Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven

Chapter 352: Crown of Divinity

Chapter 352: Crown of Divinity

The two of them spent a few days holed up inside the underground cavern. While Ved had woken up he was still weak.

Unfortunately with his life no longer in danger his image stopped protecting him and disappeared.

A few days passed and his strength returned then they decided to leave, they hoped the old ancestor of the Kadaris empire had left.

Unfortunately for them, they were very wrong. Just as they were about to leave they were discovered.

He had laid a trap even Ved’s stealth couldn’t bypass. Since he couldn’t see them he laid a net of wind.

It was ingenious, this net worked similar to a spider web, as soon as Ved and Naledi caused a disturbance the old man felt them.

To prevent them from flying out he created a wall of wind tall enough to reach the sky and blocked the entrance.

Both Ved and Naledi knew they were fucked and immediately went all out. Ved’s body had not grown in size but had grown in mass.

Physically he was much stronger than before due to the enhancement of his dragon image.

However that was pointless since his physical strength cannot bypass the existential barrier of laws.

Even so, that still did not stop him from facing a being that much stronger than him without fear.

It was strange, Ved had always feared death to the extreme, he still does but for the past few years, his life was no longer his sole priority.

He had people and things he would be willing to die for and the one who takes the top spot stood next time him now.

Ved did not notice but his desire to protect her triumphed his desire to keep himself alive.

As such his will grew according, his image which had already materialised behind him shook.

Its aura stretched out and encompassed her, it could already do this for his allies before but the effects showed only after the battle.

This time, it encompassed her even before the fight, of course it was still his image and its effect on her could not match the effects it had on him.

Seeing them stand and challenge him instead of running made the old ancestor angry.

Time and time again these two children kept challenging his pride, it was infuriating. This time he decided to end them.

Even a tiger would go all out when killing a rabbit so he summoned his image. His image was solid.

However unlike in manifestation realm, it had laws now. In fact it was no longer called an image but an avatar.

While an image’s offensive power was weaker than it user, an avatar was the exact opposite.

They were the last resort and strongest weapon of any creature with laws. The avatar was that of a large bird of wind.

It was huge with a wingspan of over 4 kilometres, its presence stirred the snowstorm and shook the sky.

Ved’s face turned grim, they could barely survive against him in his base form but now, they had a zero chance.

He was about to urge Naledi to run when she took out a treasure. It was blue tiara with blue sapphire crystals.

It looked almost identical to the one already on her head but he knew that one was part of her transformation to a Valkyrie.

She placed the tiara on her head and it merged with the one already there. When that happened, the sapphire stones busted into blue flames.

The temperature for tens of thousands of kilometres dropped to absolute zero freezing everything solid.

Even he felt a layer of ice accumulate on his scales. He knew, whatever this treasure was, it was absolutely powerful.

She turned and looked at him, " Nine seconds, that’s how long you have to run."

" What?" He was confused by her statement, did she really expect him to run and leave her, was she underestimating him that much?

Before he could say anything her body rose and merged with her image. The blue flames on the tiara spread out.

In a blink of an eye they had covered the entire image setting it on fire but the flames were not hot.

After all, they were the flames of her divinity, not real fire and as the queen of winter, her flames burnt cold instead.

Her image of an empress faced the giant bird fearlessly. The old ancestor flew into the birds forehead and the fight began.

Naledi marvelled at the crown of divinity, it was more powerful than she had ever expected.

The crown didn’t have any offensive power, it only had one ability. It gave her complete control of her divine flames.

However divine flames stood on equal standing to laws, strong as she was she couldn’t withstand such power for long.

Five seconds was the maximum she could wield them without any significant damage to herself.

Nine seconds was the longest if she was willing to burn her soul and harm herself in the process.

Of course her soul was even more special than Ved’s, its regenerative ability had surpassed his so soul wounds weren’t too much of a threat to her, not more than other wounds.

Her image swung its flame shrouded sword, it cut through the air leaving a trail of snow of and ice.

The old ancestor smirked, a child daring to challenge the might of laws, she did not know the height of heaven.

He was very proud of being able to achieve comprehension realm and looked down on all those who couldn’t, or ebdb those who were yet to.

At level 3 of comprehension realm, he considered himself strong. Seeing a lawless child challenge him was amusing.

He could already see her image shattering under the might of his avatar. The avatar swung it giant wing to meet the blade.

" Ahhhhh." Naledi roared, the sword and the wing met. The world seemed to stand then BOOOOM.

A shockwave of wind and snow spread out, the sky itself froze then it was ripped to shreds by the winds.

The minor world dozens of millions of kilometres in diameter shook. Everybody inside heard and felt the quakes.

Those at the law comprehension realm felt everything clearer, they knew a battle at their level was taking place but each chose to continue searching for treasures.

After the collision, Naledi’s image was pushed a hundred of kilometres away, its sword had a small crack on it.

However the most surprised was the old ancestor, not only did the image survive but he was pushed back over 20 kilometres away.

He had won the exchange but he did not feel happy because to him, this did not make any sense.

" What..are you?"
