slightly. "To find his first love?"

Yi Luowa smiled knowingly. "You sure do know a lot!"

Tong Yao pursed her lips. "I have to keep up with all of you. Otherwise, when you stray off course, it’ll be too late for me to fix things."

Yi Luowa and Lady Jing Ya exchanged glances and both laughed.

"Luowa, Connie already left. When are you planning to leave? Don’t stay cooped up at home all the time," Lady Jing Ya said with a warm smile.

"I called Aunt Ni Lu. She told me my mom’s illness just recently improved, so I should stay home a bit longer to keep her company. Once Second Uncle sets the wedding date, I’ll go stay in Country S for a few days, then she and I will come here together."

Tong Yao chuckled. "Looks like Ni Lu’s health has improved quite a bit—she’s starting to care about others."

Yi Luowa nodded. "She’s speaking quite logically now."

"Sigh... Let’s hope she gets well soon. Look at Uncle Jack now—he’s aged so much. Last time he came by, I even noticed he had white hair." Tong Yao rubbed her temples. "Luowa, if you’re not going to Country S, you should go back to the estate for a visit."

Yi Luowa scrunched her nose. "I’m still in a cold war with Second Uncle. If I go back, he’ll think I’ll forgive him no matter what mistake he makes, and next time, he’ll make an even bigger mistake."

"You child! Your second uncle even wrote you an apology letter, yet you’re still giving him the cold shoulder!" Tong Yao said, pretending to scold her.

Yi Luowa giggled. "Mom, I’m just joking with you! Don’t take me seriously! Once I finish buying everything for Huo Li, I’ll go back to the estate. Second Uncle even suggested that the estate’s air is good, and that you, Grandpa, Grandma, and Great-Uncle and Great-Aunt should go stay there for a few days too."

"We’ll talk about it later." Tong Yao sighed a little. "Xuanxuan is returning to his troop soon, and the house will only have your aunt and Youyou left. I suspect your aunt won’t last long and will bring Youyou back to live here soon."

As Tong Yao spoke, Yan Zi’s voice came from outside the door. "Mom, Sister-in-law, where are you?"

Lady Jing Ya glanced at Tong Yao. "Your mouth is blessed—whatever you say comes true!"

Tong Yao rose with a laugh. "I’ll go take a look."
