Yan Zi saw her mother’s bedroom door was open and stormed over, fuming.Tong Yao noticed her anger and glanced at Youyou, who looked innocent, then furrowed her brows slightly. "What’s happened?"

"This child chased away another teacher. I’m done trying to control her." Yan Zi shoved Youyou toward Tong Yao. "Xuanxuan got an urgent call and had to return to his team early. I can’t handle her alone."

Youyou pouted and looked at Yan Zi.

Yan Zi glared at her.

Youyou’s pout deepened.

Tong Yao chuckled and gently patted Youyou’s head. "Youyou, is it because Xuanxuan left that you’re upset and taking it out on others?"

Youyou timidly nodded and then quickly shook her head.

Yi Luowa helped Madam Jing Ya out of her room. Seeing Youyou standing there like a bullied little wife, she burst out laughing.

Youyou glanced at her but quickly looked away.

"Youyou, I’m going shopping with Huo Li later. Want to come?" Yi Luowa asked, smiling.

Youyou’s eyes momentarily brightened, but then dimmed again. "Mi Chenxuan said I can’t leave his mom’s side, or he’ll stop wanting me."

Yi Luowa chuckled, "Did Old Eight also say that if you upset his mom, he wouldn’t want you either?"

Youyou immediately ran over to Yan Zi, grabbed her hand, and pleaded, "I was wrong. I’ll never hit another teacher again."

Yan Zi shook off her hand with a cold expression.

Youyou turned back to Yi Luowa. "Auntie, she won’t talk to me."

Yi Luowa shrugged. "Of course she won’t talk to you—you don’t listen! You need to behave well."

Youyou pouted again. "I’ll behave from now on. Auntie, can we go home? I want to live at home."

"Not going back. You’ll live here from now on. The moment you go home, you stop being yourself!" Yan Zi stormed toward the door and called for the servants to bring several suitcases inside.

Youyou stared at her eagerly.

Yan Zi furrowed her brows, glanced at her, and then turned to Yi Luowa. "Luowa, take her out when you leave later. Let her relax a bit—she’s been under too much pressure these past days."

Yi Luowa nodded quickly.

Yan Zi glanced at Youyou again. "Luowa, also get her a few sets of proper clothes. Look at what she’s wearing—money’s been spent on them, but not a single piece is wearable outside."

Youyou glanced down at her own outfit. It seemed fine! But if Mi Chenxuan’s mom said it wasn’t, then it wasn’t.

Yi Luowa smiled and agreed.

Honestly, she wanted to say Youyou’s clothes were fine, just a bit too childish.

Yan Zi entered Madam Jing Ya’s room and sat down wearily. "If there’s time, get her messy, tangled hair sorted too."

"Got it~" Yi Luowa responded cheerfully.

Tong Yao furrowed her brows. "Yan Zi, are you treating our Luowa like your personal maid? Aren’t these things things a mother-in-law should be doing?"

"Can’t you have a little pity for me?" Yan Zi rubbed her temples and looked at Tong Yao. "Do you see the state I’m in now? It’s a miracle I’ve made it to today."

Madam Jing Ya smacked her irritably. "Quit talking nonsense. Your third uncle said your life of leisure is ahead of you."

Yan Zi smirked. "Seventy or eighty? At this rate, I doubt I’ll live past sixty."

Youyou’s eyes turned red, and she ran over crying, "Auntie, I won’t make you angry anymore. I’ll follow everything you say. If you’re gone, Mi Chenxuan will be heartbroken."

Yan Zi sighed, raised her hand, and gently wiped away her tears. "Youyou, I’m not always upset with you. It’s just that there’s been too much going on at home, and Auntie doesn’t have the strength to handle it all."

Tong Yao patted Youyou’s shoulder. "Youyou, go play with your sister-in-law. I’ll talk to your aunt."

Youyou looked at Yan Zi reluctantly before turning and leaving the room.

Tong Yao closed the door, sat beside Yan Zi, and said, "Joyina went to find Shuoshuo. I think they’ll be back soon, so you don’t need to worry about Shuoshuo anymore."

Yan Zi was stunned. "Joyina went to find him? Does she know where he is? That darn kid—I can’t believe I’ve got such a worry-inducing son!"

Tong Yao nodded. "Shuoshuo went to Z Country. Don’t underestimate Joyina. She may be young, but she’s resourceful and persuasive. She’ll definitely bring Shuoshuo back."

"Ah... Sister-in-law, when will I ever be as stress-free as you?" Yan Zi shook her head helplessly.

"When your children grow up, things will get better." Tong Yao chuckled. "At least you have a sweet daughter."

"Don’t even bring up that brat—she treats you like her real mom." Yan Zi was so frustrated that she even started badmouthing her favorite little raindrop.

Madam Jing Ya wished she could smack her a few times, but seeing her daughter clearly overwhelmed, she simply sat down and tried to offer some soothing words.

Yi Luowa called Huo Li to confirm a time and place, then turned to see Youyou lingering by her grandmother’s door and gently pulled her out the door.

There was still time before meeting Huo Li, so Yi Luowa took Youyou to a hair salon to deal with her messy braids.

When Youyou left the salon, she looked much fresher. Her knee-length hair was combed into a sleek ponytail. Concerned it might be inconvenient for her to sit in the car, Yi Luowa folded half of it up and secured it again.

Youyou didn’t say anything—she simply reached back to touch her own hair.

"It’s down to your waist. This looks great," Yi Luowa said as she glanced at her. "Youyou, even though not many people recognize you, your hair is an identifying feature. This way, it’s more discreet and can save you from unnecessary trouble."

Youyou mumbled softly, "Anyone who recognizes me—I’ve already killed them."

"What if there’s a fish that slipped through the net?" Yi Luowa chuckled. "Across the street is Mirola Mall. Let’s go buy some clothes."

Youyou pouted but followed her into the mall. Not long after, she tugged Yi Luowa back outside, "Luowa sis, I need to get some money first."

"I brought money."

"I have money—a lot of it!" Youyou pulled a key out of her jeans pocket and showed it to Yi Luowa. "My master left me a fortune."

Yi Luowa raised her brows suspiciously. "Stored at the bank?"

"My master opened accounts at Citibank in more than ten countries. While he was alive, he told me these are all mine." Youyou reached into another pocket. "I’ve got over ten keys in here."

Yi Luowa chuckled. "Youyou, we’re pressed for time now. Huo Li is meeting us soon. Let’s shop first, and you can retrieve your money another day."

Youyou pouted and nodded.

Yi Luowa spent the day out shopping, buying nearly everything for Youyou and Huo Li before finally bringing Youyou back home.

Tong Airui came home early today, and by the time Yi Luowa arrived, he was already there.

Tong Airui saw his wife juggling numerous shopping bags and promptly took them from her.

"These are all for Youyou. Let the servants take them upstairs." Yi Luowa patted her sore arm and sat down. "Where’s aunt? Let her take a look at Youyou’s new look and see if she’s satisfied. If not, I can take her out again tomorrow."

Tong Airui glanced at Youyou. "She looks more like a kid now."

Youyou pouted but didn’t dare speak.

Tong Airui handed the bags to the servants and said to Youyou, "Youyou, come with me to the study—I have a few questions for you."

Youyou froze and looked nervously at Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa smiled. "He doesn’t bite—go on."

Youyou instinctively touched her neck and followed Tong Airui into the study.

"Youyou, the person from the Blue Earl’s family—are you sure they’re not someone sent by the base?" Tong Airui asked bluntly once they entered.

Youyou hesitated for a moment and nodded.

"Why did you hesitate?" Tong Airui fixed her with a questioning gaze.

"He hasn’t shown signs of betraying my master or Du Ma. But he’s been away from the base for a long time. I don’t know what he’s been through outside—people change." Youyou raised her eyes to him. "If something’s wrong with him, I’ll go kill him."

Tong Airui frowned slightly. "No, I was just asking. Youyou, you gave me a list of people you’re certain were sent by the base before. This time, go through it again and mark anyone you’re confident isn’t from the base."

Youyou took the list Tong Airui handed her and looked at it for a long time without marking anyone.

Tong Airui raised his brows slightly. "You can go."

Youyou ran out as if a weight had been lifted.

Tong Airui stared at the list briefly, then picked up the phone.

After dinner, Yi Luowa sprawled on the bed, groaning. Tong Airui rubbed her legs tenderly. "From now on, no shopping trips longer than two hours. Just look at how exhausted you are."

"Two hours isn’t enough to buy anything." Yi Luowa groaned. "Husband, what did you say to Youyou? She’s been sulking since she came out."

"Asked about the base. The infiltrators from before have all been arrested, but I’m worried there might be stragglers."

"Oh. No wonder Youyou’s upset—they’re her fellow disciples."

Tong Airui paused. "Honey, Lan Ji and Bert are together."

"Huh?" Yi Luowa suddenly turned to look at Tong Airui. "How’s that possible!"
